ezcruizer Posted January 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2012 I am sailing on the Brilliance in December and doing the southern islands but I want to know if the ship has enough to do to keep me busy since I am doing a B2B (14 days). I have done the Oasis class, Freedom class, Voyager class and I have been on the Jewel. I don't remember the activities on the Jewel because it's been a while since I sailed on that ship. Can someone who has been on the Brilliance recently tell me if there are a lot of activities on the ship. Thank you.
marci22 Posted January 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2012 We've also been on Freedom class, Voyager class and Brilliance, and Brilliance definitely just seemed quieter. I was travelling with teens and it seemed like there were not as many food sources available at all hours like on the bigger ships.
Langley Cruisers Posted January 22, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2012 ^ Absolutely agree with marci22. Brilliance was definitely quieter and truth be told, we both missed the Royal Promenade. We had a 12 night Med cruise. Because it was so port-intensive, I appreciated the rest and relaxation the ship provided. LOVED with a great big overflowing love the outdoor aft seating in the Windjammer. We took all our dinners out there and watched the sunset every night. Glorious. You've sailed Jewel so you're familiar. I think a ship is as "busy" or as quiet as you want it to be.

Sequim88 Posted January 24, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2012 If Brilliance is taking over for Serenade and doing similar routes two thoughts come to mind... 1. Itineraries are very port intensive so daytime hours are readily filled ashore. The sea days (one for each route) have plenty to do (or not do). 2. Evenings always have plenty to do between shows, lounges, activities, casino, movies, self leveling pool tables and more. Great point was made about outdoor area of Windjammer and there is also the popular Seaview Cafe that is unique to Radiance class (except Radiance now).
