  1. For those in Grills check out the 'Deck Bar at the Cabana' same level as the Grills deck just through that door. I discovered it whilst staying onboard in Lisbon not a soul there only me, however, after some time I was intrigued to see several Grill guests who had also discovered it and joined me. A super atmosphere during hot weather and serviced by three former Q. Victoria bar crew members - the only time I really felt at home on QA 😅
  2. Yes, charges are only for beverages.
  3. looking forward to the rest of your posts , if I can add my threepence worth having disembarked yesterday I'm afraid I was underwhelmed with some aspects of my experience, especially the Queens Room and the opportunity for evening dancing .
  4. Often travel in Britannia Club, disembarked Queen Anne this morning from Club Dining . The A 'la Carte additions have remained the same for 'several years' with the exception of the Flambe' desserts that change each evening.
  5. There is a coffee bar almost adjacent - the above venue is opposite the Pursers desk .
  6. The Chef's parade in the Britannia restaurant no longer takes place since the introduction of the 'Open Dining' concept Previously when dining was either early or late "Fixed Dining" the parade would take place twice usually on the final formal evening. Since the pandemic things have greatly changed in the Britannia main dining room . eg no longer the Captains table ( or officers hosted tables) with invited guests . Edited to add; I have just disembarked from Queen Anne where the 'executive chef' visited the Britannia Club restaurant. Briefly stopping at a few tables to interact with a few guests.
  7. There are no coffee machines in the Britannia Category, only in Grills & Britannia Club. Coffee machine facilities are part of the 'enhanced amenities' in Grills/Club only.
  8. Thank You , Keep em coming Solent Richard 👍
  9. The first procedure you'll need to do 'on the morning of arrival into Southampton' will be to collect NEW replacement stateroom keys ( even if you are still occupying your original stateroom) If you decide to disembark in Southampton to explore you will Swipe OUT at the gangway with the old card, and swipe IN on your return with your new key card. You will be able to embark back on the ship only when the embarkation procedures are underway ( You by-pass the check-in desks and show your key card to the terminal agent - you mention you are In -Transit. Re your concerns about seasickness , Queen Mary 2 is poles apart from a cruise ship Silversea, you are sailing on a Transatlantic Ocean Liner, built for the itinerary you have chosen .
  10. Gosh it's going to be dark before I end up driving home. 🥲
  11. As Solent Richard says , We can't give toooo much away 🤫 , however, watch this space 😉
  12. Ooops you are Correct. 🤭 Didn't read 'the date' of original post correctly Thanks for the correction . 👍
  13. The speakers are ; Bill Miller ( Mr Ocean Liner) an amazing speaker, well known to Cunard (QM2) Seasoned guests. You don't want to miss his professional presentation/s Stephen Payne OBE ( chief designer of QM2) Jonathan Quayle (Ocean Liner enthusiast ) I'm also onboard this 'Themed Voyage' we will be celebrating the 400th transatlantic crossing
  14. Yes balcony cabins have dividers that can be opened, you need to contact your stateroom steward who will arrange for it to be open. Opening the divider doesn't make much of a difference to the size of a balcony as 'half of the divider swings open and across to a static divider', however, what it will give you is full access to the balcony next door.
  15. They do, yes and it's quite a gig for them. Fly out to JFK, board QM2 and don't do anything for the first three days, enjoying leisure time below deck and crew bar 😅 then on duty for a couple of hours over two days just looking through passports - and waving our American cousins through without any hassle .😉
