Canadian Cruiser98 Posted January 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2016 So this year, we are going to be spending a whole week at a hotel in Curacao. We've never been, but have been told by others that they loved the island. I myself am a major foodie, so I'm super excited to explore the local cuisine, so I was wondering what your favorite local restaurants were? We don't do seafood as someone in our group is severely allergic, but anything else is fair game!
ODECCIT Posted January 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2016 Try "Awa Di Playa" which located next to Pirate Bay beach. Local food and right on the water.
bup1224 Posted January 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2016 We just spent a week in Curacao in September (our 2nd full week vacay there). We loved Scampi at the Arches - they have more than seafood - right on the water - in Punda. Steak and Ribs was just ok. Bistro Le Chochard in Rif Fort is fabulous - make a reservation to sit out on the deck on the water - this one is pricey. Have lunch in Willemstad at Plasa Bieu also known as the Old Market - local food it's great - large portions. We have not been but Jaanchies Restaurant in Westpunt is supposed to have amazing local food as well. We love Curacao!
cruiseapril Posted January 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2016 We also love Curacao and enjoy Fort Nassau and the Avila Hotel restaurants. One can read the menus online.
LuckyL Posted February 5, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 5, 2016 We liked Trio Pennotti . Great place with island ambiance . Across the street from Christofal park entrance . You will not be disappointed . They can get very busy in the evening so call first to see if you need reservations . You will need a car to get there . Seaside terrace is another great local place . On the water east of port.Just before Mambo beach . Taxi will be about the same price as Mambo . Both places are not upscale but very friendly . Both offer open air dining . Trio has indoor as well . Neither is very pricey . Menus to both are available online .
Hawaii697 Posted February 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2016 I'm researching for our one day visit in Curacao. Seems a local favorite is "iguana". It was suggested to go to the Plasa Bieu aka Old Market.
