Conquest Sailaway

Just watched Conquest sail away from PE and it's a ghost ship. 3 weeks in a row now. Something or somebody has changed. Sailaway is a big part of cruise vacation so beware. We are on her in April and would be disappointed. What happens if you walk out to watch Sailaway? I've asked JH again but he only answer questions for reservation or to poke fun at people and incite the KAN.

...We were on the 1/31 Conquest sailing and I can tell you that we were in the middle of Muster Drill as we pulled out of port. Even after 26 Carnival cruises, we still enjoy watching Sailaway, regardless of the port. Boarding started very late on this cruise, and can make an educated guess that the same has been happening since.

...The atmosphere during Muster was somber as folks were fairly upset that they were not able to watch us pull out. But, I can tell you that once the party started, we had a blast during Sailaway with the CD Josh. He had full decks of people dancing and clapping!

Are they leaving late?? I'm wondering if they r starting the muster drill late or taking forever with it and the ships sailing during it

I agree with you as well....we enjoy sailaway n would be disappointed if we're stuck not being able to enjoy it

They leave at 4:30 every week. Once maybe in last 3 months they left later. Every other ship is deck loaded. Princess left 8 minutes in front of them and they were full. Allure of the Seas left shortly after them and looked like all 8000 were on deck.Even HAL had people on deck and their bedtime is like 5 PM. So 3 weeks in a row is an operational issue to me. Princess has set time for muster, they scan cards and it starts on time. You miss or come late, they have a makeup muster. But we all know Carnival doesn't want to upset the entitled.

I saw that today as well. I was wondering where everyone was at. We sail the Conquest in May and it's our first time of sailing out of Fort Lauderdale. I want to make sure I can experience the sail-away and take plenty of pictures.

I know someone that's on the Conquest right now so, I will have to ask when they return. I agree, since this is the 3rd week of the same pattern, there has to be an operational issue. I hope it's worked out soon and before we board the ship.

We were on the 1/18 sailing. Weather was bad enough that no one was out on the deck for sail away. However, there is a problem with the entire ship. This our 2nd time in the last 9 months we've been on the Conquest. Both times the service throughout the ship was not just bad but it was awful. from the dining room to the cabins to guest services was truly awful. Casino was filled with smoke did not need to be playing to smoke in the casino, you could just be walking in the actual casino and be smoking w/o anyone saying anything. Will never sail the Conquest again,

I just got off the 2/6 sailing. There has been severe delays in the port, the scanning system to get you into the ship kept going down so they would have to stop and reset the system. It was delaying people getting onboard and so they keep having to push muster drill to 4 instead of 3:30 like it is scheduled in the Fun Times, and so we missed sailing away.

Port Everglades was really a disorganized mess, both getting on and off the ship. We were in priority disembarkation group and it took us an hour and 20 minutes just to get through the customs line. I can't imagine what the people in higher groups had to go through if group 1 was already over an hour wait.

The cruise was amazing otherwise, I loved all the staff I encountered and we had a lot of fun onboard. But the stuff port Everglades handled was the worst I have ever experienced for embarkation or debarkation.

Thanks for the information! I hope that they get the system fixed soon. Is this Carnival's responsibility or the ports?

You're not the only one complaining how disorganized Port Everglades is and besides the drive to FLL and back it's the thing that I'm least looking forward too having to experience. Our cruises have all been out of Port Canaveral and we have always had an excellent experience.

Same here. Sailed 10/15 and we were in muster drill during sail-away. Very disappointing. It was very hot and they held us in muster even after the briefing was over, apparently letting people go in stages so as to not overwhelm the stairs and such. People were not happy.

Wow we sailed on the Conquest over New Years and were done with muster and on our balcony for sail away with time to spare. Also I thought the embark and debark went pretty smoothly but we did have FTTF. We had a wonderful cruise on the conquest. I hope if there are issues now they resolve them so everyone can have a great time like we did!

We were on both the 1/9 and the 1/17 sailings,B2B,and although it was chilly on the 1/17 sailing there were quite a few people, less than normal, and the usual activities on deck. The 1/9 sailing was warmer and there was the usual sail away on deck.Muster was completed before sail away on both.Had no complaints with either the service or the crew on either sailing.

So do they swipe your cruise card (whatever Carnival calls it) to know who is at Muster? Last time there was staff in life preserves directing traffic and packing the sardines in out my the lifeboats. If it's delayed until 4pm, what's to say we just hang out on our balcony. Who will know?

I was on the 3rd and the 9th sailing and there was problems with immigration. It took a long time to get on the ship on the 3rd and it took a long time for people to disembark on the 9th before all the B2Ber were able to get off. Then we were suppose to be taken down and go through customs and then we were told we were just going to get our pictures for our sign and sail card and get back on the ship as customs was really backed up.

My husband and I were on the 1/31-2/6 sailing and the embarkation and the muster were awful. It was not Carnival's fault that customs was late clearing the ship. It is Carnival's fault this is an ongoing trend at Port Everglade-going back many months based upon previous reviews; that Carnival has made no effort to abate the chaos caused by the delay. Horrible. Thousands of people crammed into the terminal at 11 until about 1230. Standing or sitting on dirty floor. Broken PA system. Sail away was ruined by late muster drill (not Carnival's fault) BUT the crew was super slow-worst in the past 3 cruises we have been on. So nope nobody on deck as we sailed out.

Golf....They do a head count at each muster station. You cannot remain in your cabin as they check all the cabins during the drill.
