  1. Hello, as you know from my other posts that I put in a bid for move up for my daughter (she is in infinate verandah and I am in AQ) it was accepted yesterday, so now we can dine together.

The confirmation and question I asking, and yes, asking again because three weeks ago when I had asked I received different answers from people, so going to ask again, and those who have recently gone on the Beyond as of January this year (assume also the same goes with the Edge and Apex), some questions about Blu.

1-  Some evenings I just don't care for the main entree's, can I ask for an entree that is on the normandy menu as we eat all their signature entrees?

2- I been told on these boards I am able to get French onion soup and Cesar salad in Blu even though its not on the menu, am I able to get the steak/salmon/chicken that is offered as everyday entrees in the MDR?

3- How is Fine Cut Steakhouse, would you recommend going there for an evening?

4- Everybody is raving about Eden, but each evening there is only 9pm and 9:30pm available, this is too late, do you think they reserve a percentage of open tables for people to book when they board the ship?

    Thank you.

Your suite guests would have to have been allowed to make the purchase (like previously mentioned - it is  capacity limited and only offered to upper suites) but it is all or nothing. You have the purchase for the entire duration of the cruise.

Thank you, honestly, two days be enough, I don't like to be limited to one area such as the retreat during the day, I make my rounds all over the place, so it would be a waste for me thank you.

You can also order off of any of the other MDR menu’s even if you stay with the MDR you currently have reserved.  I ordered of the Normandie menu when our group was in Cyprus.

Really!!  Now that solves the issue perfectly, thank you for that info.

If your 8 p.m. is showing as fixed dining on the app, it's not. There is no fixed dining on the E-class ships. So go wherever you want.

If you made a reservation for those nights with Select dining, then cancel Cosmo and go somewhere else.

I want to cancel cosmo but there is only 9 and 9:30 available at the other restaurants.

  5. Hello,

There are two menus during the week Beyond cruise coming up that I don't eat any of the main entree's, question, I have 8pm dining in the Cosmopolitan is it possible that I can show up at 8pm at one of the other MDR"s such as the Normandie?

  6. Thank you, my sister/brother in law is in retreat on our March 19th Beyond sailing, we have AC and daughter a regular verandah with a move up offer to AC bid still pending but unable to cancel or modify the bid.

Question, is it possible instead of paying for the weeks pass, that I can purchase a daily pass, as I probably just want to save money, but I am good paying for two days for the three of us.

Just returned from our first Celebrity cruise on the Beyond Feb 19th sailing. Have previously cruised several times on Princess, NCL and many years ago 1 Costa and 1 Royal Caribbean cruise. Have cruised short 4-day cruises and to date our longest has been a 16-day Panama Canal. We usually book a balcony.

First off, Beyond is a beautiful ship with unique and refreshing layout and design. It stands apart from other ships we have sailed on. It is designed in a way that promotes unique areas that keep noise separate from the serene quieter areas.

Loved the aft seating by the Sunset Bar. Unfortunately, the location and design of the smoking area on the starboard side (deck 15?) resulted in the smoke smell to drift quite a distance and impacted the enjoyment of the plunge pools and surrounding non smoking seating areas. Did not see many people using the smoking area but still managed to disrupt the enjoyment of so many.  IMHO, I look forward to a day where Celebrity is completely smoke free.

Really loved the walking/jogging track layout and the incline.  Used it daily.

Cabin: Concierge Deck 11, Infinite Verandah

Would not bother with concierge again as we did not see much benefit other than the cabin location. Did not need the concierge boarding, embarkation lunch or the afternoon canapes. We were unsure if we would like the infinite verandah but we did. We wish it was a bit bigger. Otherwise, we appreciated the additional privacy vs. a traditional balcony and the option to open and close it.

Did experience the noise/banging others have noted. After a few calls back and forth with customer service, it was partially resolved but did not go away completely. They came into the cabin, took some panels off and made some “adjustments”.

    Itinerary:

St. Maarten – Walked to Great Bay beach and booked chairs – very nice but lots of vendors pushing hats, coverups and aloe vera massages. Not our thing but the water was lovely. We were there pre hurricane Irma and COVID and noticed the lingering impact to the island and its people. It is beautiful and we hope with time it will fully recover.

St. Thomas – Ship Tour - Fast Cat Snorkel tour (Buck Island) and Beach Break (Water Island) – excellent!

Puerto Plata – Walked to old town to visit fort, cathedral and umbrella street – returned to ship for lunch and then went off again to spend a couple of hours in Taino Bay enjoying the lazy river and pool. Beautiful port area.

    Staff:

    Excellent! Friendly and professional.

    Food:

Ate dinner in the MDR except for one night at the Rooftop Garden Grill (specialty dining) and last night at the buffet. Our favourite MDR was Cypress.

Breakfast – Usually in the Cosmopolitan. Great service, attentive staff. No complaints.

Lunch – Buffet – lots of choice and variety.

El Bacio – some hiccups/confusion when ordering customized specialty coffee drinks but overall delicious!

Overall food was very good to excellent. No complaints and much better quality and variety than Princess and NCL.

