  1. I agree the lifts are a hazard. They have the same capacity as the Vista lifts, I think. That is a highly fictitious 18. But the doors are hyperactive, and given the general decrepitude of Cunard passengers, many will be squashed. I have had several fights with them already, for they are quite determined.
  2. I think I know who you are. If you are at lunch, I will come and say hello. 😀
  3. Gorgeous weather. Cabin very nice, but would be stupendous if it didn’t have the partition in the middle. Beds very comfortable. I am spending the next fortnight looking at a wall in the QG. Navigation of ship quite complicated, as is putting on a life jacket. QG Lounge a dark hell hole, though you can see out of the roof. Commodore Club gorgeous.
  4. The taxi will arrive soon, and we are waiting with an unusual mixture of anticipation and trepidation. I know there are many posters on this cruise, so feel free add your comments as well, if you have internet time. One thing: it is a gorgeous day in the South.
  5. This is a good point. When we first went on Cunard in 1997, we changed up to travel in a QG cabin on the grounds it was the holiday of a lifetime, etc, etc. That decision must have cost us thousands and thousands. 😀
  6. I don’t think we should bother about the deck plan details. For instance, QG on QE bears no remembrance to reality, and only has about 440 places.
  7. Not on my older menus, I think. But as I’m mid-packing, I don’t think I today is the day to find them and check. 😀 PS Yuck, however it is spelt. 😀
  8. It has been the menu pattern for some time. PS Yuck. 😀
  9. I did think you might get a commemorative bit of Wedgwood.
  10. Yes, if it’s not busy, they’ll probably let you in anyway.
  11. Massachusetts, the home of the sacred cod. But isn’t random white fish called scrod?
  12. Of course non vegetarians choose the veggie options, just as a surprising number of so called vegetarians seem to think fish is a vegetable. But, and this is completely subjective, I really don’t think anywhere near 40% of the people around me at dinner choose the veggie dishes.
  13. He would be willing to alternate I’m sure, but his hearing is so much improved if he has an all behind him that he would be very miserable the other way round - and I would be very miserable.
