  1. What about the couple where one drinks alcohol and the other one doesn't? Is NCL cheating that couple by making them both buy the drink package? It goes both ways. In the grander scheme of things NCL has it all baked into the numbers.
  2. OP states that all even though the other two passengers in cabin purchased drink package that they were not required to purchase drink package. They purchased soda package. Others have reported that everyone in cabin has to purchase drink package on cruises in other parts of the world. I know that NCL prices cruises differently for Europeans than they do for other parts of the world. I am suggesting than there is at least a possibility that this sharing that everyone seems to be so upset about is already baked into the pricing. And that we should not be so quick to judge the OP. If NCL is being taken advantage of as badly by current policy for Europeans as some suggest then they need to change policy and require everyone in cabin purchase drink package.
  3. Sounds like cruisers of NCL in Europe have a different set of rules than we have. Maybe we should not be so quick to judge what OP does in regards to their use of the drink package.
  4. Assuming this being the case again I say go for it. By not requiring the 3rd passenger to purchase the drink package, NCL condones the third passenger to get free drinks from the other two cabin mates. If they didn't they would require 3rd passenger to purchase drink package. This is an issue that NCL has allowed for and until they change it again I say go for it.
  5. If NCL does not require everyone in cabin to purchase drink package I would say go for it. It is not the same as stealing candy bars from the store or going 1 mph over the speed limit.
  6. As of now the MDR menus rotate. A few basics that don't change and several different entrees that do rotate. They also have a section where they have something you can choose from one of the specialty diners. Enjoy. Prima has great food and there is a lot to choose from.
  7. Most of us have iphones and tablets. At least some of us, dare I say most of us, like to have a physical copy of the dailes to carry around. It is what we are used to. The dailes are helpful to those on future cruises. Gives them some idea what to expect in terms of activities, dining options, whats going to go on in the theater, and overall a good starting point to plan their vacation. Those of us that have recently or have already been on the Prima like to see the dailies posted to see if anything has changed since we were on. IOW reminisce fond memories of our own cruise. Anyway, thanks for posting them. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  8. Like your idea of having a place to recycle the filler. Maybe they have one somewhere on board.
  9. The paper dailies are handy to have. If they want to save money they need to get rid of all of the filler that is stuffed inside the dailies. In our case after brief look at the filler, it goes immediately in the trash.
  10. Amazed that this thread is still around. The mods must take their vacation this time of year.
  11. I think you are overthinking things a bit and getting your facts mixed up. Enjoy your vacation and don't sweat the small stuff. Hope you are starting to feel better from your fall.
  12. That pescado white fish at Los Lobos is really good. Ended up being the best meal on our trip when we were on Prima in December. You hardly see any reviews of anyone ordering it. Well kept secret I guess.
  13. It will be packed for Easter I would think. Get your specialty dinners and Donna Summer and Price is Right reservations as soon as you can. It's a great ship just need a little planning. Hope you have a great trip.
  14. There is a difference in occupancy and capacity. Most sources list the occupancy at 3099 guests assuming 2 per cabin. The full capacity on Prima is closer to 4,000. That is assuming full occupancy in all the cabins. On the cruise we were on there were several families of 4 taking advantage of the promotion where the 3rd and 4th passenger get a deeply discounted rate. It was packed. If I were guessing I would say there were close to 1000 kids on our cruise.
  15. Would love to hear from someone on this cruise who is actually in the Vibe. On our cruise we had wind issues as well. Not really a big deal. The trip down and the trip back are naturally windy. Once you get to the Western Caribbean where you are just getting to now the wind is not nearly an issue. Even on the way down and the way back we spent quality time in the Vibe. I just checked the weather for Roatan and Cozumel and the high at both places will be about 80 degrees and winds out of the east just under 10 mph. If you keep looking you will see plenty of people in the Vibe.
  16. Reading your review made me so thankful we had Vibe passes on our cruise when we sailed Prima in December. For a fraction of the cost of haven you could have avoided all the noise and angst you experienced in talking points #1and 3. We had much of the same issues on our cruise with a ship designed to hold just over 3000 people packed to nearly 4000. We encountered bad weather, unsupervised screaming kids and other unruly passengers but were able to avoid them by spending our days in the serenity and seclusion of the vibe. It was the best $500 we have ever spent on a cruise.
  17. @graphicguy other than the drunk guy at the haven bar did you catch any entertainment last night? When we were on Prima in December the first night in the theater they had a show featuring Familiar Strangers. Not sure if they are still on the ship. They played mostly Smokey Robinson music. Lead singer was probably one of the best singers we have ever seen on a cruise ship. Have you been to the Manhattan bar yet? They have a bartender there whose thing is to balance wine glasses on his head while he is pouring the wine. He even got a tightwad like me to reach in my pocket to cough up a little something extra for his performance.
  18. Looking forward to following along. You two @RocketMan275 and @graphicguy are in for a treat. Prima is an intriguing ship. It's a beautiful and state of the art ship. Lots of really good things but many design flaws leading to a variety of observations and opinions. I am thinking you both will really enjoy your cruise. Not because you are both in the haven but because you have both done your research and know what to expect. But as unpredictable as reactions to the Prima are you never know. Looklng forward to rehashing memories of one of the most interesting ships we have been on during the next week.
  19. Did they ever step up and offer more than $25 for, due to their own incompetence, getting your hopes up?
  20. I would advise you to step away from this thread. If you spend too much time here it may peak your interest and you may decide to give the vibe a try at some point in the future. If you do you are likely to become one of its biggest advocates.
  21. Everyone has an opinion. An opinion from someone who has never paid for and experienced the vibe is worth a heck of a lot less than someone who has. Kinda like someone who hates mexican food commenting about the latest new mexican restaurant in town.
  22. Great post. Probably makes more sense than any response I have seen on this thread so far. I would only add that if you decide to go to guest services and decrease the tips (DSC) you are paying @ConcettaBonetta take in to consideration if you are on the 3rd and 4th passenger in the cabin sails free promo. If you are not go for it. As @cruiseny4life said your choice. You do you. I'll do me.
