Cool Cruiser (2/15)

If you are self-disembarking, one piece of luggage (plus a backpack?) per person is easier. Keep in mind that if you don't have a hand free when carrying luggage, you need to use the elevator rather than the escalator once you're back in the terminal. If you're putting your luggage out the night before, it doesn't really matter. What you've described as wanting to pack would be what we would pack, except that we'd wear the same outfits for both "dressy" nights. We also go light on shoes, as we have to fly to any cruise ports. We travel with a carry-on size suitcase and a backpack each, plus I have my purse .That works well for us.

Why are circuits not grounded?

chengkp75 no longer needs to respond. John Bull has given a well-thought-out and accurate response. -
Still a good idea about mid-ship room.

When is it ok for a cruise captain to abandon ship?
mammajamma2013 replied to thermal's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
And, in my opinion, this is why we need in-person muster drills. -
Also try your cruises' roll call. On Boards, scroll down until you find Roll Calls, then search for your cruise by line, ship, date. It's actually very easy to do. If there is a roll call already set up, there may be excursions (outside of the ship's excursions) already set up. If nothing else, you may get ideas. The Ports of Call board is also an excellent source, as Capriccio said.

We had the same situation leaving Bueno Aires. We booked an excursion through the ship which included transfers and they took care of the luggage situation. This was a Norwegian cruise.

Alaskan whale excursion with 90-year-old mom and extended family
mammajamma2013 replied to Nisi T's topic in Alaska
The only time I've seen ship excursion passengers given priority is when tenders are being used. Juneau isn't a tender port. Have you checked with your excursion company to be sure a wheelchair is "allowed" on their boat? I ask because there are some excursions that can't accommodate a wheelchair. -
When I log into my account and get to this page, I click on See Details and it requires that I log in again, which I've done. We go round and round!. I've never been able to get the the details. I haven't had time to sit on hold with Holland's IT department, so your information was very helpful.

Thank you for this! I was going crazy trying to find this information on the HAL website.

I don’t even know how to pack for this
mammajamma2013 replied to dmwnc1959's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
I've used Wash Eeze laundry sheets from Amazon. They are used for both washing and drying and you can pack a few sheets (1 per load) rather than the whole box. I've found them to be very good. https://www.amazon.com/WashEZE-Laundry-Detergent-Individual-Efficient/dp/B00C2WAX5G/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2PZZL1DVLCK89&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.h2lXH8vq4Q_838tYHHFXF8PcXSljDmXLGtCaHNGD8ru-GZmDp4OhrvOR_MdJykKRDXmG7I13XqPGnLAsuI5TgOSQi05v5EvouI7Uxp5iexark_tNDjyD8Q_ZYjgBhZtC.QPG1X2P-mtOt7c9sc6DNsSBqHPmzogs2lXfQp7ORTe4&dib_tag=se&keywords=wash+eeze&qid=1710951036&sprefix=wash+eeze%2Caps%2C209&sr=8-6 sorry for the giant link. -

NCL left a notice on our bed the evening before. They picked up laundry that following morning and we had it back that same evening. It was after week one of a two week cruise. -

We used the NCL bag full for $29 and were able to fit two pair of jeans plus t-shirts, socks and underwear without tearing the bag and with room to spare. This was in February/March 2023. NCL is very casual at dinner, no sports coat needed. A nice button shirt or polo shirt is enough. The suggestions you're getting about are great! -
Wear a hat and sunscreen, the Caribbean sun is more intense than farther north. Wet and wear a bandanna around your neck. Loose (flowy) skirts are supposedly cooler than pants and will protect your legs from the sun better than shorts. As Essiesmom stated, stay hydrated and stay in the shade as much as possible.

No, but I've never come home with a respiratory infection. There's only been one cruise where I've come home sick. That was with an ear infection and I blame it on snorkeling. -
I really like Emma Cruises for all the reasons you stated. She also has a very pleasant, cheerful voice.
