I apologize if you already said and I missed it, but were you on a Carnival ship last week? And if so, did you happen to ask at guest services if it would be a problem for you to leave the ship in Aruba on a future cruise without any issues? Seems like that would have been your best course of action. If you were on Celebrity, do they not have a cruise that will work for your dates?

I been cruising Celebrity only since 2018, not Carnival.  That is correct, Celebrity does not have the dates we need.

OP you will have to report your results so if someone else has the same question it can be answered.

Actually there are some sarcastic people on here, they don't deserve the answer but if anybody has the same question I know they will post and I will give them the info.  Its a shame, some people have to ruin it for everybody.

And it does not really matter what answers are provided in this forum as the only answer that really matters is from the cruise line.

That is the problem, they are saying no out of convenience because they do not know exactly who to ask to get the answer then I got two agents who said just miss the ship, it happens.  This is my problem, I am not getting an answer from Carnival.

What you really mean is that you will keep asking until you get the answer you want.  EM

Until I get somebody that actually did this and can actually give true results.  Some people here do understand the true PVSA laws, like I do, it is not a violation to start off in a US port and disembark in a foreign port.

You still pay the fees incurred by Carnival,  no matter what reason you use.  I think it is about $800 pp.

Carnival will receive no fines since I will disembark in a foreign country, they will receive fines if I disembark in a US port different port than when I started the cruise with.

Fine you for what? It's not a PVSA violation.

Carnival can't hold you hostage. If they won't approve an early debark in advance, just have a family emergency the night before and go to Guest Services telling them you need to disembark in Aruba.

You are correct, it is not a PVSA violation.  The problem with people is they do not do the research in learning the actual rules/regulations, your correct.  Departing in Aruba does not violate this law because it is not a US port.

I would tell guest services that I will be leaving the ship for sure.  They can't hold us hostage I can simply say that I just want to spend more time in this port and show them proof of my hotel reservation and my airline information to return back to the states.

You need to have special permission from Carnival, and I don't think they are giving it.  You could just leave the ship, but, you could be given fines onboard the ship and such and banned from all futire Carnival, and carnival corp sailings.

According to the PVSA rules, the cruise lines will have no fines since I started out in a US port and leaving in a foreign port.  It is not allowed if you start in a US port and end in another US port, so the cruise lines can't charge me any fees as they won't incur any.

Aruba Customs sent me the ED Customs card that I must fill out and it does have a question how I will arrive to Aruba and it has the option of choosing by sea and they ask the ship name.

I would let guest services know I will be leaving the ship but if I do get banned it won't matter we graduated to Celebrity, our last cruises all have been on Celebrity.  But I highly doubt I be banned.

  8. Thinking of taking a cruise and getting off at the port of Aruba, staying a few days and flying back.  I know people will say its impossible but I called Aruba Customs and they said its fine, as long as I fill out online the customs card that I am arriving by sea and flying back to the states on air.

I know people miss the ship at ports or have emergencies where they need to disembark the ship at a port and fly back home, has this happened to anybody and if so, did you run into any problems or have to get special permission?

I realize cruises can't hold us hostage, and the PUSA law does not apply to us as we are disembarking from the US to a foreign port so it is allowed.

We really want to take a partial cruise and stay 9 nights in Aruba, like to hear your thoughts.

  9. Hello,

We are conceding booking a panoramic oceanview on the Freedom of the Seas and have some questions:

Would we feel ship movement more in these rooms since they are very forward and on deck 12?

Will we hear any noises (we had the same room on a celebrity cruise last week but we were on deck 8 where every morning an hour before docking in port we heard loud noises we believe were from the lines/ropes for docking)

    Thank you.

  10. Yes, it happened to us but they gave us the certificate in our cabin past 8pm the last evening (this past Saturday on the Beyond) and it had a code with a bunch of sailings that goes till march 2025.  We noticed we received aqua class as usual but it said if we book on the ship FutureCruise we be upgraded to a sky suite only future cruise was closed that evening.  I called yesterday and explained future cruise was closed when we received our certificate on the last evening and well we lost out.  But, I won over 10k jackpot and will just keep the money and not give it back since they won't honor the sky suite upgrade.  It was not our fault that we received the certificate late when future cruise was already closed.

She accumulated points to receive that offer and yes, she had to spend quite a bit of money unless she won a jackpot.

  11. We just got off yesterday the Celebrity Beyond, 8 night cruise to the ABC islands.  We had an excellent over all cruise.  We have reservations to go to Aruba for 11 nights in August (2024) and wondering if anybody ever taken a cruise and got off at a port to stay?  We already have our hotel stay there for August and our return airfare (Aruba to Florida) and I realize the Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886 allows us to take the cruise out of the US and disembark in a foreign territory with no issues.  I also contacted Aruba Customs who verified we are allowed to get off the ship and stay in Aruba and fly out from there providing we complete our customs ED card to return back to the states and now to figure out how to get the ship to pre approve providing us with a cruise immigration form to be completed by them to allow us to do this.  Has anybody gotten off the ship and stayed at a port?

