  1. It should be covered by the house insurance, if it has have accidental damage cover.
  2. That assumes that P&O read cruising social media sites, I know that the Royal Caribbean group do, and Princess also encourage CC meet and mingle get togethers, but I have never noticed any P&O interest.
  3. I did book our MDR evening dining well in advance but the latest time I could book a sharing table was 18:40, and I booked all our meals in the same MDR and all at 18:40. However our MDR host quickly recognised us (maybe because of my wifes wheelchair )and without arranging it, we were able to arrive at any time within an hour of that, and still receive prompt service. Interestingly we again found most couples were pushed towards tables for two, which I think Princess are finding enables them to seat more passengers. The 2 tops seemed to be turned round 3 and sometimes 4 times, where some sharing tables were only used once, presumably as passengers enjoyed the congeniality, and stayed well beyond the recomended 2 hour dinin time.
  4. I remember their being a tightening of the take on board liquor allowance a few years ago. I think it lasted a couple of years before petering out as staff members found it just as difficult to police, as they do the sunlounger booking.
  5. I suspect quiteca few oily dollar Bill's will have found their way into some influential PL officials pockets.
  6. I would have preferred Arsenal to have won the league, at least Arteta has built his team with judicious spending, whereas Peps team has been gold plated with oil revenues.
  7. If you book via a TA then the form is definitely not completed as part of the booking process, because that is done by the TA, whereas the form has to be completed by the passenger.
  8. Thank you @Megabear2, although I think it is an odd place to show that information.
  9. I think the Cunard personaliser is possibly more akin to Princess which also calls it a cruise personaliser. Does anyone else know how to find out if you have been allocated an evac chair on a P&O booking.
  10. @Selbourne, can you detail your procedure for the above, I cannot see the your calendar option when I log onto my account. Maybe it's because I am using my smart phone, and not a tablet or lap top.
  11. A further possibly final comment on food quality comparison. We had afternoon tea in the buffet the other day, and as well as warm freshly baked scones, they had genuine clotted cream as well as jam, and we also had a couple of the sandwiches, and desserts which were delicious. The P&O chefs should take lessons from Princess in how to make edible pastry. We watched the wait staff in the buffet today and were impressed with how efficient they all were, ensuring tables were cleared quickly, and the tea, coffee and juice service is also very efficient, and the orange juice is stronger and sweeter than the watery stuff provided on P&O. You will have gathered from my posts that I am far more impressed with Princess service and food quality standards than with P&O, but rather than bore everyone with a final update, I will be happy to answer any specific points you might have.
  12. On P&O we do very little other than unpack and then get ready for dinner, because very little is happening. On Princess we head for the Piazza grab a drink and listen to whichever on board group is performing.
  13. Why would the HSEE be interested in what alcohol and how much is permitted to be taken on board by passengers.
  14. I have seen many people who use rollators or walking sticks on our current cruise, who I would seriously doubt could safely use the stairs in an emergency. Obviously I do not know if they have filled in a medical questionnaire, or indeed if they have requested assistance, but I suspect there will be some who have not indicated they will need help.
  15. Just checked our Princess cruise history and P&O cruises stopped in 2018. However even before that it was patchy, we had done two 28 night roundtrip caribbean cruises and one 35 nighter up to 2018, and only one 28 nighter is credited by Princess. Fortunately we are Elite so the missing ones don't matter.
  16. Booking via P&O possibly does require the passenger to complete the medical questionnaire before the booking ccan be completed, since I use a TA I don't know if this is true. However booking via a TA certainly does not necessitate completing the questionnaire at the time of booking. I have only done one booking so far since the new system was brought in, and even though I use the well known north midlands TA, I gained more info about where to find the form from CC than from them. For anyone not on CC then I suspect they will be flummoxed about where to find the form, especially if they use a smart phone in portraight rather than landscape mode. However most cruise passengers are aware about the need to complete all the pre cruise data, so IMHO the best place for the form is as the very first item on the pre cruise data, and this data should be completed within, say, 2 weeks of booking the cruise, or earlier if booked after final payment date.
  17. Why on earth do you think they would need extra staff to check forms where passengers have said nothing to report?????
  18. I agree, a family ship definitely needs a "Splashaway Bay" type water feature for youngsters from 3-14, as well as some adult water slides.
  19. Yes of course any sensible person would see that that is the best way to guarantee that the correct information is collected from everyone.
  20. P&O really need to make the form mandatory, then able bodied passengers would just state that no assistance is required, end of, whilst anyone answering yes, would then complete it with their details. But I doubt that they will.
  21. That might well be possible, if balance is the main issue then someone might be perfectly capable of pushing their wheelchair on the flat, but find it impossible to climb coach steps.without assistance.
  22. From this it seems that P&O are trying to reduce the number of wheelchairs taken on board. If a passenger in a standard cabin sometimes needs a wheelchair for long trips ashore, but would be able to use the stairs on an emegency and have no need for an evac chair, and follows the rules of not leaving the wheelchair in the corridor, and keeps it in his cabin when not using it. Then what other possible reason could P&O have for denying him boarding?
  23. I suspect your guess is as good as anyones, and probably far better than a P&O booking agent.
  24. If the restriction specifically states alcoholic drinks, then by inference soft drinks are not restricted.
