I have no reason to not believe that you have written confirmation. Problem is, it conflicts with what their stated policy is. “Departing on-or-before” does not mean “booked by”. It’s this type of ambiguity that is driving people crazy.
Q : How long will I have to redeem my Future Cruise Credit?
A : All Cruise with Confidence Future Cruise Credits must be redeemed on sailings departing on-or-before December 31, 2021.mac_tlc
Yes that's what I seen on the website to
but he said as long as it's booked by 31st December 2021 its classed as redeemed and I asked to speak to a manager as I thought the same but he sent me confirmation in writing
you can also call and see what they tell u but that's what I have been told

Royal would be stupid not to offer a FCC seeing as the U.S. State Department has advised all U.S. citizens not to cruise; the U.S. Health Secretary is reportedly pushing the President to support a temporary ban on cruises; 2 Princess ships have had passengers quarantined; 2 Princess ships have been denied entry to U.S. ports so that crew members can be tested; Carnival canceled stops in Jamaica and Grand Cayman; and 3 workers at Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale have tested positive for Coronavirus, etc. It has been a public relations nightmare. There are those that fear contracting coronvarius. And, at this point, I dare say that there are even more that fear being quarantined on their ship, having ports cancelled and/or being denied re-entry to their departure port.
Given this, I would respectfully suggest that Royal should extend the 12/31/2021 re-booking requrement through at least 2022. And, there is mounting pressure for cruises lines to issue full refunds to those traveling in the next couple of months.
I have called them and have written confirmation that you can use the FCC for 2022-2023.
As long as the cruise is booked by 31st December 2021

Yes they could, but these are exceptional circumstances, if your are a regular cruiser yes I can see your point of view. But a lot of people choose a cruise to celebrate a special occasion at a price point and location that suits them at the time, an offerer of a trip in the future at an unknown price would not be ideal for all.
spot on
our reasons is we plan in having a baby after the cruise we were going to do and I don't want to go to the Caribbean with Zika virus then once the baby is born they can't go on a cruise anyway for the at least 6 months so it really leaves 2021 out the question for us

It means that Royal isn’t taking advantage of anyone, pretty simple. Legally they didn’t have to offer ANYTHING if one chose not to cruise.
Well the way things are going I can see cruises been cancelled anyway by royal

That would be nice if true but it certainly is not what is stated. Hope you got the rep's name
You should call and ask them. The rep sent me a email confirming that information as I wanted proof

It that does not mean that Royal is taking advantage of you (as was stated in the post I was replying to) they are doing the best possible under extenuating circumstances.
What do u mean

One could argue they could just tell you “sucks to be you but our cancellation policy is what it is” I think they are being more than fair.
Yes but if I cant travel next year it doesn't help
thankfully I just called them and it only needs booked by December 31st 2021. And can be use on a 2022 cruise or even 2023 if there out

They are giving you over one 1/2 years to use it more like 1 3/4
With the way this virus is going I can't see us feeling safe of a sailing this year and next year we are unable to go

Hi
i have a cruise in June I want to cancel because of this virus
after this I am unable to go on another cruise in till 2022. Can I use the voucher for 2022 as long as it's booked by 31st December 2021?

We get the UDP on Oasis class ships and love it however we will only get the 3 day package for our upcoming cruise on Anthem as there are not enough different restaurants to choose from to have a variety. That being said if the prices drop on Black Friday to what I would have paid for the old 5 night package then I will buy it.
See that’s what am thinking. I only have a choice of two restaurants and am not fussed ether way on wonderland so do I really need the unlimited dinning plan -

I realise it's a personal preference, but what's wrong with the MDR?
We have an 11 night coming up, and have booked the three night package plus one night at Chops for my partner's birthday, and the Mystery theatre dinner.
That's 5 nights in specialty dining, leaving six nights for either MDR or windjammer (probably MDR for us).
I don't think MDR is so bad that we'd pay for the UDP. We definitely like to try the specialty dinning, hence the choices we've made above. We also don't do Izumi, so on Radiance, we have Chops, Giovanni's and Samba for our three night package.
I suppose on larger ships there are more options, but our OP hasn't mentioned the five night package as an option... is it not available for your sailing?
We don't normally do a big lunch either, so that wouldn't factor in it for us.
yeah there was no 5 night optionwe don’t do Izumi and we aren’t that keen on wonderland food so that only leaves chops and Jamie’s
if I do the three night package plus one lunch at Jamie’s that would mean going twice to chops and twice to Jamie’s and saving over 100 pounds
I’m starting to think would u really want to be going back to them much more than that 😕

I just booked UDP. My plan is to make reservations the first few nights, then decide what I want to go back to on the last few nights.
Only thing is I would only be going back to two resturants so wasn't to sure if it was worth doing or if the three night was enough

Go UDP, then you can visit ones you like the most multiple times. Each restaurant has so many dishes to try that you truly cant in just one visit. (I know you could) but realistically not enjoy
Yeah mybe your right
I was going to do 2 chops and 2 Jamie's if not and that would save just over hundred, means I would be going to these 3/4 times each though 🤔
-
What would everyone else pick if they were me

That's not so bad then, in fact the unlimited sounds like a good deal, it's currently £182.25 pp on our 9 night on Quantum and has been higher.
Yeah it's a hard one because one of the resturants we wouldn't go to, then wonderland not to fussed on. So I think that would only leave chops, Jamie's, and jr, can't decide if a three night one plus the lunch and Jamie's is enough 🤔

Are these prices for 2 of you? They sound very high.
Yes that's for two in British pounds

I just called my credit card company and they said my money would be refunded by them as part of some credit act for not receiving goods/service
thank goodness for that if they did happen
