Krazy Kruizers Posted November 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Doesn't look like things are improving at the Pinnacle - another new special - "lunch for 2, dinner for 2, and 2 pre-dinner cocktails - a $75 value for $55." (HUM - lunch is $10 per person and dinner is $20 per person = $60. Those most be some pre-dinner cocktails - $15 for 2 drinks.) DH went to the gym this morning at 6 AM only to discover that 4 of the treadmills weren't working and the other 2 were already in use. One woman hogs the one treadmill every morning for 1 1/2 hours. So he decided to walk around the Promenade Deck for a couple of miles. Couldn't even do that - the crew were up bright and early washing down the life boats on the starboard side. Today was our Mariner's Party which I talked about in one of general reports. Instead of the regular team trivias held everyday, people signed up for a new "Tournament Trivia" game. People who were accustomed to being on the same team every day got a rude awaking - everyone was split up into 6 different teams - each team having 8 or 9 players. Unfortuneately not everyone showed up for the first round of trivia and a couple of teams had only 6 players. Although we didn't play, we did watch. Before the game even began one woman was complaining about not enough members on her team and she wasn't with her buddies. Two of the 6 teams were eleminated today. We weren't able to stay for all the questions as we wanted to go to another activity. But we did get 9 out of the first 10 questions right. Today was the Best Bartender Contest in the Crow's Nest. There were 3 bar tenders participating. Each made their own special drink. We received cards and had to rate the drinks on originality, color, presentation, and taste. Anyone voting got to sample each of the 3 drinks. It was fun. Our cruising speed today was only 10.8 nautical miles per hour. We don't have many miles to get to Zihuatanejo. We have noticed that more and more people have colds or URI.

sail7seas Posted November 10, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2004 What a nice day aboard. Sure sounds VERY good to be right about now!!! Did they ever get the treadmills fixed or were they out of service for the whole cruise? That would have really bothered me if we were aboard that long and I would have had a very hard time getting use of a working treadmill.
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 10, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted November 10, 2004 sail7seas Two treadmills were completely useless the last 5 days of the cruise. It was just for 2 - 3 days that there was only 1 working treadmill.

gizmo Posted November 10, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 10, 2004 KK, thanks. Paul was a top bartender on our Statendam cruise last year who took very good care of us. I would love to run into him on a future cruise.
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 10, 2004 Author #8 Share Posted November 10, 2004 gizmo With the way the crew keep getting moved from one ship to another, it is possibl that you will meet Paul on a future 'dam' cruise.
