  1. Good morning, thanks for the Daily! We'll be participating in Buy Nothing Day, even though many of the stores in Canada are displaying Black Friday sales. We don't need anything, but if we did, we would try to buy local, rather than from the big guys. I put my pins and needles away a couple of days ago when I dismantled my "sewing centre" on the dining room table, but will bring them back when I start sewing masks again in January. I'm surprised after yesterday's feasting, that today isn't Sweatpant or Elastic Waist Day! LOL A great drink today, as I love grapefruit
  2. Happy Thanksgiving to all our American cruising friends! Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂
  3. Oh my gosh, what a wonderful thing to do! Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry
  4. Good morning, thanks for the Daily! What a wonderful combination of days to celebrate - know that I am thankful for everyone in this community of posters; you really make this place a pleasure to visit every day. Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends; your gatherings are different this year, but hopefully that will mean you'll all be able to be with family and friends again next year. Neither DH nor I are fans of spaghetti squash, so will pass on the menu suggestion for today. That chili DH asked me to make yesterday? Well, there are a LOT of leftovers, so that's w
  5. @DeeniEncinitas Yikes! That's terrible - glad you had most of your prep work finished. I bought one of these from a kitchen store and it has saved me many times! https://www.amazon.ca/NoCry-Cut-Resistant-Gloves-Performance/dp/B00MXUHHGK Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry
  6. Are you ever a sweet person to let them come in like that. My hat's off to you for being so kind to animals. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry
  7. Do they just wander into your house and make themselves comfortable? LOL BTW, on my post this morning, I forgot to mention I adore Sangria. Every time we've done a trans-Atlantic out of Barcelona, I'm sure I've consumed gallons of it prior to boarding. And then I discovered the Aperol Spritz . . . . it's a tough call deciding which one to order. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry
  8. Good morning, thanks for the Daily! Bless the family caregivers; we tend to forget about them and their needs when a family member is sick. I haven't had a Peanut Buster Parfait in years, but loved them when I did, and thoroughly enjoy remembering the juke boxes that used to be at every table in the cafe of the small town where I grew up. I love both menu suggestions, but will leave the lamb chops till I'm on a HAL ship again. The garlic butter chicken recipe is so simple that it will be going on my "to make" list for the future. DH has asked for chili, so that'll be going on th
  9. Good morning, thanks for the Daily! Another interesting set of days to celebrate - everyone has a unique talent, some of us just haven't discovered it yet. While I'm not a fan of squash, I do like lasagna, but I think Roy's menu holds greater chance of me ordering once we get back to going to restaurants again. Congratulations @Vict0riann on your anniversary; cheers to you and your DH! Yesterday I cleared off the dining table for the first time in many months, as it has been "sewing central" making masks since this whole Covid thing began. It's time to get
  10. Many of us were decrying the demise of the libraries on HAL ships; if they re-introduce them, here are some valuable additions: Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry
  11. Good morning, thanks for the Daily! Dr Who was never a big part of our viewing, but friends of ours love the show. I also had to look up Fibonacci; this place is not just for fun, it's informative, too. I love espresso over ice with some flavoured creamer added in. I like both suggestions for dinner, but the scallops remind me we have perch fillets in the freezer that I can cook tonight. Fish coated with seasoned flour and fried in a bit of butter, along with green beans and a salad will be what's on our table tonight. And wine. Prayers for everyone who needs them,
  12. Good morning, thanks for the Daily! I would love to see a Mother Goose Parade; it would mean all this virus worry has passed and we could once again gather in groups without fear. We went for a ride yesterday to deliver a curtain I'd made for my SIL, stopped at a drive-thru for coffee and came home. That'll be our entertainment for the week, I'm sure. Happy Birthday to @1ANGELCAT; I hope you have a great day today. @Hflorswill start the prayers going for your children and their families - let's hope their symptoms are minimal and brief. I think most adult
  13. Good morning, thanks for the Daily! Great things to celebrate - volunteering, something I've done for years, and Red Mitten Day to honour all of our Olympic and Para-Olympic Athletes. As an adoptee, I'm especially happy to celebrate today with heartfelt gratitude to my parents. Another snowy day in the works - in case anybody's interested, our snowstorm last weekend provided us with the same amount of snow that fell all last winter. And now we have more, and winter's just begun. Argh! I'm going to pass on today's menu suggestion, as neither of us is a fan of polenta
  14. Good morning, thanks for the Daily! Another great selection of days to celebrate; I've slept with a teacher for 43+ years, and know their value. Hooray for all future teachers, you have no idea the impact you are going to make on precious lives. Every day of retirement is a beautiful day, and I'd love to celebrate Children's Day with our grandsons, but this year it won't be happening. Love the quote from the Farmer's Alamanac - at a certain point in life, it's just time to start giving into those temptations. Life is short, go for it! I'm not going to be making th
  15. What great news for you and all your family! *Clink* goes my wine glass! Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry
