  1. Good morning. A day of house cleaning and catch up today. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports and the maps Jacqui and Roy. Thanks for your dedication. A good quote today and can recognize all those days. I thought today's cocktail read a winner until the melon liquor. Today's chicken recipes look yummy, we have feta but don't keep chicken breasts in the house, I guess boneless thighs could be substituted. Cava is always a favorite for me! Thanks for researching these for us each day. Thanks for the lovely photos of Cobh today! @JazzyV I hope you had a better night and although you are facing surgery you will be happy that you will be getting permanent relief. Prayers for everyone on our care list and those in areas of conflict, Ukraine, Haiti, Israel and the innocents in Gaza. Our Syrah/Shiraz tasting was delightful. Each time we go to these wine events we meet new people and have vibrant conversations. Each table was six people and one couple immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands 50 years ago and the other couple was a former WMU professor and his wife from Melbourne, Australia. Each table got 7 bag disguised bottles of various Syrahs brought by the attendees. It was a grab bag that ended up with three Australian, two French and two from the US at our table. Our overall favorite was the Aussie 5 out of 6 votes was the Mollydooker The Boxer at the whopping 16% alcohol. Then the remaining 1/2 bottles were all rebagged and we drew lots by bag number and we ended up with one of our wines we brought Torbreck The Descendant. As odds would have it we ended up drawing another bottle of Torbeck brought by someone else. At least we ended up with two we liked. To keep from drunkeness each pour were 150 ml measured in a beaker so there was 1/2 bottles remaining. I hope they use the same venue and do a repeat. So many of the events are multi-course meals at local restaurants at a high price. Too many times, goat cheese and lamb are offerings, not my faves and the next one had octopus too. An easy pass on that one. Have a lovely Monday! Nancy
  2. Good morning everyone. Thanks for the Daily Reports and the maps. Interesting days today and a good quote. I love shrimp tacos but enchiladas usually tempt me more at a Mexican restaurant. I will pass on the apple martini but today's Tempranillo looks like a winner. Thanks for the photos of today's port Sandi, it looks like an interesting place. Prayers for all on our care list who are ailing or remembering lost loved ones. Prayers for the people of Ukraine and Haiti and the innocents in Gaza. @marshhawk Annie congratulations on another sale this week! We have a Syrah wine tasting event this afternoon at 4. Each couple brings 2 bottles of Syrah and we will have individual charcuterie boards. Should be fun to taste all the wines hidden in bags and see what is our favorites. Best thing it isn't so far away for once. Have a lovely Sunday!
  3. @dobiemom for the life of me I cannot get rid of the laugh on your message. I am sitting in my easy chair with my laptop and it doesn't want to allow me to change it. I wish our neighbors would turn off their excess outside lights at night.
  4. Good morning. We went shopping this morning, the snow is melting off rapidly. John hit a dead end at Home Depot, the screws aisle was fenced off and the replacement light switch for my bath was $47 so he didn't buy it. I had good luck finding everything at Walmart so that went smoothly. We headed to my small town pharmacy and all the streets were blocked near it so I passed. They will have to wait longer for me to come in and pick up my meds. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Reports Jacqui and for the maps Roy. I miss my cuddly kittens. I have found many photos of them as I am weeding out a lot of old photos in my office cleaning project. A great quote by Eleanor Roosevelt. I will pass on the dish, not a fan of broccoli, what the heck is Pendleton? I always thought it was a blanket. Yes please on the Cloudy Bay. I hope there will be some photos of Madagascar, someday I want to go if HA offers Grand Africa again. Prayers for all of the people involved in the catastrophes in the last 24 hours, the wreck near Bastrop, the loss of two souls on the new Amsterdam and for the huge loss of life in Russia. Prayers for everyone in our group who have been through or facing surgery. Prayers for the people of Ukraine, Haiti and the innocents in Gaza. @Heartgrove thanks for sharing your photos of Sam, what a handsome dog! It is a beautiful sunny day here. I will be sorting photos, working on my plant list for the class and playing the horses at Fair Grounds today. A big KY Derby prep the Louisiana Derby is this evening. Have a lovely Saturday! Nancy
  5. @GTVCRUISER and @lazey1 Bon Voyage! 🍾🍾
  6. @BermudaBound2014 I enjoyed following along on your adventure on the Konigsdam. We look forward to meeting you on the 2025 Legendary Voyage. It sounds like a wonderful trip with caveats such as make your own fun and be prepared for crowding because of poorly scheduled events. Have safe travels home and will see you in 2025.
