  1. You do need to make sure that your preferred brand is marine friendly. Otherwise what washes of people will coat the coral and kill it. Ask the expedition crew. There is one ingredient that cannot be used, but many retail brands are still okay.
  2. I wondered why you posted someone else's review. Then I read this at the bottom of the review which didn't make sense as part of the review. So I assume this is your comment? May I be of help? When you are replying with a quote, write your comments in the white area below the blue shadowed quote. Those words then show up as written by you, the poster.
  3. Princess Cruises emailed today to advise they have redeployed Grand Princess next year and she is not coming to Australia. Obviously both my cruises have been cancelled. Just as I was becoming familiar with how life on a Princess ship works!
  4. No, binoculars are not in veranda suites. I’m definitely glad I took my own for the Alaska section. (Binoculars are not in cabins on Silver Wind/Cloud in Antarctica either.)
  5. Arriving in the dining room at 8:35pm, there was no way you were going to be finished and out for the 9:30pm show anyway.
  6. I think he meant they were remaining at the table chatting after eating, and therefore blocking other passengers who were waiting to dine.
  7. Notwithstanding your other comments, I think one of the pleasures of dining is to sit after the meal and enjoy conversation. Perhaps with another wine, a coffee or a port/liqueur.
  8. You have posted some lovely, atmospheric photos. Cloud and grey skies make for wonderful lighting and contrast.
  9. Pack your toiletries and items from shelves and drawers* into a suitcase for crew to move. Clothing on hangers will be transferred on a trolley. *Ask about items in drawers first. Sometimes the attendants just swap over the entire drawer from cabin to cabin.
  10. See post #212 above, and post #188 on the previous page. Ken has posted the daily program several times.
  11. Definitely still a World Cruise! It is probably an even better itinerary now that it doesn’t have to be re-worked to avoid the Suez Canal. Itineraries have to be swapped around to help avoid repetition.
  12. I agree it’s up to the Atlantide Maître d’. On Dawn last year we frequently had a group of 8 solos use the large table. One of us would ask at lunchtime and he would keep it for us. Otherwise we would make sure to be there at 7pm. Not formal night, as @drron29 explained. The 8-top is otherwise left empty or used as a share table.
  13. It is difficult to give advice when you do not say in which country you are using the service. In Australia, I receive an email from Silversea with a link to book the transfers. As there is no extra charge for an SUV, you could ask for a rebate of two rides. However, you might need two vehicles due to luggage.
  14. Jeffrey is still going strong. I had the pleasure of meeting him on a couple of cruises last year, and saw a recording of one of his acts. Fabulous person!
