  1. Hello,

We will be on the Equinox, want to try a smaller ship as we been on the Apex, Edge and Beyond the past year and half.  Does anybody know how we can contact the internet host on the Equinox?

Appreciate your help and thank you.

  2. We were on the Beyond and the Edge the this year and Blu menu we were unable to ask for the MDR items like onion soup or ceasar salad, and the menu was very limited.  The items were not appealing to us and unlike the MDR where you can get chicken/steak/salmon every night we were unable to get any of those items.  Blu was very noisy in both cruises so we only dined one evening in Blu on each cruise and our service both times were so so, I have no idea why people rave about it as we found the MDR so much better in service, items offered and food tasting better.  We are booked on the Equinox and will give it a try, but from what I hear on this class of ship we are allowed to ask for the "everyday items" on the MDR, if this is true it will work out perfectly for us, if not, we be back in the MDR.

The spa stuff included in Aqua for us was useless a joke, because the treatments you still have to pay for but the only thing we did like about Aqua was the shower in these class of ships, the best shower in all our other 98 cruises we taken.  I would take Aqua for the showers, but unsure if those showers are in the class of ship we are currently booked on.

  3. Hello and following along as we board next month.

I was not impressed with Blu on the Beyond and the choices were very limited and we were not able to order off the MDR menu as we love ceasar salad, onion soup, etc., therefore we just ate a couple of times at the steakhouse and the remaining evenings at the MDR.

I am so glad to hear we are able to order off the MDR menu!  I have to try that champagne you enjoy.  Following along.

On the Celebrity app, under your reservation, on one of the Icons at the bottom is a Safety Icon.  If you tap on that, you will see where your muster station is.

Thank you so much it just says A3 but its not allowing me to "find on deck" yet.

  5. Hello,

We have a few more questions if you don't mind.

Does anybody know where muster station A3 is at on the Equinox?

We are in aqua class, on the beyond and the edge we loved the aqua class shower heads, does the Equinox have the same shower heads?

We are trying to book Murano and Tuscan grill only they are all booked for next months cruise, if we board the ship and go to the restaurant do you feel there be any availability for us to make reservations to dine there?

What does the sky lounge have as far as entertainment during the night time?

  6. Hello,

We have a few questions if you don't mind helping us with:

1-  Our cabin 1535 is the bed by the balcony or bathroom

2-  On the app the highly menu's seem to rotate, does anybody have the actual menu's given on the 8 night cruise so we can choose which night to dine at specialty restaurants

3-  Does anybody have the entertainment/schedule for this 8 night cruise?

4-  What if your favorite hang out spot and bar on this ship, we only been on the E class ships.

5-  Which restaurant do you prefer Tuscan or Murano?

They often do not load the full menu's until closer to cruise.    If you check either the current or next cruise on Equinox they have all the menus loaded and they should be the same for the same number of day and the same itinerary.

For the Current Cruise on Day 7 they have Broiled Lobster Night

    Thank you.

  8. Hello,

We are deciding which evenings to dine at Tuscan and Murano only the app is only giving us the main dining room menu's for 1-6 nights, they show no menu's for night 7 and 8.  We will be on the Equinox next month to the ABC islands.  Does anybody know what the last two night menu's are?

Your posts arent making sense to me. How would he know that he can't make a private charter flight that is still a year away? Even if he did know, it still does not add up to why he would have to fly standby (which, again, he cannot do unless he is using a "buddy pass". You cant just call up an airline reservation 1-800 number or walk into the airport and tell them you want to buy a standby ticket). If his company can afford a private charter flight, surely they can buy him a regular ticket with a confimed seat on an airline.

Also, being a year out, I would not rely on airline schedules as you see them today. Airlines don't release their schedules this far out so just because you see an American Airlines flight today from NYC to MIA that arrives at 3pm, doesnt mean that flight will exist a year from now in August. Airlines typically release "placeholder" schedules 6 months out, then firm up the finalized schedule about 90 days in advance. Which is why you see so many posts here on Cruise Critic about people's flight itineraries changing a few months before their cruises.

But, going against what I said about schedules not being reliable beyond 90 days, taking a snapshot of AA's schedule for tomorrow from both JFK and LGA, there are numerous flights that get in before 3pm. Several arrive early in the morning...so not too sure what it is you are basing this whole premise on.

