  1. we're sailing on Victory on April 13,first time on this ship 2nd cruise with Carnival. We have a balcony stateroom,is it correct that there are no small fridges in the room?Hub has to have water ready at all times from radiation treatment years ago.;)

  2. Hi,we're doing a Western Caribbean sailing on the Victory on April 13th from Miami. It was originally docking in Falmouth ,Jamaica, and a little over a week ago my PVP called to let us know that it had been changed to Montego Bay,Jamaica. The excursion were were taking included lunch at Scotchies, and that excursion has now been cancelled.Has anyone been to Montego Bay?Any suggestions besides hiring a cab to drive us around as hub isn't much of a beach nut! Thank you!

  3. Be advised that there is a LOT of security people and police and security dogs at the port. Its my understanding that there is more security due to drug smuggling,as we were watching the food and drink pallets being offloaded from trucks onto the ground with drug sniffing police dogs checking everything. This has been the only time I've seen so much security before boarding.Don't be worried, just keep your passport available at all times on the way onto the ship. You'll be checked a number of times. Its actually for your own safety!;)

  4. Good Morning, and thank you for the feedback. We sailed on Freedom before she had drydock in ,so we didn't sail with any of the new features that have since been added.

Serene,we're sailing on April 13th next year. Our CP said she was doing drydock in March, and there's a sailing before ours.Yep,we did alot of comparing with DCL which probably hurt us,but don't intened to this time,as we want to cruise and enjoy ourselves.

As for the port excursions,is theere ever any way that groups are arranged before you leave the ship,or is it always just left up to te pasengers to get to the group ontime?

Also I'd love to hear any recommendations as to evening shows, food, etc. We booked a room on the 7th deck, and the CP told us that was a good deck to be on.

    Also,this is a 6 day cruise,so does that include a formal,and a semi formal night too?

Domino, thank you for your suggestion.Any other ideas will be gratefully accepted!;)

  5. Hi,The day before I happened to see a 299$ per person offer on the Carnival website. We did our 1st Carnival cruise in Jan for our anniversary because it had the same ports as Disney Fantasy with a couple more added. The ports were great but the ship was terrible. We had anytime dining, and the food was subpar.Trying to get seated with a serving team we found we like was almost impossible, the people at the front were rude about it everytime. We loved theseaday brunch and the food from room service, and the pizza and drinks, but there was very little we cared for at lunch or breakfast on the Lido deck. Most of the time the workers acted like they could have cared less.At night we'd get woken up by noise across the hall apparently there was some kind of service area.

We had a cruise to the western Caribbean booked on Fantasy, and usually prepay gratuities, and get insurance,so when I saw the western sailing on Victory, for half the price I grabbed it.I just learned she'll be out of drydock shortly before we sail,so I'd like to know about what to expect on The Victory?I'm not ready to give up just yet!:D

  6. we sailed The Wonder late May to Alaska and were very pleased. We love the lunches they serve in Parrot Cay,or anytime for that matter. We had a great service staff.Hub got sick a couple days before our return, and the head waiter called that evening when we missed dinner. He met me in Cabanas the next morning with the dinner menu for the evening. It arrived in our room hot,and very tasty with some extra goodies. We'll be sailing on our 3rd time on her in January next year.Very enjoyable. It may be older but its very clean, and well kept up!

  7. I did Jamaica this past summer in June and would strongly reccomend:

    Liberty Tours Jamaica- http://www.libertytoursjamaica.com/#!falmouth-/c179g

    Irie Blue Hole/Secret Falls

    Duration- 4-5 hours

    Scotchies Lunch Included

Give Ricardo a call and he'll take good care of you!!! :)

Check this video of the Secret Falls / Blue Hole in Jamaica....

    Good Luck!:p

Thank you for the info, the video was great!I'm assuming that they work a bit with us older folks who want to go but just don't get around as easily.:eek:Are the prices also reasonable too?

  8. we sailed on the Magic in September and there were alot of large family groups. One group was of 42 people. As ex techie stated, they are put in large groups at oval tables.A few nights our table was close by,and everyone at those tables were able to converse easily, and have enough room next to each other.