  7. We had Blue Cheese olives on the Eurodam in Tamarind last month.
  8. @grapau27 I am saddened to read your future Queen has cancer. Prayers for her healing, she is a wonderful woman and mother. πŸ˜ͺ
  9. We visited Falmouth twice this winter on our long sojourn on the Eurodam. The weather was beautiful both days. We walked around the elaborate port area and bought some gifts for people who watch the house. The coffee was excellent.
  10. Good morning everyone! I was going to heading to the grocery before the snow came but we had 3" by the time I got up. It can wait until tomorrow. I have enough lettuce and asparagus to have a balanced dinner. Thanks for the daily and fleet reports @kazu and the maps @rafinmd. It is fun to keep up where our daily friends and Facebook crew friends are visiting each day. I plan to goof off today, birds are already fed. Daffodils are up and the early ones are in bloom but I'm not going out into the snow to get a photo. My hip pain is making it hard to feel young so I will just forget about it as I goof off today. Good quote by Cicero. The coffee cake recipe looks wonderful @dfish, I have had Coppola Cabernet before and unless they have a new winemaker it wasn't my style, thanks for researching this for us @cat shepard, @summer slope I will pass on the minty cocktail. Prayers for all of our group who are having serious problems with their backs and their health. Prayers for those in war zones, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza and the citizens of Haiti. My favorite Daffodil called Gulls, I left them behind in MD.
  11. Good news on John's ear, the black spot is a broken blood vessel He got a refill on his indomethacin for his knee.
  12. Good morning everyone. It is 19 degrees here with 2-4" of snow in tomorrow's forecast. This is the reason we leave Michigan in the winter, it doesn't want to give up. Thanks for the Daily Reports and maps @kazu and @rafinmd. A fun quote by Helen Hayes. I will pass on the crockpot meal but maybe why not throw in some butternut squash in lieu of turnips? Baltimore Bang really looks like a good cocktail for once in a while. The vino looks wonderful. Thanks for researching these for us each day. I look forward to photos of today's port. @JazzyV thanks for the cares and celebrations lists So many with ongoing pain situations, prayers for you and the rest of our group who may need them. Prayers for the people of Ukraine, the innocents in Gaza and the people of Haiti. @Nickelpenny I am sorry you will have to get major back surgery in May. @dfish I am sorry that the PT isn't helping, it sounds like you are doing your own with your frequent exercise. @marshhawk I hope Chuck is doing better and you get a sale before the end of the week. John is off to the doctor. The day after he spread all the lawn treatments last week his knee has been acting up. It got so bad he called the doctor and made an appointment. I am glad he did because he said it was feeling better today. He started taking a strong anti-inflammatory that he got for a bunion. It is rarely prescribed because of side effects. I hope they do some diagnostics instead of giving him more medication. I didn't mention it to him when he left to ask about the black freckle he has had on his ear since I spotted it in January. Hopefully he will get the real issue addressed along with his knee. I have hounded him about it since we returned from the cruise. I am working on sorting through photos and coming up with a plant list and sources for the Zoom class next month. Garden club tonight at 6pm. Luckily the snow doesn't start until later tonight. Have a nice day! Nancy
  13. Good morning everyone Sunlight and snow flurries here. Thanks for the daily and fleet reports Jacqui, I hope you get good results from your x-ray. Thank you for the maps Roy. I plan to be happy today on International Day of Happiness. I am a Sagittarius and my motto is "I see". I always heard we are travelers. Great quote from Benjamin Franklin. @dfish @summer slope and @cat shepard thanks for today's comestibles. I will take a double on the wine. Vanessa, thank you for the cares and celebrations reports each day. I hope that your leg feels better today. Prayers for everyone on our care list and those in war zones, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. Prayers for the citizens of Haiti. @0106 thanks for sharing the very cute puppy. More on the office project today. Sorting photos, many landscape photos trashed and some family photos going to be given to them to enjoy. It is cold with snow flakes and it is going to blow this afternoon. Have a lovely Wednesday! Nancy
  14. @Quartzsite Cruiser Lenda, I read your message yesterday about the Pileated Woodpeckers. We were in Costa Rica on a HA excursion to Pura Vida Gardens and saw one there too. A very versatile bird for sure.
