  1. We are booked on Ecstacy (because our PVP told us to go ahead) for March 27.  We just got an email this evening they were closing our bookings while they transitioned them over to Spirit. Said they should be done by February 12 and we would receive our new room assignments.

Everything prepurchased would carry over as well as any on board credit. Can’t wait to see what they come up with!

  2. We did the Magic 8 day to San Juan, St Maarten, St Kitts andGrand Turk on January 15. Of course no San Juan and St Kitts was replaced with Antigua.  In answer to your question, the first elegant night was the first sea day, so yes you can be elegant and watch the super bowl. They will probably show it on the big screen and a tv or two in the casino and red frog pub. That’s how they did the first play off games.

Was that an e-mail? I have 2 cruises on the Valor in March and I have not received anything.

You don’t receive gifts until you’re on board. You will have to go to Pixels to get your pin and other gift.

  4. I live in northeast Florida and I can promise you with the 30 mph gusts we’re having right now, there are some very rough seas out there right now!  Read yesterday several ships were unable to dock in the Bahamas yesterday because if the winds. Forecast for the coming week is for nor’easter like winds. Had to cancel our Monday 4 day from port canaveral because I tested positive twice yesterday, so in the end, glad I’m not going in this weather!

This! Every other option requires no testing and no ruined trip if you end up asymptomatic. You can drive/fly anywhere else and have a stress free vacation with zero "protocols". Cruising is too stressful and uncertain.

So you’re asymptomatic and don’t know it, and there you are spreading it all around wherever you’re going. I’m glad cruiselines are testing even tho it just caused me to miss my upcoming Monday cruise because I tested positive twice yesterday with no symptoms. Really doesn’t upset me that I missed this cruise, just got off an 8 day last Sunday so I’m sure that’s where I got it. What does bother me not knowing I have it is all the places I’ve had to go to this past week even tho I was masked up. Was surprised my DH and neighbor who cruised with us were negative. Fortunately we are retired so not having to reschedule vacations.

And to the point of other types of vacations, I don’t fly by choice, but DH can’t because of ear issues. We also could care less about going to theme parks and resorts for vacations. Cruising is the only type of vacation I enjoy.  To each his own tho.

  6. Sundays forecast in NE Florida is pretty nasty! Big winter storm moving in up the east coast. Hope it doesn’t bother y’all too much! We’re leaving Saturday on Magic for an 8 day! This will be 4th time on Magic since August, but this particular cruise was originally scheduled just before Covid hit so hard. Was supposed to be on Radiance then got changed to Breeze and finally Magic! It will also finally be our Diamond! Looking forward to seeing that white card, lol. Been a long time coming.

  7. We went to Atlantis in Early November to go to the casino. We had to take our drivers license and our vaccine cards. The taxi took us to the beginning of the driveway at the front of the casino and let us out. There was a security guard at that point and he checked our paperwork and let us thru. Not sure if it’s changed since then or not.

They did not ask for ANY assessment whatsoever at the terminal. Sitting inside waiting for zone calls now.

Did they check your temp and ask you a couple of health questions? If so, that’s the health assessment. If not, shame on them, that’s supposed to be mandatory. It’s the first thing that’s done when you enter the terminal at port canaveral!

  9. Once was enough for us on Elation! The ship was ok, it’s an older ship and   Smaller. That didn’t bother us. But the lack of a sofa was just bad! We sailed not too long after the balcony rooms were added midship a couple of years ago, didn’t even think about not having a sofa in a balcony room. What a surprise! No sofa and not even a chair in our room or the other 2 couples rooms either! We ended up bringing one of the deck chairs in to have a place to sit! I’m too dang old to sit on a bed! So, no more Elation for us, nor Ecstacy, her sister ship.

youre going to want to bring a soft/foldable cooler. i believe the hard coolers are not allowed.

We always take a small hard cooler and have had no problems. Just has to be within the allowable size, I believe it is 12 x 12.

  11. We went to Nassau on Magic In October. No health visa was required. What was required was a negative test within 2 days of arrival which in our case, we went to Nassau first so were under their threshold, if you wanted to get off the ship.  We went to Atlantis and the taxi let us out at the beginning of the driveway and we walked up just a bit to a security guard who checked our passports and Covid vaccination card before letting us in.

  12. I’ve carried them on one of those little carts, and have also carried on top of my carryon. I do believe if security tore open my 12 pack and searched, I’d just leave it right there, no reason to do that other than they’re trying to be smart a… .  Different story if it looks like it’s been opened.  I have also put a 6 pack of cans in my small cooler, they open the cooler and look at contents and let it go. Don’t have problem with any of that anymore since we don’t drink anymore!
