  1. I agree. CS, in IMHO, isn’t worth it. My thing is I want to be next to the balcony, not in a set apart room. We did the RS on a cruise to Alaska. That whirlpool was a nice plus even in that weather. The bar setup and the specialty dining, really makes it worth it. But the balcony is wonderful. And the dining table to have a nice quiet dinner with friends.

Bad thing was this was my grandkids first cruise. They think all cruises included a butler and a dining room where the staff knows your every desire.

  2. I am considering Silver Seas for our next cruise but finding pricing snd availability very difficult to find. Do I need to go through the cruise line or TA for this? After I book, If there is a price drop or new promotion how would I find this information?

  3. DH loves the hump suites. They are midship, so less walking. You are out a bit, so people aren’t looking into you balcony. And because of the walls off the elevators, there was very little traffic.

I would love the corner aft, but never could convince him on this.

  4. I’d like to hop in here. We usually do a suite on Celebrity, not necessarily for the room. We enjoy Luminae and Michaels Club. Would we regret just doing a balcony?

  5. My 7 and 10 year olds were on the Infinity Alaska Cruise. The kids club had a lot of different activities going on all the time and Xbox games, if they are into that.

I was tentative about taking the kids on the cruise, but it was The best vacation ever’ according to them.

The crew went out of their way for them and the activities from the kids club were so much fun. If you put in a little effort, they will enjoy themselves.

  6. I believe what they were saying was that embarkation was faster and they could go directly to their staterooms because there were no passengers disembarking as the ship just came out of dry dock.

Ahh. That makes a lot of sense.

  7. We were on this ship last February. It was awesome being able to go directly to our stateroom since she came out of dry dock. No wait to get checked in, no wait to board ship, luggage to room within first two hours..

Did they change the embarkment? How did you avoid all the lines?

  8. Who is called by Shoreside Concierge? We were in Sky Suites a few times and was not called. But we were called for the Royal Suite. That I expected. I didn’t expect it with the Celebrity Suite, but we had just made Elite status. I don’t know if that makes a difference.

  9. Only Aqua class have the Persian Garden included in their package, but there are a limited amount of Passes for purchase.

We swear by the Suite Life. Michael’s Club is a nice quiet bar to relax. Our butlers have been great, just don’t expect too much on embankment day since they are so busy with trying to introduce themselves and get everything situated.

If you are not into bubbly, you can ask to switch the bottle to a red or white. You can also ask to have the mini bar emptied. We have had them stock it with our favorite cold drinks, but that might be only for upper suites.

Luminal will give you the MDR menu if where is nothing on their menu that fits your fancy. Service is outstanding, especially if you have dietary restrictions. There was a diary allergy in our group. Each night as soon as we sat down a basket of diary free bread appeared on our table almost before we unrolled our napkins.
