Thanks for the review! Magic and Dream are our favorite ships. We usually don't bother getting off the ship in Roatan, but I've never heard of Infinity before. Looked it up, and we'll definitely visit next time we're there!

Did you book through Carnival? We've rescheduled many, many cruises and only paid a $100 administrative fee each time. Wishing a speedy recovery for your husband!

Good lord, people, JH is only human. And Carnival is a large corporation, and things DO change. As small business owners, things change for us regularly, so I can only imagine how crazy the day to day operations are for a company as large as Carnival. But, please, continue to wallow in your first world problems as you await news on Mardi Gras.

We would never pay that much for an "upgrade." Our limit is around $2-250. You made the right choice!
-
We have sailed forward, aft, and mid. Our least favorite, by far, was forward. Mid is okay, but we prefer aft. We end our nights in the piano bar or nightclub usually, so aft works best for us on most ships.
-
We like them, especially the darkness. The only balcony we'll pay up for is a cove (Dream class and up), and that's only if we get an upgrade call and the price is right. We spend very little time in our cabin, and the money we save by booking an interior can go toward Cheers or excursions.

I agree, the outdoor Muster drills are awful. On Dream class and above, they are held indoors. I am already dreading the outdoor drill on our next cruise. In late August. In New Orleans. 🤢 I'm bringing my small mister fan that I use in my group fit classes and at Disney. Hoping it helps.

We just got off on the Magic right before Christmas. Nathan, Ravi, and Natalya were the bartenders while we were on the ship. They were absolutely amazing!! By the 3rd day, all it took was us walking within eyesight of the Alchemy and a simple nod from Nathan to get the drinks flowing! I bet 90% of our drinks came from that bar and I think only 2 of them were actually from the menu. I wish we would have taken pictures of all the impressive creations they made for us! Always strong, and always delicious! I think Nathan only had a few more months left on his contract, but if he is still there, please tell him Scott and Michelle said hi! ... and tell him you want to try the drink that tastes like an Almond Joy lol
OMG a drink that tastes like Almond Joy.....😍 I gotta remember this next cruise!

Yep, Texas is busted and backwards and you can't utilize Cheers until day 2. For this reason, Galveston is our least favorite port to sail out of, even though it's our "home" port. If we're sailing out of the Gulf, we prefer NOLA, where Cheers is valid on night one. My hubby and I are both big time drinkers on a cruise, so Cheers is 100% worth it to us. Whether or not you or your wife can get both ya'lls drinks at the same time will depend on the bartender and how well you tip/get to know them.

On the Dream in October (Breeze's sister ship), the luggage tag rack was located on deck 5 mid.

Been on the Magic (and other ships) several times, never seen half off a drink, although we always get Cheers so it's kinda irrelevant. Usually, the drink of the day is $1 off. In our experience, the first day's "drink of the day" is usually a FunShip Special, which is a favorite of ours. Also seen a "special" where you can make your drink a double for a couple dollars extra.

Following! Love your reviews!

It was worth it on our first cruise, when we paid $39.95 for it. Now, with staggered check-in and the fact that the price skyrocketed, not worth it at all to us.
-
Grab something to eat, grab a drink, explore the ship, drop your stuff off in your room when it's ready. Our favorite thing to do on embark day is to sip on a FunShip in the atrium while watching people board.

I do not understand the reason for this rule. If you are limited to 15 drinks a day with the package, what difference does it make if one or two people drink. As I understand once the limit of 15 is hit you start paying for the drinks for the rest of the day.
Once you hit 15 drinks, you are not allowed to purchase additional drinks. Carnival likes to be the alcohol police. Lol

A few years ago, we had a large, unexpected expense right before final payment date. Carnival extended our deadline for a few days, saving our trip. As people who do not have or use credit cards, this was a lifesaver for us. Carnival has the best customer service in the travel industry.

Loving your review! We're sailing on the Breeze for NYE this year, so looking forward to the rest!

We've stayed in both cove balconies and "regular" balconies, and the coves are definitely less windy. Also more private, and just better overall. The coves are the only type of balcony we'll pay extra for.

Your pics are awesome! We're doing our first NYE cruise this year, can't wait!

Loving your review as always! Can't believe how grown Sakari looks!

We live in a Tulsa suburb, and we're in OKC for work frequently. While we prefer NOLA if we're sailing out of the Gulf, we've sailed from Galveston many times. If you're wanting a halfway point, I suggest you get as far south of Plano as you can get.
