  1. @bobmacliberty I started a long reply to your photoshop post but by the time I finished, everyone else had expressed my thoughts. Very interesting & scary. @dani negreanu wonderful to read that you have a cruise & reunion with your cousin on board - to look forward to in September
  2. Not surprised your son is confused, I got confused reading your post (in a good way). So pleased your newly discovered family & extended family members continue to welcome you with open arms.
  3. By the bay just beat me to it, having a yummy brunch in a Woolwich and just came across the Good Weekend cover courtesy of the cafe. Was going to post a photo of the cover but here’s my brunch instead 🤤
  4. Hate to ask this because I love turtles - but do many get hit by cars? We have kangaroo warning road signs in area (for wallabies) so wondering why there are not turtle signs. I assume there is a reason they are not required.
  5. I’m very sorry to read this but pleased to read you have such lovely neighbours who opened up their home to you for an extended period. Not sure if that welcome cushion is yours or your neighbours but they and their pup truly know the meaning of being welcoming. Glad you were able to find a rental locally & hope the rebuild goes smoothly.
  6. My DS has swapped soccer & cricket for hiking in Canada. This week they came across their first mama bear. The cubs were nearby but his hiking group didn’t spot them. They were doing a long hike on a popular trail. Later on, on the same trail they saw a ranger with a tranquilliser gun. Is that something they do in Canada - move bears away from popular hikes - if they see them early in the season?
  7. That’s impressive that they won all tournaments. Congratulations to the team & Owen especially to Owen for being player of the game. I remember those wild changes in temps across the season for soccer.
  8. We have kamikaze brush turkeys that dart across a busy road near us. Some of the locals did put up handwritten signs “slow down - turkeys crossing” but I think the council took them down. The brush turkeys are pretty speedy though so I don’t think one has been hit yet….
  9. @FromSea2ShiningSea Happy Birthday to your mom. How wonderful that she has reached 96 and was surrounded by so many of her family to celebrate. @h20skibum Happy Birthday to your daughter. Wishing her a long happy life & the current treatment to be a distant memory. Happy Birthday to your SIL too.
  10. Greg, I am doing a special small group tour of the Opera House soon. This is the info. Hopefully I can ask about the Vivid projections on the sails with the experts for you.
  11. And my final installation viewing was on the roof of the Maritime Museum & projected on HMAS Vampire which is moored at the museum. You won’t be surprised to learn that this year’s theme is Vivid Sydney, Naturally. Mother Nature. Still got theRoyal Botanic Gardens to see & considering seeing the installations at Taronga Zoo, which I’ve never seen before.
  12. Then I continued onto Darling Harbour. Outside The Crown, there was this gorgeous installation. You can kinda see it in the photos - in the water surrounding the floating installation were lights that flickered like jumping fish. Really well done.
  13. After viewing another couple of interesting installations on Barangaroo Reserve, I headed indoors to The Cutaway at Barangaroo. Three consecutive silent documentaries were projected on all four walls of a large room.
  14. This one was in Barangaroo. It was beautiful to look at and listen to. Sat on a park bench and watched it a couple of times, with the Harbour Bridge changing colour in the background.
  15. Then walked under the Harbour Bridge and came across this amazing installation at Pier One. It was a combo of water, video projection & sound. Amazing. (Couldn’t find the info sign in the dark for this one) and my photos don’t do it justice.
  16. As is often the case at Vivid, you turn around from taking photos of one installation and you see something else that is fab. You really need to see a video of this to appreciate the amazing detail. It was so good I watched it 3 times before moving on.