  15. Good morning everyone! I will celebrate nurses today. I see so many in my Dermatologist's office lately. A good quote today from Oscar Wilde. I will pass on another slow cooker dish, would enjoy an LI Ice Tea on a BHB and the wine sounds wonderful too. Thanks for the Daily reports and maps each day Jacqui and Roy. Thanks for the cares and celebrations lists Vanessa. I am so sorry to read that your leg pain is returning. @Haljo1935 I am sorry that you are having such a hard time getting the care you need and will have to live with a numb foot. Prayers for the people in war zones, Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza and the citizens of Haiti. @StLouisCruisers thanks for brightening our first day of spring with your DD's lovely Easter/Spring tree. It is lovely. I am going to do a new outline for the powerpoint for the April class as it is changed, then send it off to the lady running the school. Then more cleaning of the office and dinner out somewhere near home. Have a lovely day! Nancy
  16. @Haljo1935 Full retirement age is the year that you reach age 70. I had filed for SS early but when my DDDH passed away a wonderful agent at the Towson, MD SS office said if I repaid all I had received I could take his payment and I could wait until age 70. It was a big help. I say she was wonderful because she took her job seriously. I had help from another guy in the Philadelphia office to help me get my pay back check entered in before the year end so I didn't have to pay taxes on it.
  17. @Crazy For Cats please let us know if anything is revealed about a Grand South America or Grand Australia for 2026.
  18. @YourWorldWithBill welcome to the Daily. Today's wine 1994 edition. I bet I paid in the high $20s for the bottle at Baltimore's precursor to Total Wine. It has held up well and was delightful with my not quite fork tender pot roast. Power Point mostly complete just need to recreate a new outline. The Pileated Woodpeckers have started to fancy our suet. We are going through a cake per day.
  19. Good morning from chilly SW Michigan. It was 28 degrees when I woke and the ground is white. Nothing good in the forecast either. Thanks for the Daily and maps Jacqui and Roy! We celebrate recycling day and today is our biggest day of celebration, our bin went out for monthly pick up. It is always a worry will everything fit by the end of the month. @summer slope @dfish and @cat shepard thanks for today's comestibles. I will pass on the banana cocktail. I had planned for pot roast for dinner though I slow oven bake it in a plastic oven bag, not doing a crockpot. Lots of tomatoes and onions. Only carrot I have are the sheds for salads but I guess they would work too. I have several cases of Pontet Canet in the cellar that moved with me from Maryland, I will choose one of those to go with. We had brought several nice aged bottles on the Eurodam and two really disappointed at the end of the cruise. I am trying to figure if I am not managing the cellar well or all the vibration and rough seas shook them for almost 52 days and wrecked them. Vibration is bad for wine. Vanessa thank you for the Cares and Celebrations reports. Prayers for @smitty34877 that you had to deal with a broken bed on the weekend. Prayers for Tana. Prayers for all on our care list and those in war zones, Ukraine, those poor souls in Haiti and the innocents in Gaza. Today is working on the PowerPoint. The office cleaning started but just when I was getting on a roll with my presentation John found a place to get a broken part from his lawn aerator repaired. It was a private home so I rode along for safety. Almost three hours shot from yesterday afternoon. Bird seed not dumped into bins either. Have a great Monday! Nancy
  20. Good Sunday morning! Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Reports @kazu and thank you for the maps @rafinmd. Happy St. Patrick's Day! I will pass on the corned beef and cabbage, with sauerkraut yes but not the cabbage. I love a good rum punch and I definitely would love today's wine. We were in today's port twice this year on the Eurodam and once or twice before on the New Statendam and Zuiderdam. I don't have many photos and they are in my phone. We walked the shopping street and found just what we were looking for Cheese Curls and a handbag for our NS Concierge for her birthday. There is also a casino we didn't sample but heard from someone it was rather nice although it doesn't look too nice from the outside. Each time I remember we had lovely weather. @JazzyV Thanks for the cares and celebrations reports each day. Prayers for everyone needing them and those in war zones Ukraine and the innocents in Gaza. Prayers that they can finally get the hostages home. Prayers for the NM State Trooper who died just for giving a guy a hand. I am going to clean my office and rework an entire PowerPoint for a Zoom class. Ugh. I thought about getting a more updated Office package but I decided to use what I have an make the photos brighten my presentation. We have a week of very cold weather. I guess I have to move all the bird feed we bought to the garbage cans today too because all the weather is going to do is get worse. Have a nice day! Nancy
