  1. I'm with you there! We booked this because the departure port and dates worked for picking up our twins from a California visit with family. I learned that it was a Presidents Cruise after final payment date and will enjoy the cruise anyway. I mean, my wife and I will be vacationing without our 16 year old daughters - how can that NOT be fun!
  2. I believe that’s incorrect, or maybe it’s ship specific. We booked for our February 2023 Harmony cruise about 30 day out (give or take) and was able to do all online/thru app. @Biker19 points out a helpful tip; just change the ship/sailing info on your app to see lots of info previously hard to find for future sailings.
  3. Glad it was awesome. We were the other 4 that had to cancel. One of our twins was the "Alpha, Alpha, Alpha" called the night before. She passed out and witnesses thought she had a seizure. She has had issues with dehydration at home (months of Neuro and Cardiac specialist visits to determine this) and had been fine for months. Excitement of the cruise and warm weather she wasn't drinking enough. $2,000 from ships medical later, they agreed - they at first wanted her to be checked out in Aruba. We explained results would show what we already knew. We felt it best to not take a chance on a sailboat in the heat. Stinks because that's the only excursion we wanted to do! Alan was great in the process and we will definitely return to Aruba to enjoy this excursion.
  4. Thanks. I remember on our Allure and independence cruises the spot right before the escalator.
  5. We are sailing on Harmony 2/18 and was curious if Port Everglades was back to selling lanyards at a kiosk right before heading to the boarding area? Our twin 15 year old girls love getting a new one for each cruise (thematic somehow and they have 5 ) and couldn’t for our last cruises out of Miami and Seattle. I’m not trying to resurrect any pros/cons of lanyards discussion, 😄 and I know Amazon has them as does the Port Merchant shop once on board. Thanks for any assistance. Dan
  6. We booked Capt. Alan mentioned above at https://www.dushilifesailing.com/ for our February 18 2023 HOS cruise. I will update after our trip.
  7. I received my Amex refund yesterday from some November 18 cancellations.
  8. it's actually cheaper to buy one device packages for 4 people with this sale. I have always done one person with 4 devices due to savings. Creative accounting for sure.
  9. we have two rooms for our Feb 2023 Harmony cruise. DBP is $5 a day cheaper and soda went down $1. Internet actually increased from the price I paid.
  10. I have been trying to cancel DBP and Soda packages due to lower pricing and that has failed several times.
  11. We were on quantum July of this year on an Alaskan cruise. Had many lunches and breakfasts in the bistro. it was good to grab a coffee and lounge chair then grab breakfast and eat by the window. Dan
  12. Things may have changed since our July cruise. That would be great.
  13. you have the same chance as all the other passengers as I believe there is still no reservation of shows prior to boarding. This has been in effect since COVID relaunch.
  14. I believe that you would need to cancel the one and rebook the NRD under current rates/promos. Depending on sailing date and when you booked, I can't imagine you would realize any savings. Good luck.
  15. We are on Harmony in February. Might be worth it for reserved seating for Grease. Am I correct in assuming the per-person price includes the zoom for each person that purchases key? Wasn’t spelled out clear enough for me. Not that I’m untrusting of RCL!
  16. we did the crabfeast at George Inlet Lodge on Ketchikan. The owner drove the van load of people to the lodge, pretty cool. Great experience and wasn't rushed at all. Sitka we just wandered around town on our own. Juno was where we had the sledding and helicopter tour scheduled but was cancelled. If you can plan that, I would try for earlier in the day as we were booked for 3 or 3:30 and that's when the fog/weather rolled in.
  17. Did the Quantum of the Seas July 4th of this year with our twin 15 year old girls. They had a blast and enjoyed the ports, even though our dog sledding and helicopter tour (not through RCCL) was canceled due to fog. However, they missed the Central Park and Boardwalk of Symphony and Allure but said the sports complex more than made up for it. They weren’t thinking about the weather aspect! Dan
  18. Did you go on this excursion? Any feedback would be appreciated.
