  1. More necessary on your return than going out. Outbound is take the ferry, walk up the hill, choose a bus that passes the attraction. On return you are more likely to have a wait for the ferry.
  2. I walked to the Kona brewery tour where we learned that the bottled beer is produced in Oregon. But they were generous with the beer samples and got a good buzz before noon. The pizza is good too.
  3. I KNOW what I booked. And I KNOW what cabin I was assigned later on.
  4. I recently traveled on the Getaway booking a Solo Balcony (BT). In booking, it came up as a guarantee balcony, not one of the few assigned as solo. A few weeks before departure, I was assigned a connecting room balcony on Deck 13, not one of the so-called designated solos. It was a normal balcony. The single supplement was lower than booking a regular balcony, and I had access to the solo lounge (all solo fares now have access). However, my card was not properly programmed for this and I had to get a new card from guest services (after they told me I wasn't booked on a solo fare, sure). The solo lounge was no big deal. Usually empty, free pound cake during the day.
  5. And sponsored by your local urgent care center.
  6. Start checking the port bermuda webcam when two ships are docked, you'll be able to see the cabs and minivans at the time of day you are interested in.
  7. NO. First come, first serve, and you can't play for long periods if others are waiting.
  8. There are a couple of online services like usebounce where you set up a drop off time and - I guess - businesses promise to hold bags for you at a quoted rate. There are numerous locations. I just went to a show at a theater and they watched my bags during the performance.
  9. Looks like they left an evening early, didn't stay till Friday morning.
  10. There were a couple of cabs sitting by the parking lot when I was at Horseshoe last week.
  11. People try to bodysurf at Horseshoe Bay. Maybe lesser waves if you catch it at low tide, but listen to Charles.
  12. I was told 7:00 pm is the last return time when I asked last week.
  13. I have tried unsuccessfully for years to get this to work. But last week, success. There's a small area by the ferry dock where I could access and actually stay connected. Basically from one side if the Bermuda Visitors Center to the Americas Cup tent by the dock. Also connected by the ferry dock in Hamilton. Move 20 feet away? Poof!
  14. Just got off. Arrived last sunday at about 4:30, boarded a little after 6. Bag was delivered without much delay. We had a rough afternoon Saturday, high seas, wind, rain. At a q & a the captain was directly asked about the mechanical issues on the previous cruise and he blew off the question, basically said "we have no mechanical issues". Nothing more. But it looked like MSC and royal got in on time today?
  15. They gave through 2pm on Friday which more than made up for it since weather was bad tuesday. We hit terrible seas yesterday 11 foot waves, winds up to 60 kts and we arrived in nyc at noon. Your info on buying fares 100%, thanks. Dockyard yes, Hamilton no.
  16. Thanks! This weeks ncl getaway arrival delayed till Wednesday.
  17. Captain announced that repairs were done, no real details. And that seas may be rough tomorrow.
  18. I arrived at 4:00, boarded at 6:15. Lots of people behind me. 9:00 might be optimistic. People are fairly calm.
  19. I'm catching a show near the port but the paranoia about departure time today is distracting. Planning to show up a little after 4.
  20. (a) Don't overshare. (b) Some solo travelers prefer to listen, not share their own personal info. Doesn't mean they aren't enjoying your company.
  21. I haven't been since before (you know what) and back then payment for transit fares was cash only. Is that still the case at the Visitor Center by the Dockyard or in Hamilton? Thanks
