  1. Someone posted this on another Carnival page I follow. Not a bad looking meal for $15...
  2. We were on the Horizon in May and thought the food was fine. We ate the MDR every night and enjoyed it. Not sure what all the complaints are about
  3. I was on the Horizon in May and the ac in my cabin worked just fine... This is the fan we take with us. It's packs small but it's telescopic, it oscillates and provides plenty of airflow. LIPETY Foldable Oscillating Standing Fan with Remote Control, 8" Portable Desk Quiet Fan, 7200mah Rechargeable USB Small Fan, Folded Floor Pedestal Fan for Bedroom Office Camp Travel https://a.co/d/arxsJBw
  4. Is your daughter cruising on Carnival? I've never seen or heard of Carnival serving Starbucks coffee. That would be a welcome surprise though lol
  5. Just returned from 6 days on the Horizon. We ate in the MDR most nights and the food was terrible...all we could do to choke it down lol. Jk Jk. Seriously I can't understand all the negative comments about the MDR being inedible and what not. Like I said we ate there most nights for dinner and we had nothing to complain about. Sure there were no tablecloths...big deal..the food and service were good and it didn't take forever to finish a meal.
  6. That's ridiculous! They're taking this dog thing way to far... People are going on vacation not to prison.
  7. My upcoming cruise on the Horizon was booked under rate code RU3 which is cheers to you. I got the cheers package for $300 for the both of us for a week. Sounded like a deal to me.
  8. Years ago the Conquest Class ships had that included seafood spot in the aft section of the ship above the Lido deck. They had a few different offerings and one was fried oysters and they were delicious! Wish they still had that option. I had them several times on the Freedom and Glory and always enjoyed them.
  9. They say to only eat oysters in months that have an "r" in them. I'm a big fan of oysters though I've never had them on board a cruise ship. We do buy them by the bushel sack occasionally and it may take a couple days to go through them but as long as they're kept cold they're fine.
  10. Same for me. Sometimes I doctor them up with a bit of horseradish too...yum yum lol
  11. That's a hard no from me! There's no way im sleeping on bloody, stinky, dirty stained sheets one night let alone 3. If the cabin steward refused to change them I'd be headed to guest services with those nasty sheets. Unbelievable... Sorry you had to experience such a mess.
  12. Been reading a lot about the Horizon being hot lately...hope they get that worked out soon. The last thing anyone wants to be while trying to sleep is hot.
  13. No, but I see they had trap shooting on the promenade deck...bet that would get interesting after a few cocktails lol
  14. Saw Jorge Solano on the Glory...he was the best I've seen on a cruise.
  15. I called carnival a few days ago before purchasing FTTF for our upcoming cruise and the rep told me we could check-in with the diamond and platinum guests 16 days prior to sailing.
  16. Hope they get the ac fixed asap. Definitely not a fan of hot hot hot...I keep my ac set on crushed ice lol
  17. We're you able to get an early arrival time?
  18. That's what I thought and the reason I asked...wonder why Carnival would give false information
  19. So I purchased FTTF for our upcoming cruise on the Horizon. I've never had FTTF before and I had some questions. I called Carnival and spoke to a representative who told me we can check in 16 days prior to the sailing with the diamonds and platinums and we can show up early. I've read on here recently that some people were having to wait until 14 days prior to sailing to check in and were bound to their arrival time. Anyone have a recent experience with FTTF? Just curious how this is working these days...
  20. I can't believe all this "if I smell smoke I'm telling" stuff. Give me a break... If someone pays a premium for a balcony and discreetly takes a few puffs how are any of you gonna know who to tell on. Most people aren't gonna stand against the rail and expose themselves and as long as nobody is on the balcony to the left or right you can't pinpoint the source. How about everyone mind their own business and enjoy being on vacation.
  21. In September I booked a balcony on the Horizon and at the time they were running a promotion where we got Cheers for $300 for our 6 day cruise. I know it won't be hard to win on that deal.
  22. On my upcoming 6 day on the Horizon they offered a promotion for cheers at the time of booking and I believe it was $300 for both of us. We've never done the cheers package before but for that price it's worth it.
  23. I haven't been on the Freedom in a while but I had no complaints when we last sailed her. I had a balcony on the lido and wouldn't hesitate to book another if she makes her way back to Miami.
  24. Those look delicious! Counting down the days till I can try them.
