  1. I know many are upset like you about the Star and I understand that. With that being said, Princess actually did give good will. In the past when these mistakes happened on Princess and other lines, they were just canceled and all money was returned. In this case, Princess chose to give comped inside cabins with a chance to upgrade at a discounted price. Now it may not have included the premier or plus package, but it still was a comped cabin along with the deposit becoming OBC as stated for recognition of the inconvenience. Quite a few gambled and hoped it wouldn't be canceled but most, like me grabbing a cabin, knew it was more than likely a mistake. It was posted on here and on the roll call that they could cancel and refund even though cards were charged. It's what we agree to if mistakes are made. There are posters who are used to getting comped cabins, though probably not the reserve mini suites, but there are also many posters who don't get comped cabins or casino offers and hoped for the best. It's a cruise that was booked well over a year away on a ship that isn't even built yet. I'm sure over the 2 nights that it was booked that no one purchased their airfare nor paid for non refundable hotels yet. There was already the threat of forfeiting the deposit as it was payable in full and on non-refundable. Posters said it wasn't a lot and they were willing to lose it. The deposits became refundable and many have already gotten their refunds, though it may have taken a couple of calls or emails and was an inconvenience. It's huge disappointment which is understandable, but they are willing to still give comped cabins, though not the category booked. People were given a choice over a few days to decide what to do. I'm not a cheerleader as many call positive posters who stick up for Princess and will very readily admit when they screw up and they did. Heck, my flooded cabin a week ago on The Enchanted was not handled well AT ALL and I'm not going to blindly stick up for Princess ever. This booking situation was a massive mistake that may not have been handled in the best manner, but at least they tried to do something by offering comped inside cabins with the deposit becoming OBC with a few days to decide what booked people wanted to do whether it was to keep, upgrade and or get a full refund. The person that has been helping, Jenn Wright, really needs kudos as she has been very quick and responsive and shows the best side of a Princess employee. It's too bad that there aren't more like her. I truly hope you do get to sail one day on the Star and get the cruise that you really want at a fantastic price. Thank you for posting your original thread because it gave us all the chance, even fleeting to have booked a great deal.
  2. Thread as been unlocked @dog's request.
  3. That is true. It showed comp offer for me. It was the Emerald sailing that showed prestige casino offer.
  4. I'm sorry that this wasn't the case for you this time. As you have had these before, it certainly must have seemed like it was legit. Many who booked had never received a $0 offer but booked after reading about it. So for those, like myself, it did seem to be too good to be true.
  5. Did you receive an email offer from Princess with this deal as "bait" or was it from reading on line? If you booked it because you read about it in here and not from a direct offer from Princess, then there isn't any bait and switch. We all knew we were taking the chance when deciding whether or not to book. The terms for Princess are clear that if a mistake like this is made, it does not have to be honored. I feel that Princess is being fair is allowing the booking to remain but with an inside. Nothing had to be offered and it could have just been a straight cancellation. Many who booked discussed hoping it would be honored. The words too good to be true were on here. I had a cabin set aside and all I had to do was hit the last button to book but realized it would be canceled. As exciting as it was to think I could have such a great deal and I have had some decent casino deals on the past, I knew that this was too good to be true and decided not to gamble. Sorry for all of those who are very disappointed.
  6. Agree must be a mistake because the menu was the same one last week on the Enchanted as it's always been,
  7. @dog I've close the thread like you requested. If something happens and you want it opened, just let me know. Congrats!
  8. This has got to be a glitch. I also have it when I'm signed in under my captain's circle account. It shows up with a price if I don't sign in.
  9. He sat with us last night for a cocktail and to chat. Did not know he used to be a youth minister. Genuinely nice guy.
  10. Thank you! I'm home and actually had to pour my own cup of coffee. Reality came crashing back!
  11. If you get a chance to watch Jerrod Cate who is one of the vocalists here on the Enchanted in the production shows, you are in for a treat. He also is out and about on the ship and extremely interesting to chat with.
  12. I came back on board to this absolutely beautiful bouquet, fruit and a lovely note from one the officers. Unrelated to the floord by the way. to say I was touched, doesn't begin to describe it. I am so very thankful to them and will always remember the kindness given to me. The only sad part is that I can't take it off the ship with me.
  13. It was the same last week they said. I do know this was also sold as a 14 day so perhaps that's the reason
