  1. Odd, my app looks completely different than yours on that same page.
  2. Okay I found it. On IPhone the "Browse our ships" option is no longer on that page. You have to click "Let's add it now" and then scroll to the bottom and find "Browse our ships" there.
  3. How did you get to that screen? What used to take me to that screen just takes me to a list of my cruises or opens a browser to book a cruise.
  4. In the past I have been able to browse around and look at the itineraries and menus of various cruises that I am not booked on. Today, when trying to take a look at Icon's itineraries and menus I found that function seems to be gone. Anyone else having this issue? When I try to select a different cruise it just takes me to my booked cruises and does not let me browse ships.
  5. Unless I am missing something, it appears this functionality has been removed. If I am missing something - can you point the way? I used to be able to do it no problem.
  6. Although it will still be some years before it happens, Amsterdam is moving the cruise port out of the city center (but it would still be inside the locks). Low water like that is very rare here, so I doubt water level considerations play much into it. I live on a houseboat along the IJ (the waterway that connects the North Sea Canal with Amsterdam).
  7. My sister has a service dog who has cruised even on a transtlantic. The "off/on switch" for her is the harness. If the harness is on, she is working and will act accordingly. If you take the harness off, she becomes a regular dog. It's rather insane to see the difference. We did have LOTS of people ask if they could pet her. My sister mostly said yes (what dog doesn't like a little petting?) - however her dog would respond by literally just standing there. This caused no distraction to her and usually the whole interaction took no more than a few seconds of time. Had her harness been off, the petting would have been responded to by licks and jumps of joy. We did find that if we really needed to get someplace the best bath to take was the room corridors because they were usually vacant and we wouldn't get stopped 20 times in the process.
  8. I live in Europe, but book my entire families cruise together (they are all in the United States). My European address shows up on the booking - but I get the US price. I have done this via phone with the US number (partially because we travel with my sister's service dog). We've not had any issues at all, anywhere.
  9. Pina Colada with Myer's Dark Rum. You will never want it any other way again. My experience is the bartenders blend it with some and then add some on top (to the point that it is darn near swimming in rum). Myer's Dark has a very distinctive taste and really pops in a pina colada.
  10. Oasis of the Seas September 29 - October 23, 2024 (I believe in Cadiz, following cruise is a TA out of Barcelona).
  11. This was the case a long time ago and it was very annoying. As of my last couple cruises, this timer was gone and I could refill immediately (which is very handy when you're really thirsty).
  12. The illegal (hard drug) market is thriving in and around Dam Square - although buyer beware, the dealers there target tourist with fake drugs or other schemes. Only weed/hash is available in coffee shops (and is not sold by the street dealers). As for the used car market - it has shifted to online. On the other hand, the used (and most likely stolen) bicycle market is alive and kicking!
  13. Also need to take into consideration that Amsterdam is moving them because they no longer want large polluting ships in the city center and is trying to avoid a few thousand extra tourists being dumped in the city center. Rotterdam would presumeably have the same issues and not want Amsterdam's ships there. Funny enough, just 20 minutes ago I walked outside just in time to see Jewel of the Seas sail by.
  14. Vibe, if I understand your question right, would certainly be the WestCord. The Movenpick is by itself, except for the adjacent cruise terminal. At the Westcord you walk outside and you're in the city center itself.
  15. Not sure where you are checking or what you call a large ship, but for ocean cruises there are: January - 0 February - 2 March - 2 April - 4 May - 26 June - 19 July - 19 August - 24 September - 18 October - 12 November - 6 December - 13 I think perhaps you are not counting port calls perhaps?
  16. I live in Amsterdam and have stayed at the Movenpick hotel (but not the WestCord). Movenpick is very modern with wonderful views of the river. It's a bit of a walk to the city center, or you can take a tram that is available directly in front of the hotel. The Movenpick is directly at the cruise port - you will be able to walk there from the hotel in just 3 minutes. WestCord City Centre is smack in the middle of everything. You will need to take a tram or taxi to get there and also to get to the cruise terminal. The street in front is busy - not sure how quite it will be in the rooms there. It is nearly a toss up, all things considered. I loved the Movenpick and would probably default to it, just because it's something I am familiar with (and especially since it will give direct access to the port in the morning).
  17. The cruise terminal is just being moved out of the city center. It will take years (if not a decade or more) before it is done because an entirely new terminal will need to be built. I live in Amsterdam and watch cruise ships sail by my house almost daily. There is also someone on here claiming that their cruise was already moved because of this, and that is complete nonsense. If their was a cruise recently moved from Amsterdam, it had absolutely nothing at all to do with this. In fact, Jewel of the Seas is currently parked here in the city center. She will sail by my house in about 1 1/2 hours.
  18. Where I live (Netherlands) there are several "all you can eat" restaurants, where you can order up to 3 items at a time. You can order as many rounds of 3 as you want within a set period (usually 2 or 3 hours). The only catch is that you must pay 3 Euro for any item not consumed. Would that be a way to allow people to order as many entrees up front as they want, while being charged for any they don't consume?
  19. Patiently waiting for the Oasis westbound 2024 TA to "really" open. It's there, but is only allowing guarantee bookings at the moment.
  20. 11:25pm here in Amsterdam...I'll give it another half hour or so 🚭
  21. I don't see anything for Oasis after September 2024. I am patiently waiting for her westbound TA to come out. Edit: Odd, if I choose by date it doesn't show anything after September 2024, but if I leave that blank I see cruises into 2025.
  22. Which schedule are you referring to? I've been trying to figure out what Oasis is doing after her summer 2024 in the Med. Wanting that westbound TA in a bad way.
  23. I do not have any details at this time, but the Viking longship Gymir has had an explosion/fire in Amsterdam. No word yet on victims - but there are police/fire/ambulances and busses on scene. I live about 5 minutes from the port. If I hear more I will post it here. Edit: Local news reporting there was an explosion in a battery compartment that started a fire. Some passengers received smoke inhalation.
  24. How many cruise ships have you checked for airflow?
  25. I failed to dismantle the fancoil in my cabin. Do you have photos of yours you can share?
