I completely agree with you! I appreciate all who have posted confirming how CA is distributed.

Actually, I think some Crew have freely shared this information with family, close friends, mostly after their work term has been completed. That is the case of my 3 crew contacts. I can see it being reasonably discussed on social media since there have been changes to the name-CA, tips, gratuities, and how it was and now is distributed. I prefer to know who I am giving money to, as it remains a choice for us to pay it or not.

Do you have proof of this? If so, please direct us to it. I have personally been told by 3 crew now that HaveDog is correct. CA does go to crew as part of their salary. Not extra as tips or gratuity.

I felt “duped” when they said it was distributed “fleetwide.” I will be visiting GS to get answers from them on my next cruise. I’ve also read an article that said Captain gets paid quite well and get bonuses for leaving port on time. Delays can cost $$$$.

And who is getting bonuses, NOW on Princess ships?

Havedogwilltravel has offered some NEWS re: gratuities on other recent threads. Interesting.

If we get invited to lounge in October for SUN signature suite , we will also have to pick up our medallions,. Will have to wait and see if we require reservations for signature area of SUN deck/ sanctuary.

I have stayed across the street at the Renaissance several times and have paid for transportation to the very busy, crowded terminal. So, we travel light and it makes sense for us.

There are atleast 3 hotels within walking distance to this location. So for some of us, it is a benefit, as a couple of posters who have actually taken advantage of it have expressed.

This definitely sets off a red flag for me. Inflated rates for New Years, I presume.

I booked on Marriott site for $303. US plus taxes. September ‘23.

Princess was also using Westin Bayshore in September. We booked it ourselves for better rate.

Possibly an increase in packages if they are included in Specialty dinning, as well.
