  1. You will also need a negative covid test to board. But you need the ArriveCAN to board even if you are not returning to Canada. In fact, you need one to enter Canada. One for entering Canada and for boarding the ship will do as long as it is within 72 hours of boarding.
  2. What I was hoping to do was to change the card to one which offered me a substantial rebate- the card they have is fine, but no rebate. So there is no way to change the card? Is that possible? Or no way without cancelling and starting over? I don't remember even submitting a card number except when I booked and paid for the cruise.
  3. I have searched the Celebrity website and can find no way to change the credit card to be used should one of our moveup bids be accepted. Am I missing something or do I really have to make the dreaded call. I am particularly loath to do that after spending a very long time yesterday being switched back and forth trying to get help and finally hanging up in disgust.
  4. About 2 weeks before you sail you should be able to check the weather forecast. It won't be perfect but will give you a idea of what to expect. And yes- woldridge is correct that the inside of the ship will be a comfortable temperature.
  5. Thanks all. Just like to know what the rules are.
  6. This may have been answered multiple times but I can't find it. Does the included drinks on AI include drinks ordered in the specialty restaurants?
  7. If you go to the sign in page it says temporarily halted- for virtually all cruise lines. So I am guessing not.
  8. I'd call RCCL again and see if you get the same answer. If yes- I'd get the passport renewed. Just one less thing to be worried about on your way out. LA should be easy- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast/passport-agencies.html There is an office in LA. Here in Denver we have one and I got my renewal in 2 days. I went into the office to apply, and to pick it up.Yes it cost extra but it was worth every penny.
  9. You'll still have a great time! I did not realize that Costco didn't participate and didn't imagine that it would come up with the same 21 day message.
  10. Figure it's a good sign. At least they haven't been rejected. Looks like you may find out when you board. Fingers crossed for you.
  11. I'll take a guess- "co tavts" = "contacts" with a clumsy finger or terrible spell check.
  12. Don’t believe the 21 days. Are you on the Van- Seward Alaska cruise? If so- it opened for me a week ago. But no suites if you are looking for them. We are OV and bidding up from there.
  13. Last I checked the CDC website it was still Orange. Meaning that there at least was some. Just checked again and every Celebrity Ship listed (sailing into or out of US) is orange except the one which is crew only.
  14. I don't think that there is a difference. You end up at the same bidding page.
  15. I never got an email- just go to Celebrity Move Up.
  16. No- you can google Celebrity Move Up or Move Up Tracker. You will be asked to enter your surname and reservation number. If bids are open for your cruise, you will be taken there. If not, it will ask you if it is within 21 days of sailing. Understand that simply to mean- Not Yet. Most seem to be opening at about 70 days out. The bids will all say 0-XXX. But when you move the slider it will show you the actual opening bid.
  17. It is not adding additional guests. I booked a cabin and didn't have the legal name of the other person. So I was listed as the first guest, and my cabin mate was listed as "to be named". I went in later to put in the name. The cabin was booked for two right from the beginning. I think it would be possible to book a cabin for 4, for example, putting in the one name, and listing the other three as "to be named" but still booking it for 4 and paying the deposit for 4.
  18. I've seen it possible to book and make a deposit on a cabin with just the one person and a second (or 3rd and 4th) list as to be named. The OP says that a deposit was made so it was my guess that this was the situation.
  19. Very good advise, although I might have put it differently. I would certainly avoid any cruise lines which easily handed out exemptions.
  20. I agree with Vancouver- the southern part of the inner passage is really quite beautiful, but also wonder if the RT is set in stone? The concern over needing to be tested when returning home would be obviated if you sailed Vancouver to Alaska and flew home from there. No testing necessary. Another advantage is more time in Alaska, less time retracing your steps.
  21. I still get the popup about the $100- despite having made the mistake of signing up to get the OBC. Which, of course, I didn't get. And it is called deceptive when what you are offered is all but contradicted by the small print 3 pages later.
  22. How will we know if you have great knees then?? No excursions. Hm. Okay. Not even to go whale watching?
  23. But that is not the way it works- fair or not. Cruise lines offer to drop prices to stop people from constantly canceling and rebooking. Unless regulations are very different where OP is booking, once you have made a deposit, you have locked in a price.
  24. Of course what you are seeing on uTube shows people very dressed up. Every cruise line wants to make it look like everyone is very fashionable all the time. Not so. First you need to learn what the weather will be- about 2 weeks out you can get a good idea. Days in Alaska are very casual jeans are fine. Nights you might want to up it a bit- slacks and a blouse are fine. A dress if you want, or skirt. Alaska can be a very active cruise. Depending on what you are doing all day you may not be up for late nights cause the excursion the next day may start at 7:30. Tennis shoes, especially the non neon ones, are common.
