  1. I ran this up for our late November Lisbon to FLL TA last Fall on Dawn. That said, one never knows from one year to the next. In 2023, it was more pleasant in Lisbon than the traditional temperatures would indicate. Seas were very calm. 2022 Weather Lisbon 25 Nov, Low 52, High 63 Canary Islands 28 Nov, Low 68, High 77 Antigua 7 Dec, Low 73, High 84 Puerto Rico 8 Dec, Low 77, High 84 2021 Weather Lisbon 25 Nov, Low 48, High 54 Canary Islands 28 Nov, Low 61, High 73 Antigua 7 Dec, Low 79, High 84 Puerto Rico 8 Dec, Low 77, High 84 2020 Weather Lisbon 25 Nov, Low 54, High 61 Canary Islands 28 Nov, Low 63, High 75 Antigua 7 Dec, Low 75, High 82 Puerto Rico 8 Dec, Low 73, High 88
  2. Probably for the same reason as they were removing some of them. Not enough space available to assure that a quick recline wouldn't come into contact with the glass sliding door, possibly taking it out. Given the spacing on some of the crazy small balconies where recliners have been placed in the past, that was my original assumption on the 'removal' issue/thread when 'safety' was mentioned by Celebrity. Someone even posted a photo of a piece of upright reclining furniture placed directly in front of the stationary glass partition of a slider, and while the poster didn't recognize it, the photo made the possibility for issues pretty graphic.
  3. Got it! Thanks! Says should be complete within 7 days and to expect email.
  4. That spreadsheet is in an 'accessible' area of the RCG site, but you must know the url that gets you there, and it's not https://creative.rccl.com - that's just where the file is located. Start here: https://secure.cruisingpower.com There's a fair bit you can see there without need of a login account. From there, scroll down to Celebrity Cruises "Latest Offers" https://www.thecelebritycommitment.com/offers-rewards/ if you scroll down a bit, you'll find the "Exciting Deals" which will automatically download the spreadsheet.
  5. Interesting. I'm also a past SS customer, but only my SS days are showing on my VS statement.
  6. For what kind of goods? They post the list of prohibited items at the pier security entry point, and I've never seen alcohol listed.
  7. Ah ... speaking of rum, since that's one of the more frequent offenders ... All: Don't try to bring home anything > 140 proof in your luggage. A bottle of Barcardi 151, for example, is considered a flammable material, and if picked up in screening, you won't see it in your checked luggage when you get home ... just a note from the friendly folks at TSA who are no doubt enjoying it on your behalf.
  8. Yeah, but there you might have scored a "brand new Whirlpool washing machine!" instead of just a dried out pork cutlet. 😄
  9. It doesn't become an issue until you reach the brow of the ship, and the folks there are very much Celebrity employees. Playing it straight with them has yielded consistently good results for us over many years. The 'local' security people at the dock are confirming that you've got a Seapass and are looking for dangerous items, not 'contraband' like alcohol.
  10. As long as they don't get heated up, and even though Anchorage makes unpasteurized beer, it should hold up plenty long enough to enjoy at home in Aus. Remember, he'll likely be getting fresh bottled at the plant, which gives an edge when it comes to unpasteurized. To @curry767 My own advice on glass bottles is that "if it don't clink, it don't break". I've brought home suitcases loaded with wine successfully. I take a pair of sweat socks for each bottle, slide one on one way, then the other with the second. Stuff it all in between the dirty clothes for the return trip.
  11. Ah, hadn't looked at the app. The web page is certainly zero help in this regard.
  12. It can be voluntarily surrendered at boarding, and rather than being picked up at the 'naughty' table during disembarkation, our experience is that it will be delivered to your cabin door on the last night of the cruise, just as would be any purchases of alcohol made in the ship's onboard duty free shop. This is also the 'correct' thing to do if picking up something rare/unusual at a port stop anywhere along the way. We've found that being open and courteous with the security staff goes a long way toward reaching an agreeable solution. It's possible that they may even wave you through with just a couple of beers. Yes, I'd put it into a convenient carry bag so that it's not a hassle for security to deal with should they decide to keep it for you.