    Review of the Beyond

We cruised this ship before and many of the workers remembered us plus in October we were on the Equinox and workers from that ship moved over to the Beyond, we pretty much knew everybody on that ship.

Cabin steward was the best in all my 105 cruises, every time we went back and fourth to our cabin, we always saw him, he was always there day and night and was excellent.

Oceanview Cafe, amazing, with so many choices, we even had dinner twice here and all the food was excellent.  I just wished it wasn't I wouldn't of eaten as much hahaha.

Cabin was always cool, its the only cruise line that we get cool temperatures in our cabin and the pillows were great and bedding.  We booked this last minute so had a guarantee oceanview which they gave us a deluxe oceanview very forward on deck 8.  Disadvantage is that when we docked each time in port an hour before we heard noises that woke us up, we believe it was the lines/etc. for docking.  I would not get this forward cabin again but the room was much larger and a huge huge window in it too.

    MDR food very good.

We do not go to the shows but heard they were excellent.

We also only saw one child on board during our entire cruise and the ship was full and it did not feel like it either.

Casino treated me very nicely, won a 10+k jackpot.

    Negatives:

Oceanview Cafe did not provide all the drink/bar servers like the Equinox did, therefore, most of the time we had to get our drinks ourselves. (liquor)

MDR service by the waiters were excellent, but most of the nights there (we tried three different dining rooms) we were not able to get a drink with dinner.  They really need to improve this issue.

We received a comp cruise with many offers using the bar codes, but it was given to us during our last evening and was placed in our cabin after we showered/dress for dinner which we left our room at 8:15pm and when we returned to our cabin we saw the certificate and noticed if we booked future cruise we would of been upgraded to Sky Suite but the Future Cruise Desk was closed at night.  I called Celebrity about this while on our drive home only for them to say we lost our upgrade to Sky Suite.  I explained it was given to us during our last evening and late they can not honor the upgrade.  They really need to give these certificates at least the night before the last evening.

Overall we loved this ship so much that we rather not fly to Aruba in August and spend a few days on the ship, to have the luxury of doing a few days cruise plus our yearly two week vacation land stay in Aruba.

  12. Hello all,

We have anytime dining but have a question, if we dine at a particular restaurant around 7:45pm and we find we love the waiter if we ask to have the same waiter each evening at the same time do they accommodate?

Well, in all fairness to the OP both @keesar and @Arizona Wildcat gave them the incorrect answer for their standard stateroom. So I guess just testing the waters again to see what the variable answers would be. Or just forgetful... that happens to some of us as we get older.

I knew as you mentioned that some people did not give the correct answer because I know as a fact bigalow products are for concierge class and up.  I am trying to see if somebody knows the actual brand that I will get.  Not forgetful, just didn't get a brand name other than somebody saying generic for celebrity.

  14. 9 hours ago, kwokpot said:

They don't. On all Celebrity ships, the standard toiletries are unbranded and made specifically for Celebrity. This question was already asked an answered multiple times by the same person,IIRC.

I asked again because I still didn't get an answer as to the brand, other than I just noticed somebody above posting it is a generic brand, cabins that are under concierge class.  Bigelow brand are for concierge and above staterooms.

  15. Hello,

We always stayed in aqua class but we booked 6 weeks out of our upcoming cruise and we only had a choice of a deluxe oceanview.  What brand of shampoo/conditioner will be in these rooms?  We love bigelow products in fact I buy them to use at home.

  16. Its very annoying and sad that people can't sleep due to these noises.  We are going on the beyond next week because she goes to the ABC islands and is a 8 night cruise, we only have been getting balcony cabins for over 25 years now, we decided not to chance having this problem so we chose a deluxe oceanview stateroom on deck 8 very forward, and so far nobody has mentioned about these noises on these cabins or any of the oceanview cabins or inside cabins.  Will I miss the balcony, no, I rather sleep and not have the balcony lol  I really feel bad for everybody who couldn't sleep.

I have read through most of this thread, and I’m trying to cross reference room numbers to locations on the ship. They seem to be all outside cabins. Have there been any reports on any noisy inside cabins? This thread may have convinced me not to do a veranda after all!! 😳

I have not heard any noise issues on oceanview cabins (outside cabins as you call it) but on balcony cabins.

  18. We do not like Blu on the E class ships.  We went on each of our E class cruises once or twice and never went back.  But on the Equinox we got overall subperb everything in Blu on this ship, it was like night and day (Edge/Beyond/Apex vs Equinox Blu).  We are going on the Beyond again next week and won't be dining in blu.  Another thing, Blu on the E class we were unable to order off the MDR menu choices but the Equinox allowed us to.
