  1. Have only done one E Class ( Ascent).
We loved it.  Won’t go back to any other class if we book X again. No brand loyalty anymore, we’re at the stage of booking itinerary we like rather than staying with one cruise line. Makes it more exciting for us.
Fortunately there’s soo many choices available for everyone.

  2. We agree Ascent is fabulous.
We had Cpt. Demetrius and Luigi and for the first time also wonder if we should choose a cruise based on CD and Cpt.

Also curious re: your  O experience.
Booked Vista for this summer ( cheaper PH 10 night than Ascent  Retreat 7 night) and Regent  for Panama Canal( definitely not cheaper lol, but itinerary works) and we want to try  Regent.

  3. @REDSTRIPETYPE@TRLD, thank you for your posts.

@judi666, I went back and read your review as well. Appreciate your comments.

The  few rude responses were not surprising to me at all.

We are trying O in a few months and I like reading the different opinions out there.

The O regulars love their chosen line and that’s great but for us newbies it’s good to have different viewpoints.

We are not expecting Fine Dining but do hope it’s as good as SD on Edge class.
We expect Chair hogs, less entertainment options than on X and an older demographic. But hopefully no one who chooses an excursion thats beyond their capabilities.

It’s a port intensive cruise so I’m sure it will all work out. We’re going for the ports and not so much the ship.

  4. Is Vista not the last ship departing port?

We’ve booked an O excursion to the beach as we’ve been many times including a land stay to Santorini). We have considered staying on board but it’s soo gorgeous and I’d like to do some shopping. O

We thought we’d wait till the other ships had departed before even attempting to join the line.

  5. Thanks all for the info.
After the encouragement from this board,  we have decided to try the 2 nighter.

However I’ve since noticed a 5 nighter from Quebec City to NYC. As it’s  doable for us time wise and being based on the Eastern seaboard , it makes for easy short break for us. A good way to  potentially see  the  Fall leaves in QC and maybe along the route  as well.

If you had the choice , may I assume the 5 nighter would be a more complete experience?
    There’s only 1 Port Day.

    Thanks again.

  6. Hi all, it’s our first time on Cunard.

We will be arriving Southampton on an NCL cruise from Iceland and are considering embarking the next day on a 2 nighter on QM2 to Hamburg,(instead  of heading to London for a few days).

I’ve always wanted to go on the QM2 but a TA is not doable for the next few years.

Would this be enough to get a good feeling for the ship?

Looking at entry level Queens Grill suite. Deck 9 or 10.Not a connecting cabin.

    Thank you for any advice.

  7. We booked a Split Cabana on Ascent in Feb .

It was worth it imo. However, the split ones are on each end and I found them to be very windy.
We were fortunate to be moved to a full one in the middle, which was way more comfortable.

In future, I would definitely book a Cabana on Ascent for at least a couple days as we like being on the main pool deck a few times. The location is great, facing the pool deck. If you like sitting and watching or being in the action it’s great, as the loungers do get bagged/ hogged very early.

Even if only 2 people I will book a full cabana moving forward.

Do go early  9/930 on  the morning of  to choose your cabana.
    Enjoy.

  8. We’ve booked 03 Jan’26.

Not retired yet so cannot do the 16/17 day cruises. We will debark in Panama City, and spend  a couple days.

    Celebrity Refugees, exploring other options.
Have an O cruise on Vista this summer and Prima to Iceland in ‘25.

Will still cruise Edge class if it’s just in the Caribbean and  looking for some sun, RCL with the family in ‘25  , but we’re aging out of only big ship cruising.

  9. Thanks for the info.

Have decided to book 01/26 PC.
Decided on a Concierge Category E.

Is this a good starting point, size wise for a Regent cabin?
I like the bed facing the ocean and the early booking option for dining and I figure a night precruise in Miami can add up at that time of the year, so it made sense to book this category.

    Thanks.
