You can always bid for a verandah.

The old saying "You pays your money and you takes your chances" fully applies in the case of guarantee cabins and move-up bids.

The old saying doesn't apply to me, it was the only cabin available to choose on this sailing, I had no choice other than a suite which was around 15k.  We always chose aqua class no matter what the cost.  It was either taking this guarantee Oceanview or not going.

your goal was to get on this sailing to ports u  prefer..So decide to enjoy whatever you are assigned..Always a chance another cabin will open up ( check every day) or as LB_NJ said you can  submit a move up bid.

    ABCs are great!

For some reason I am not allowed to fill up a move up bid.

I always book Oceanview cabins, mid ship.  Did you see deck 4?  There are many noisy areas above.  I always pick my cabin carefully.  Good luck.

I saw just a small area with the club above and then the casino.  I don't go to bed until after 1pm and assume the club would close by 2-3am so assume the noise level will drop???  The casino generally empties out around 1am.

There are a lot of “Less desirable “ cabins.

they can be locations that experienced cruisers would not book by choice.

In your situation it’s probably worth a chance?

I had no choice there were no assigned cabins available.  I don't think there is a bad Oceanview cabin, there are no obstructions on deck 3 ocean views.  Just curious if anybody had any bad experiences with Oceanview.  I have not had anything less than a verandah in over 25 years.  I been on over 100 cruises and only had one bad experience having a cabin under the MDR kitchen where we heard rolling carts and broken dishes hitting the floor, never booked another guarantee since and that was in the 1980's.  But I really want this sailing, we cancelled the apex (San Juan, st. Thomas and St Maarten so tired of those ports that we don't even get off the ship).

  6. We decided to change our cruise sailing as we prefer the Beyond 8 night ABC islands.  Two days ago there was only a high end suite left and a guarantee Oceanview cabin, we booked the guarantee Oceanview cabin just to get on the sailing which is most important to us.

My question, are there any bad Oceanview cabins?  Looking at the deck plan all ocean views are on deck 3 and no obstruction in any of them and there are the panoramic ocean views that I highly doubt I get...then there are the deluxe Oceanview in front of the ship that have very huge windows that I feel is a plus.

What would be considered a bad Oceanview cabin on the E class?  Are there any bad Oceanview cabins on the E class?

9:00 to 9:30 is as late as they seat. If you show up at the last minute your service will be very rushed. Most of the MDR staff have other venues to work after dinner hours and they need you out of there.

I won't mind dinner that night being fast, I hate to miss lobster night lol.

Suggest you speak to the dining room Maitre D on a night before you arrive in Aruba and make a late dining plan.  That way, they can't say you're too late as long as you follow "the plan".

    OR

Aruba has some lovely restaurants and a late departure makes dinner at one a great possibility.  We have done that in Aruba at Passions on the Beach.  Toes in the sand dinner.  Great fun!

Yes, Aruba has many great restaurants.  We been going there each year (during "covid" 3 times a year), we go back for two weeks this August.  I am trying to see all my friends that live there (workers at one of the main hotels that we go to each year and we will hang out all day while at port there).  I love to see the night staff that gets in at 7 stay for awhile and speak to them then head back at 9 to the ship as the ship leaves at 11.  Hate to miss lobster night lol.

We have had some elegant nights on Port days, but having very recently sailed your exact itinerary on Beyond, I would bet money that the Chic nights are nights 2 and 7, with the latter night (2nd chic night; betting day 7) having the ‘best’ menu.

    Thank you for this info!

I would be very surprised if this ended up being true.

I am thinking that the menu's shown on the app may change when I get on the ship.  Never on all my over 100 cruises I taken, elegant night been on a port day.

  11. Hello,

We will be on the Beyond, 8 night ABC islands on April 27th sailing.  I noticed that elegant night (to us the best menu) is on the fourth day when we are docked in Aruba until 11pm.  We will be spending the day on the island, curious as to how late can we show up for dinner in the MDR?  Is it possible we can walk in for 10pm dinner.  Does anybody know what time they shut the doors for dinner?  Thank you.

  12. My brother in law says the steaks at the Rooftop are better than the Steakhouse.  Honestly, we never dined at the Rooftop and the Steakhouse was just ok, nothing great, therefore, we are thinking of giving Rooftop a try.

