Internet was down again but just came back up. I started with the Wasabi Cocktail, then had the Lobster and Shrimp Potstickers, then I had the Crispy Duck and The Trio of sorbet. I have to say I was very pleased with the Duck, I had this last on the Rotterdam in July last year and was not impressed. This was totally different and very delicious. Tom had his usual of two appetizers, the Tempura Shrimp and the Chinese Five Spice Baby Back Ribs, then had the Filet with out the Wasabi and he also had the Sorbet Trio. I am also adding pic of Marcia’s dessert. Overall we had a very good meal everything was very good this evening.

It’s that time of night for What’s for Dinner? Tamarind version 😃 sorry for the delay but the Nieuw Statendam WiFi and Navigator was down for several hours and just came up.

Doesn’t surprise me we are not getting much of any thing delivered to us.

As you can see we were up early to is morning watched us sail into Grand Turk. Had a very good massage with a therapist who has been at the Spa for over 13 years and husband is in the Engineering Department for even longer. Her name is Maricel After the massage I walked through the Lido was surprised to see a section that would make up your yogurt parfaits. They had one that was a Chia seed with mangos which as excellent but I then added extra fruit and nuts and too it back to our stateroom where I made up a coffee from the espresso maker in the room. Then we took off so see the shops at Grand Turk. It has grown quite a bit since we were last here it was on the Nieuw Amsterdam March of 2011. That cruise we went to St Maarten instead of St Thomas. After some looking around we headed back to the ship for some Dive In Burgers and fries, a beer for Tom and a Mango Margarita for me. Tonight we have reservations at Tamarind. Too funny just a bit ago saw James Cielen who is the Magician on board who is performing tomorrow night and Saturday night. He sat down with us for a while. We met in many years ago and have many mutual friend plus he lives not very far from us in Vegas.He is just on the Nieuw Statendam this week then to Seabourn for 3 weeks to Antarctica. It was fun catching up with him.

Luckily Carnival Freedom turned She is definitely close, this is an older Carnival ship built in 2007

Good Morning from Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos. we are just now docking. It’s a beautiful morning and very low humidity, it feels great outside. oddly I just realized we were not given last night with out the Daily the paper about the port. Hopefully we were not to move our clocks a head an hour yet. I have an 8 am massage, then we will get off the ship to do a bit of shopping 😃

We are back in our cabin. Dinner was excellent tonight. Definitely better than a Koningsdam. Service was slightly better tonight but there seems to either be not enough crew working in Club, Poorly trained crew, a disconnect or totally disorganized or All of the above. I know I sound a bit harsh but this is a restaurant for people who paid extra yet they are not getting anything extra. It should be something a bit special. I do get better service from my local Dennys. We also cruise NCL Haven and the Haven Restaurant Service is beyond amazing. Everyone’s entrees come out at the same time and the organization of how it is done is amazing. But like I said the food was actually good this evening. Tonight we went to the NEW Step One Dance production called Move. Marcia and her sister seemed to enjoy it. Sadly Tom and I were not impressed. I will not say any more. Marcia and her family have an early morning tour and I have an early morning massage so we did not stay out but most likely will tomorrow.

Dinner was delicious tonight, we all cleaned our plates 😋 We are now in the World Stage waiting for the Captain’s Toast and One Step Dance Company show is Move. tonight Tom and I both ordered the Filet and Shrimp Newburg, I had the Shrimp Cocktail, Tom had a Caesar Salad. we each had the Flourless Chocolate Cake. Dobie aka Marcia had the Lamb. Also the new Library opened today.

It’s that time of day, What would you order for dinner this evening? oddly there is NO Club Orange special this evening. On our last time when HAL had this exact same menu the Club Orange special was Short Ribs.

Tom had the Biscuits and Gravy and I had the Cuban sandwich and Hummingbird Cake. There are also picks of what others had .

We keep missing you. 😂😱 we stayed at the M and G for an hour. At one point Dobiemom aka Marcia yelled Brian and she git shhhed 😉 Next time you see us say Hi, no worries to interrupt.

I have plenty of storage on the new phone plus what I have with iCloud is good. The big problem is with CC but it appears lowering my pixel size worked perfectly.

I looked and I saw as already on High Efficiency but I am trying 12 mg, that seems to work.

We are sitting in Club Orange but having a lite breakfast. Today is the Caribbean Brunch deck 2 Main Dining Room from 9 to 1 so we will go to the M & G then about 10:45 will go to the brunch.

Good morning from the Beautiful MS Nieuw Statendam. It was rocking and rolling some through the night here in the aft but that just made for excellent sleep. I had preordered a topper for the mattress and it was perfect. since it is early in the morning will try to upload photos although I know part of the problem is with my new iPhone the file size seems to be too large for CC. I had to resort last cruise to doing a screen shot of the photo then posting which is a pain. Weird because I did not have problems with my iPhone 14 PM but this 15 PM Will not work . If anyone knows an easy way to fix let me know. Although I do really like my photos with this new phone. Today’s plan is breakfast in Club Orange at 8, then Meet and Greet at 10, lunch at Pinnacle Grill at noon. Then see Future Cruise Consultant at two want to book a cruise for May 2025 that currently sailing with me friends are going on but figured I would wait till on board for extra SBC. Although probably should have done on Black Friday sale since I could have also had the Welcome Home Promo. Not sure video with upload IMG_5108.mov

How sad, I was just talking about Lou this evening. I met Lou when he was first starting up the seen Cam, we would talk about what I was doing with the San Diego WebCam and doing the WebCam Wave on the Oosterdam. On my computer at home I have pictures of Lou and I meeting up in Ft Lauderdale Thanks so much for letting us know.

After dinner, we walked around the ship, tryed to bargain for some earrings at Effy, obviously too early in the cruise 😂 we did see some of the very beautiful Holiday displays. I upgraded on board for the premium WiFi but I am actually feeling like it is worse than the Standard WiFi we had on the Koningsdam. Still problems with WiFi. i am giving up for tonight . No pictures will upload , I would say it was CC but have had problems with FB.

Ok for what we ordered , I had the Tomato Mozzarella, Fresh Snapper and Brazo de Mercedes. Tom had Caesar Salad, Steak and Lobster and Hot Fudge sundae. There is also a picture of the Peruvian Chicken Marcia had.

Yes they did do that tonight but we got to Club Orange at 5 and was not done eating till after 7:30, service was extremely slow, wrong entrees served. Oddly Club Orange was never full. Only half full till about 6:30. Just the opposite of what we saw last month on the Koningsdam.
