  1. We were on the Maasdam for a S.E. Asia cruise in February and simply filled out the paperwork that was left in our cabin to obtain the visas for Cambodia and Vietnam. We didn't take any ship tours, as all of ours were private, but it didn't matter; the visas were available to us and charged to our onboard account. We didn't need to provide any additional photos for them. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  2. Wow, that breakfast looks like it would be enough for at least 4 people! I'm really enjoying following along with you and Tom - thanks for bringing us with you! Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  3. What did you do ? ? ? I'm just kidding! Can't you link your iPad to your printer? I can do it with mine. Have you tried Firefox as your browser? Good luck to you. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  4. I fully agree; we've done 3 westbound trans-Atlantics and each time, have been blessed with great weather. It gets progressively warmer the closer you get to your destination. We love the extra hour of sleep nearly every night of the crossing, and so do the crew! We're planning another for 2020, and even if the weather isn't great (our luck has to run out some time!), we're on a cruise, it's not a problem! Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  5. I find streaks & stuff in my own home, so when I see them on a ship or hotel, I'm not bothered by them. I know the stewards and housekeeping staff have a million things to do, so I don't let the little things get to me. OTOH, a friend is like you, wiping down, cleaning, shining, etc., I just sit back and watch with a glass of wine in my hand. We do keep our cabin tidy; I can't stand having it look like a tornado came through, or having a messy/unmade bed. We all have different priorities. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  6. We had the pleasure of being on the Maasdam in February/March this year for a SE Asia cruise and it was great! We had excellent air conditioning - and needed it with temperatures hovering in the high 80's during the day. We didn't hear of any plumbing issues, and were satisfied with the entertainment / enrichment provided during the 3 weeks we were onboard. Would we sail the Maasadam again? In a heartbeat! Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  7. The area around the Golden Temple has to be one of the most serene places on earth. The day we were there, there were very few people and it was like having a private tour. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  8. We've been to the area 3 times in the past and I wore capris and t-shirts or blouses nearly every day. Lots of folks enjoyed laying in the sun on the back deck, or around the pool, as the temperatures were quite nice. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  9. It might be raining, but it's not a cold rain like Alaska. Hope you both have good rain jackets! Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  10. Thanks for the link Kazu, since the OP wasn't exactly forthcoming with the info. These folks mean nothing to us, as we've never sailed NCL; I'm sure though, if HAL has welcomed them into the fold, they're good people. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  11. Two years ago we booked a last minute cruise - it was our second week of -40F temperatures, and we wanted to get away. I received an email about last minute cruises from HAL on Monday at 3PM, booked it directly with them, made our flight arrangements (which thankfully didn't eat up the savings from the last minute pricing), booked our hotel and was having wine by 5:30 that evening. On Tuesday, we both had haircuts, I had my mani/pedi and packed; we flew to Tampa on Wednesday and sailed on Friday. Would I do it again - in a heartbeat! We booked an obstructed ocean view room which meant we had floor to ceiling windows, but there was a tender in front of the window. We had plenty of light, but not the greatest view . . . who cared? We were getting away from the freezing cold of the "frozen tundra" and were happy as could be! Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  12. If your TA is charging for making airline reservations - change TA's. We've literally walked into a travel agency and asked them to make a last minute reservation and weren't charged a dime. They'd never seen us before, and didn't know if we'd ever be back. If you want to stay with your PCC, great, but the advantage of transferring your reservation to a TA is that they will give you incentives such as onboard credit, or wine, or complimentary dinners in the specialty restaurants, etc. They make commission on reservations and these gifts come out of those commissions. In your situation, I'd stay with the PCC, or find a new TA. Call around to some agencies in your area to see what they may have to offer if you brought your reservation to them. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  13. You two look great - and relaxed, which is as it should be! Did I see a Majorica pearl ring on your index finger ? ? ? Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  14. I always love photos that accompany a "Live from"; they make it feel like we're there with you. Stay safe! Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