What are your experiences regarding rooftop?  We are leaving Aruba 11pm, would like as late as possible for dinner there, does anybody know how late we can dine at Rooftop.  We are spending the day at a major hotel in Aruba and will get back around9:30pm and like to know if we can show up by 10 pm for dinner there?

Last time I tried an Assigned Cabin years ago I ended up right under the Casino.

     never tried that option again.......

It wouldn't be much of a problem for me as we are in the casino till 2am and generally its very quiet past midnight. But I get your points.  We just happy to get on this sailing its sold out other than the most expensive suite.

  14. Hello,

Curious how Celebrity chooses guarantee staterooms to people that book them.   For instance, two people/two cabins are booked on an outside cabin guarantee.  They have one verandah and one outside stateroom, curious as to how they choose who gets the verandah lets say?  Do they go by who booked first, or celebrity tier status or blue chip status as to who gets the verandah and who gets the outside cabin?

  15. Hello,

My hubby for valentines day and our upcoming anniversary surprised me with a cruise.  I called to book the Beyond, April 27th to the ABC islands only to find there were no available cabins (other than suites).  I chose the April 20th Apex sailing instead.  This morning, I noticed there was an outside guarantee available on the sailing of the Beyond and booked that.  What was most important in this cruise was to get on this sailing and I realize it can be any location, most likely on deck three, but I can't be picky as I am just happy to get on this sailing.

With this being said, has anybody booked an outside guarantee on any of the E class ships and can you share your experience from it?  Have you been upgraded, etc.? When were you contacted regarding your cabin assignment (I realize it could be up to two days before the cruise)?  This is my second cruise in six months so I am happy with anything to be honest.  Just like to hear what your thoughts and experiences.  Thank you.

  16. Hello,

Does anybody know whether Captain Kate will be on the Beyond April 27th or any idea when her time off is.  I have a few items for Bug to give her and we are booked on April 27th.

  17. You are assigned Blu but you can eat at any of the MDR.  On the Beyond, we dined at Blu the first two evenings, had not good service overall, it was very loud in that room also, and we were not allowed to choose items from the MDR menu.  We had our remaining dinners at the MDR, tried different ones with NO problems.

On the Equinox, Blu was overall outstanding and they gave us the MDR menu also if we wished to order anything from there.  On this ship, we wouldn't even dream of going to the MDR.

I say give Blu a try a night or two then make a decision.

The Rooftop Garden Grill is great…my favorite specialty restaurant.  We usually book the first night to take advantage of the discount.  Please save room for the warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream on top. 🍪😋. It’s the best dessert.

I just noticed there are no openings for our sailing in April, I will keep watch and also check when I get on the ship thank you.

Helpful hint: You should decide whether you're both interested in the daily delectable delights (that's the little nothing canape nibbles they send out every afternoon. If not you can tell your cabin attendant you're not interested in having them delivered. Cuts down on waste and disturbances to deliver and pick up)

    Will do thank you.

  20. Hello,

We always had aqua class staterooms but yesterday my other half surprised me for Valentine's Day and booked an upcoming cruise.  He was not able to get aqua class and there was one cabin left, Concierge was the only stateroom remaining which he booked.  We have some questions:

1- In concierge staterooms what brand of shampoo/conditioner/soap do they use?  Aqua class they give bigelow products but unsure about concierge class?

2-  In the Oceanview cafe, there is no bar to get a cocktail, where do we get cocktails from there?  Are there people walking around asking if we would like drinks?

3-  How is the Rooftop Restaurant?

    Thank you.

Your question is going to be hard to answer since what your husband likes and/or dislikes is the actual slot machine games rather than the layout and size. All the E-Class casinos are the same size and layout( same with S-Class ship casinos), so to properly answer your question you would need to tell us which specific slot machine games he prefers.

Having said that we were on the Apex last July and my husband, who is the gambler in the family, enjoyed gambling on the Apex but he said the machines were tight and it was the first cruise where he didn't hit any jackpots (he normally hits several jackpots each cruise).

Mine also wins jackpots on each cruise, on the equinox one of his hits was 20k.  I guess if he doesn't hit anything in the first three days he just stay out more, which is a shame because he enjoys playing like your husband does.  Thank you.