  13. It appears that this still must be done by phone. The Celebrity page still has only the ability to add a C&A number, not Silversea number. and Silversea has no online mechanism to link to either of the other two lines:
  14. Their smaller ships are mainly their 'Expedition' ships. The exception is the Whisper, which will make a TA run in Fall 2025 since it will spend Summer in the Med and then move to S. America for the Winter. One of the the two classes of SS ships that make regular TA runs (Muse class) are more the size of the old Celebrity Horizon class ships with better stabilization technology than they had back then. 213m long for Muse, 208m long for Horizon. The newer (SS Nova class) ships are a bit larger at 244m, while the Celebrity Century class was 260m. We just finished our first SS TA last Fall, and it was just fine. FWIW, the booking discount as Elite or Elite+ should have been 10% of the cruise price per the recent intermingling of loyalty programs.
  15. What I can't for the life of me figure out is what it was that was on the screen at the time. As I say, there aren't any X cruises that fit ANY of the parameters I picked up for that entry! And the Fall 2026 schedules aren't out yet, so couldn't have fat fingered that.
  16. While the ship is no problem, you'll need to clear port security before you can head to the ship, so you'll want to be 100% sure that they are indeed 24/7 at the Lisbon cruise terminal. I'd be really surprised if they're not, but would definitely check.
  17. Rechecked Ascent for Fall 2025: 13nt, Rome - FLL = 1 Sky Left (9190), no other suites
  18. Sorry. Wrong ship? I have zero idea what I was looking at now. 1) Only Equinox is doing ex: Lisbon TA's this year or next, neither of which are 14nt 2) I see NO WB TA's at all for 2025 that are 14nt, much less Ascent Now you've got me wondering what popped up on the screen!
  19. Odd. There are almost no cabins available for this cru Yes, but only if you're looking for an inside cabin, and there's only 4 of those left showing in inventory this morning. Check the *.pdf spreadsheet again. I don't even know why they bothered to add this one to the list. All common categories are either sold out or showing 1~2 cabins remaining.
  20. Which is why they're already booked so heavily, right? First, there are truly hard core cruisers who help to keep these itineraries filled who are already in Europe when they embark. They've just finished spending time somewhere in Europe and are hopping a ride home on a ship either as transport home from a land vacation or as a B2B or S2S from a recently completed European cruise.. Second, "a lot of at sea days" are one of the reasons that these cruises are popular. Some enjoy the shipboard experience itself as much as the 'mobile hotel' experience visiting various ports. I can see that doesn't appeal to you, but it appeals to enough that these itineraries are well booked and hence no particular 'bargain' on a pp/pn basis. Net: You won't ever see any of these cruises showing up in the Exciting Deals list of under-subscribed and price-reduced cruises, which is the subject of the conversation.
  21. Note @Oceangoer2 first hand experience with moving within the category.
  22. That used to be the case some years back. Not so much these days as these cruises have become more and more popular. The X WB Transatlantic cruises we have taken in the last decade have all been sold out or very nearly so. The only savings is in port charges 😉 And we're talking hard core cruisers returning to these year after year. It's now also typical that the suites are sold out early. I just looked at the Fall 2025 options (again) - over a year from now - and it's the same story, especially for Retreat cabins. Normally we could book in the Spring and have a decent selection from which to choose. Fall 2025 WB TAs are as booked as I've ever seen them: Constellation 16nt, Rome-Tampa = Retreat sold out Eclipse 13nt, Barcelona - FLL = 1 Sunset and 1 Aqua left Equinox 15nt, Lisbon - Buenos Aires = Retreat sold out Apex 13nt, Southhamptom - Orlando = 1 Sky left Ascent 14nt, Lisbon - FLL = 1 Sky Left and 1 CS left And among what few remained, you can be assured there are no 'bargains'.
  23. No, no overlap. Exciting Deals are all departing in 90 days or less with a single exception.
  24. There are also a handful of cabin classes on some ships that have no bad locations. As an example, to our mind, the aft corners of the M-Class are all premium, so there are no bad Sunset Suites. Some would say the same thing about a Sunset Veranda on E class. So in order to really provide the OP a full understanding of the consequences of a Move Up bid, we'd need to know the planned destination cabin class. Of course, those classes tend to book up, but one never knows when a cancellation of one of these will open up some prime real estate.
  25. What you CAN do is ask if there are any other cabins left in the category to which you "moved up" to see if you can score one you like better.
