  1. I was at Sam's Club this morning, and they had the huge inflatable Halloween decorations back-to-back with the huge inflatable Christmas decorations.
  2. I know I talked about a website that uses your DNA to determine certain physical or mental traits -- I uploaded my Ancestry .com DNA profile to the website, and this is one of the results: This one is absolutely 100% accurate for me... it makes me feel a bit better about my inability to keep things minimalistic. I'm getting better about throwing things out (or not purchasing things I don't actually need), but I still have a long way to go. Fortunately, I've never gotten to the point that you had to walk on stuff in my house, or there were vermin everywhere, etc., like you see on the Hoarders tv show. I will admit to watching that show to feel better about my own limitations, though.... I can always say that I'm not THAT bad, compared to others!!!
  3. The rental Whills chair will do that! The drive wheels change the direction by rolling at different rates (or in different directions) -- like how a tank or bulldozer with tracks instead of wheels would do. And the non-drive wheels, instead of turning left and right like the front wheels of a normal wheelchair (or like on a shopping cart/buggy), the front wheels themselves are made of a bunch of side-spinning discs. The front wheels always stay facing front-to-back, and the wheel material itself spins from side to side. It's hard to explain in words, but hopefully this picture helps: When the chair is going forward, the whole wheel turns like a normal wheel. When it's turning (based on different turning rates of the back wheels), the little individual discs on the front wheel that are in contact with the ground spin left or right. Everyone who sees it for the first time is blown away, because it looks so weird to have a wheel facing straight forward while the chair itself is turning. Lots of "oh wow!" or "that is so cool!" comments or just dropped jaws.
  4. Might want to ask your doc for a prescription for Ketorolac/Toradol and Tamsulosin/Flomax to keep on hand if another one crops up. (They seem to love appearing on weekends or after office hours!) Toradol seems to work much better for kidney pain than opiates like morphine, and the Flomax helps to "open up the plumbing" so the stone has more room to pass. Several years ago, my son's father used to drink a lot of "Monster" energy drinks, and he got a kidney stone while he was working out of state. He needed to be able to drive home that night, so he wouldn't let the ER give him any kind of opioid pain medicine that would prevent him being able to drive... but he was in such excruciating pain that he couldn't drive home without some sort of pain relief. So... he called me! LOL I told him to ask the doc for some Toradol, and the doc walked in the room right then, so he said, "My wife said to ask if I can have Toradol," and the doc said, "We can do that!" He got a shot of Toradol and was able to drive back home that night... and he hasn't had a single energy drink since that time (and he hasn't had any more kidney stones, either!). When I was working in the ER, we were giving out Toradol injections like they were prizes on the Oprah Winfrey show.... "YOU get Toradol and YOU get Toradol and YOU get Toradol!"
  5. I walked from Symphony in Terminal A to Grandeur in Terminal G last year, mainly because I had a lot of time to kill and the free shuttle that Royal offers to S2S cruisers was going to take hours, with no place to sit while waiting. It was a challenge because there is always construction going on, and several places don't have a sidewalk on either side of the road. It was also one of those weird days that was sunny and hot (with no shade), PLUS it rained for a portion of my walk. That's Florida for ya! You can also just order an Uber -- drivers will take you around to the other terminal, then just pick up another ride while they are there. Don't try to take a cab, though -- one cussed me out for it a couple years ago, even though I tried to pay him extra money. Something about how they have to pay a fee just to get in line to pick up passengers, and he wouldn't make enough money from such a short trip.
  6. I think most people these days use their phones (or seatback screens) to watch movies or surf the internet during the flight, and light from the window makes glare on their screen.
  7. With the Water Taxi, they stop at No Name Beach so you can drop off your belongings, then you get back on the Taxi and they take you around the corner of the island so you can jump off and start the drift snorkel (they usually do this for the first two Taxi runs of the day). You end up at No Name Beach about an hour and a half later. There's no extra charge for this.
  8. If you like snorkeling at all, the Water Taxi is $25pp round trip to Klein Bonaire, and it's an easy walk from the ship to the Taxi pickup location.
  9. The "free" wifi only officially works with Royal's app. Sometimes people get notifications from various other apps, but not full functionality.
  10. A friend took some pictures of the Northern Lights on her farm in southern Michigan... and I had to share this one here b/c her cat insisted on being in her picture! LOL
  11. That's what I said... it has openings that will fit both kinds of plugs -- North American and European.
  12. The outlet is a standard North American outlet.
  13. I haven't been to South Beach since late 2022. Good to know they added a buffet there.