We did notice fewer dinner buffet options then we have seen on other cruise lines but we have always felt there was too much waste so we understand the need to streamline offerings. We could not do the dinner buffet every night though.

    Entertainment:

Musicians, Rock the Boat and Magic shows were excellent

    Overall:

Well done Celebrity! We have booked with Celebrity for next year.

Thanks what cabin were you in?

In the past, AQ class guests had their choice of pillows from a “pillow menu”. You can ask about that when you are in you cabin. I have requested firm pillows and our cabin attendant brought them  to the cabin.

    Great thank you.

That is a good sign your bid was accepted - especially if the others show cancelled.  I have recently experienced that and a day later it came back to where I could modify it.    I eventually was upgraded.

Sweet, thank you so very much for the info!

If my daughter got accepted I will be thrilled because I have aqua class and we can dine in blu together and she get the thermal spa stuff she so wants, thank you!

I really don't want to cancel just thought since there were only 9 cabins left and 21 days to the cruise that we wouldn't win the bid so decided to just cancel and get the thermal passes.  It would be great if it was accepted, but it still says pending and no charge to our cc. so sitting in limbo here wondering.

Yes you can.  Or those might be nights when you will go to Normandie or Tuscan etc.  I’m with you on those - I’ll very rarely have lamb, never veal, only occasionally seafood.  You will always have a chicken choice too.  In Blu, I would have had no problem asking them for something different with a days notice.  They were all lovely.

I don't eat lamb either yikes lol.  Chicken gets my stomach ill, I do believe its because chickens are given too many hormones/steroids, so I stay away from chicken unless its organic which doesn't bother me and I love and able to eat turkey, go figure....so, I will make sure I give them a days notice thank you so much.

Many shower heads yes.  The complementary heated tile loungers and steam rooms were nice, also access to the bow of the ship.  The biggest thing we enjoyed was Blu.  We really enjoyed the exclusivity (less crowded?) and the menu was wonderful.  Disclaimer - except the first night on both our B2B’s, but that is normal across the board.  If doing it again numerically, I would probably pay $500 each extra for aqua.

I dont eat lamb, veal and seafood, two evenings that is what is offered, is it possible I can ask for something that is served in the MDR on these evenings?

We were not allowed to order from another restaurant while dining in Blu. We asked and were turned down.  We went to Normandie and had dinner there.

French onion soup is available daily in Blu.  I am not sure about the salad but I think it is an everyday item. The soup was excellent but filling and served HOT.

Honestly, I would rather dine at Normandy each evening.  Thanks for letting me know onion soup is available.

  15. Thank you and so glad you had a wonderful time.

Question, I am also in aqua class, March 19th sailing, I realize I will have dinner in Blu, question, there are two evenings where I do not care for the main entrees, am I able to ask for a main entree that is served in Normandy/another MDR?  I also do not notice they have French onion soup and Cesar salad, am I able to ask for these at Blu?

Elite breakfast was in Le Grand Bistro on deck 4.  I believe the times were from 8 to 10 am each day.

We found the mattress to be quite nice and firm.  But that is how we like a mattress.

Thank you, we also like firm mattresses.

He/ She may be working in another area during that time.  Since Blu is a small dining room and only for AQ with open seating they don’t have many trying to move from traditional dining to anytime, large groups wanting to be seated together, folks trying to make or change reservations.  If there is no one at Blu when you board you can talk to one of the MDs at the main dining room.

    Thank you so much.

In your case, because you are in Aqua class, your assigned dining room is Blu. Since there is no assigned dining in Blu, the assigned time is meaningless. If you wish to eat in the MDR, you need to make arrangements with the Maitre D at Blu.

I am assuming since we are linked together, and she is alone, I would like to think they allow me to eat in the MDR with her so we can be together.  I also made 4 nights MDR reservations on her account, added us as extra guests.  I will speak to the Maitre D when I board, do you think he be available or I would have to wait until Blu opens for dinner to ask him?  In other words, can he be found before dinner hours?

  19. We will be going on the Beyond on March 19, I have aqua class and daughter put in move up but I gather since there are only like 10 cabins open (all verandahs and concierge class are sold out) that she will not win the bid even though went higher than minimum.  I will cancel that out in a few days so she will purchase the thermal week pass.  I will then dine in the MDR with her since she won't be able to dine at Blu with us.

We have a few questions if you don't mind please:

For those who book guarantee stateroom (another family member took verandah guarantee) when do they assign cabin numbers, how far out from the cruise?

Where is the elite breakfast, and do you know what time it is served till?

When you reserve the dining room times as everybody now has anytime dining, if we were assigned 8pm can we show up at 7:30pm as we prefer to eat a bit earlier?

Even if we have chosen our time to dine in the MDR, are we able to show up at one of the other restaurants?  For instance our first night we are at Cosmopolitan we want to go to Normandy, will this be allowed?

What time range is the most crowded in dining in the MDR's?

How are the mattresses, are they saggy/soft, should I bring a pillow top?  We both have herniated discs/bad backs, and how are the pillows, I like a firm pillow since I have plates/screws in my cervical spine.

Is other a charge for two lobsters at Blu?

If I dine at Blu are there generally long wait times?

    THANK YOU.
