  1. Subject says it is. Does anyone know what ship (if any) the Stowaway Pianist is on these days? He was on Oasis when we sailed last September. He was great. I understand that he used to perform in elevators, but due to Covid he was performing in public areas. The last post I found here mentioning him was Harmony earlier this year. Is there just one or do they have multiples across the fleet?
  2. Well, there is always the chance that there will be a problem. Sounds like you were on a TA, maybe that caused extra problems with immigration?
  3. I found an old Power Up email and there is a link to sign up for the mailings: Celebrity Cruises Communication Sign-up | Celebrity Cruises
  4. Two new offers? Or two points from previous offers? If there are new offers, can someone please post the links since I no longer get the emails? Thanks.
  5. Will they really claw back the points you got for booking the flights if you cancel later on? Is there any history of them doing this? I would personally suggest booking airfare for a cruise that you already have booked (assuming that it's far enough out), but of the "don't pay until final payment" variety. Then cancel the flights once you get your points, No money laid out like there would be if you booked a new cruise.
  6. It's about time they bring a newer ship up to NJ/Boston! Too bad it's not Silhouette, which has the Lawn Club Grill. I wonder how Martha's Vineyard residents will feel about 3,000 day visitors? Apparently, Bar Harbor residents last week voted to put a limit on cruise ships.
  7. But what time did you (or were you scheduled to) disembark? Presumably you didn't walk off as soon as they opened the gangway.
  8. Thank you! I guess I hadn't gone back far enough since I saw someone post about the offer but did not see the link. Also saw a post with the image and showing where to click, but that didn't do much good if you don't have the email. Just registered my wife and myself.
  9. Did you need to go through some link or was calling OK? Purely by coincidence, I called and booked flights for my rescheduled 2023 Galapagos cruise on Friday. I was calling about seats for my February flights and got a REALLY GOOD agent, and he got me a great deal on my Quito flights. I was on the phone with him for over an hour and a half! For some reason, I have stopped getting the Power-up Points emails. I wonder if there is a way to get them to restart?
  10. Yes, as I was reminded of when I looked for reviews of the Antarctica cruise we're taking in February and noticed that Infinity had problems back in 2019, and they missed some ports and got some very poor reviews here on CC. That's also not a cheap cruise, but not as expensive as this one. For anyone who may care, Xpedition has made it to Baltra and presumably this week's cruise will go off without a hitch.
  11. BTW, according to Cruise Mapper, the ship has made it through the canal but is still nowhere near the Galapagos. But the folks on next Saturday's cruise should be fine.
  12. So I figured that I'd update this and point out that my refunds started showing up on the various credit cards that I paid with (I split my payments to take advantage of credit card deals). So, as we all expected, you were completely wrong in your bogus claim that they would not pay up. And of course I am booked for 2023 at no cost.
  13. To each their own. This tour takes you out of Buenos Aires, so the crime (or not) is a non-issue, at least for me. We're actually going to be there for a few days before the cruse touring on our own, so hopefully it isn't that bad. And the tour guide told me that she wants payment in US dollars, so local currency is a non-issue. Also this tour includes a lunch including beef, although we are doing a dinner before the cruise that also includes it. The tour you described sounds like what Celebrity offers. Not a surprise, since they all buy them from a third party.
  14. Thanks. That is why I am looking for something longer. I heard back from the person was recommended, and she suggested a tour of A DAY IN THE LAND OF THE GAUCHOS. San Antonio de Areco+Estancia and it would drop me off at the airport at around 6-7pm. That is much better than a short tour. Will look at other tour providers who can do something similar.
  15. Tan Thanks, I sent her an email. There has to be something better than the Celebrity tour that does a tour, lunch and a tango show and dumps you at the airport at 5pm.
  16. We are on Celebrity Infinity to Antarctica next February and our flight home from Buenos Aires is not until 10:45pm. Is there a good tour that we can do that will pick us up at the cruise terminal and then drop us off at the BA airport at around 7-8pm? If someone has a suggestion for a tour and guide, that would be great. Some friends who are going to be on the same cruise are doing the Celebrity excursion that takes you to lunch and a tango show, but they end up at the airport in the late afternoon, which is WAY too much time at the airport for me (even though I have Priority Pass lounge access, but they might throw me out after a few hours).
  17. BTW, for anyone who may care, the ship apparently went to Curaçao for the dry dock, and it's currently still in Aruba. https://www.cruisemapper.com/?imo=9228368 We will be going to an Ecuadorian restaurant for dinner on Saturday night, since we should have been eating that food tonight. Fortunately, there is a good one in a nearby town.
  18. Rebooked for next year, and my TA told me "Here is your confirmation for Southern loop cruise, your all paid in full with the FCC they instantly applied to this booking, and they are going to refund your other cruise too you within 7-10 days." So I will get the refund and the free cruise, although I'm sure thee are some here who won't believe it even after I get it.
  19. And very relevant to your post of doubting them doing it for the entire ship, making it seem like it's for 3000 passengers. I also posted the official email from Celebrity. So I'm talking facts, you and Funky are posting uninformed opinions.
  20. The entire ship is 48 passengers. And they did similar when they stopped cruising at the very start of the Covid shutdown.
  21. You're being ridiculous. They literally cancelled what is most people's bucket list vacation two days before they were supposed to leave.
  22. Galapagos cruises always seem to get higher the closer you get to the sailing. This was supposed to be a 2020 sailing. We cancelled before they did and my TA foolishly did not use the Cruise With Confidence to rebook for 2021 at the same price, so we picked a 2022 sailing that was still reasonably priced (2021 was too expensive). As for the options, they really needed to put "and" in bold letters. Our friends who were sailing with us missing that it was a refund AND free cruise. And I initially thought that the "and" was only for the FCC option.
  23. Well, they literally cancelled it at the last minute. They did this when they did the Covid shutdown. Sadly, I had blinked first and cancelled.