Its ok, Carnival will not work with us and the Jones Act does not apply to what we want to do.  Yes, those dates are correct for 2023 but I am talking about 2024.

What kind of company requires him to fly "standby" to attend a corporate conference that he must be at?

I work in the airline industry. There is no way to buy a "standby" ticket. The only "standby" passengers these days are nonrevenue airline employees trying to get from A to B, those flying on "buddy passes" of airline employees and revenue passengers that have been bumped from or otherwise missed earlier flights due to delays or cancellations. If this is an airline conference and he does work for the airline, shame on them for not providing a positive space ticket for a conference that he is required to attend.

As for catching the cruise on day 4, if I were in your position, I just wouldn't book it during that week. It's too much hassle trying to get to Aruba, especially if you are flying "standby", as there is no guarantee you would make it. Also, it's a huge waste of money at that point missing half your cruise. It's not like you get a discount or half off the fare by missing half the cruise.

Stand by flight due to not taking the private charter flight the company has him on.

We really want to go to Bonaire and Curacao, we just got back from Aruba as we go twice a year there but want to see the other islands and there are only three cruises that go there, two in July which we prefer not to go as there are more children on ships in July, then there is this one August cruise which is the last to cruise to the ABC islands.  We don't mind paying for the entire cruise and missing 3 nights, we have no choice anyways.  We can travel to miami on boarding day which we will not make the cruise as the flights arrive around 3pm and not enough time to get to the ship, we can jump a plane easily to Aruba from Miami and pick up the ship in Aruba.  It is a 8 night cruise so picking it up in Aruba we remain to have 5 nights on the ship.

We are booked on another Celebrity cruise this October and got off another Celebrity in March, we are avid cruisers so its ok to miss some days on this particular cruise.  We don't mind paying and missing days, its our only choice.

It would be so much cheaper to book your own flight from NY that would guarantee you made it to your embarkation in Port Canaveral than to Aruba.  Is there a reason this is not an option?

He has to fly american and the first flight out of NY to Miami gets him in at 2:50pm not enough time to get to the ship.

  12. Hello,

We want to book our next years August trip only the cruise we want docks in Aruba and sails pt. carnival on August 10th.  My husband has a corporate mid year reorganization conference that he must attend on august 5-9 in NY and the company has him flying standby (I probably go with him so ensure we get on the cruise together).  Question, if he does not make the flight to Pt. Canaveral is he allowed to catch the ship on the first port of call which happens to be in Aruba on the fourth day of the cruise?

Has anybody missed their embarkation and flown to a port to catch their cruise?  If so, any suggestions/advice you can give us?  This is the only sailing that goes to the ABC islands in August, 2024.

    Thank you.

I think it depends on the Maitre D' in Blu.

    (And possibly your waiter)

We were on the Equinox for 5 weeks last winter and the Maitre D' (and our wonderful waiter) were totally fine with letting people order off menu items that were available from the MDR.

But we've been in Blu many times when that wasn't allowed.

Yes, I had a bad waiter after hearing you and others were allowed, we were told a straight no, which made us feel Blu was nothing special.  Hopefully on this next cruise on the Equinox we have a good service and they meet our expectations and I will rave about them instead of putting Blu down as we do not care for many of the offerings on the menu there.

That's actually not correct. Blu is right above all the restaurants. It's Luminae that's nowhere near the MDRs. We were able to order MDR entrees and salads when we were on the Beyond last October.

I guess I had a bad waiter who lied to me.  That is very unfortunate, because of that it left a bad taste in my mouth to go back to Blu.

  15. Hello,

On the Edge and Beyond we were in aqua class and were not able to order starters such as caesars salad/onion soup in Blu, I believe because the dining room was in a distance.

We will be on the Equinox and wondering if we are allowed to order items from the MDR in Blu on this ship?

  16. Hello,

We love Aruba and fly there twice a year and do take cruises yearly also.  We do not have direct flights from northern Florida to Aruba and need to connect.  We are wondering if its allowed that we take a cruise, get off in Aruba port and stay there for a week then go back on another cruise a week later, in other words board it in Aruba then go back home to Florida to avoid flying?

Has anybody done this, if so, are they any rules/regulations we need to know about?
