  1. 2 Hot Capps and fruit plate delivered on time this am. Trolley had a few carafes and other plates as well.

I quite like not having to get up  change and  stand in line at Al Bacio for early morning Capps so works great for me.

  2. In SS  on Ascent. Just met our Room Steward and when I asked about Cappucinos every morning he said the Butler would take care of it.
Half an hour later Butler showed up and introduced himself and said it was no problem. His first day on Ascent , but was on Beyond pre vacation.

Things may be turning around.  Ship is gorgeous.

  3. @zitsky, Apex,  Prime Aqua Class cabins on Deck 9 and 10 seem to be a good location to me. Cabins above and below ,next to and in some cases even across from other cabins.

Am I missing something about them? Looking at booking Apex to Norway potentially( have booked Prima but reviews are so extreme that we’re now ambivalent about NCL). Thanks.

  4. Appreciate all the info.

Ive been reading and trying to glean as much info as possible as this will be our first time with NCL.

We’ve booked for the itinerary, so for now will keep it and see how the reviews pan out.

We’re assuming we have to get to Indulge early if we want to try it and plan on prebooking Specialties as early as possible.

Will temper our expectations and focus on the ports.
    Thank you.

  5. My sister did Millenium in Dec. 23

Mumbai to Singapore and really enjoyed it.

We’re looking at O , Riviera, as it does Singapore to HK and it has all the key ports in Vietnam and 1 stop to Cambodia.

Overnight in Bangkok doenst appeal as the port is soo far from the city (so will probly stay on land that night) and we’ve been on a land tour through Thailand so was not high on my to do list but the rest of the ports are great.

  6. When we travel with our sons and their families we book Balconies ( did Equinox in July , 3 balconies ) or we choose RC or Disney as it’s more  kid friendly.

If it’s a family trip off course I want to eat with my children and grandchildren and we don’t have to have a suite so I know going in what type of cabin I’ll be booking.

If you must have a suite and your friends/ family cannot do so , simple imo adjust to what they can afford , change lines or change cruise date.

Purchasing the package makes sense for sure. I’d definitely factor it in next time, since many on this thread seem to feel it’s not an issue.

With all the Retreat changes and promoting of various programs to upgrade one’s cruise experience in a regular cabin , do feel we paid a premium a year ago for very diluted product that we will receive next week. Will see if I rebook a suite on X , more likely will move down to Aqua if it’s an itinerary I really like.

For now moving on to O, NCL and looking at SS.( price for Caribbean on Ray in 2025 is same as what we’re paying next week for Retreat )

  7. Hi all, new to O and still waiting to cruise Vista in July.

Looking at Asia on Riviera, A2. Deck 9. Do we need to be worried about the bathroom size and rather go for a PH? Thank you.
I seem to recall reading somewhere that the older ships have very tiny showers or am I incorrect? Thank you.

  8. Agree with Mayfair.

Its perfectly located for all attractions.

Walkable  across the park to Harrods as well.

Hotels tend to be a bit more in this area.

We’re in London every July to visit family and usually change locations so the city always feels fresh to us.

Last year we stayed at the Chesterfield Mayfair. Lovely old British style hotel. Read reviews as rooms  can be a bit small.
In 2022 we stayed at The Bloomsbury Hotel. I preferred the decor and rooms ( still small, but that’s Europe) .Location was ok for what we wanted to do. Still walkable to many places  and The British Museum is very close by, but I felt we could walk to many more places from Mayfair.

This summer we've booked the Hilton Trafalgar.

  9. @ak1004, thank you for your perspective.
You are correct that the SS can be more than PH on O.

SD being included is a definite plus, but having to book 75 days is not. On X, I booked months ago and I prefer it this way rather than a midnight scramble to try and get the two top and time I would prefer.

Our O, 10 day on Vista is a third cheaper than our X , 7day in Retreat( despite us booking a year ago for this cruise).

I’m even looking at Riviera for an Asia cruise as again the price is very competitive.

Due to the current cutbacks and unpredictability of X,( but really all lines) we are looking at other options.
    Have NCL booked for 2025.

However, being that no line is perfect, we will try out O and decide if a small ship is for us.

We like the quietness of Retreat but the ability to be in the thick of things if we feel like a change.(Late night music, comedians etc).

We are concerned about the lack of entertainment, comments that the O ships are very quiet after 1030pm( so we chose a port intensive cruise with no sea days)and  if the food will live up to their marketing, but will go with no expectations and hope to be pleasantly surprised.
I’m not too thrilled about being forced to choose excursions with O, but the price was right and money talks lol!

Looking forward to trying O and whichever cruise line fits our budget and travel needs.

We are not brand loyal anymore.
