Hello here is some positive news: I booked a cruise in 2020 and paid the £500 deposit, then Covid happened. We moved that cruise twice finally settling on an Istanbul to Athens sailing on Oct 14 this year. Then we were notified that Azamara had agreed to charter the ship for the next sailing and it would now be round trip from /to Istanbul. Because it was so far out there were no incentives or OBC but then followed a very good promotion so we upgraded to a continental suite. Because I am a cruise nerd and follow prices I saw that there was an amazing sale this week and the price for the same cabin had been more or less halved per person. I spoke to my TA and asked her to cancel the booking and rebook at the new pricing I was fully aware that I would lose my deposit but would still save £2k. She explained that I would need to pay another £500 deposit which I was happy to do, but she would see what she could do. I received my new confirmation and lo and behold I have the new pricing my new deposit was taken and my original deposit has also been deducted from my final balance. The $500 OBC was forfeited but due to exchange rates I am even more better off. My TA worked wonders and Azamara have come up trumps I did not expect this. But, I have used my TA for years and they are fantastic so there will be a nice gift sent to them.

Hi looking forward to your review, you mentioned that you did a Hawaii / Alaska cruise. Were you allowed to do that or did the ship return to Vancouver. We are looking at doing the same trip in 2025 but the ship returns to Seattle and it seems we cannot do this because of the Jones act. Appreciate your help.

Shhhsh they are fantastic the end ones with the big window forward or aft tremendous but please do not tell anyone the balconies are so small and the overhang from the magic carpet make them so closed 😱😱😎😎🍔🤡 book one but please do not tell

Another way may be to book a cabin at the promo price and then just keep looking for Tha cabin you want and then just call and switch cabin. I have done this a few times tp move to a hump cabin.

We are sailing from Hawaii to Vancouver on the Edge in May 25. Wanted to stay on and do the following Alaska cruise. But have found out that will not be possible due to the Jones act. So looking at other options but will wait until the schedules are released. Can you please let me know when your cruise sailing was released. Many thanks

Hi Ken many thanks for confirming that for me, what a stupid rule but heyho never mind. I will need to look at other options but what a shame we cannot stay on board for the next sailing. However things may change when the Schedules are released. I will just need to be patient, we have friends sailing on a med cruise next month so I may ask them to purchase a future cruise certificate. Once again many thanks for the confirmation 👍

Hi can you please ask if you can stay on the ship and do an Alaska cruise if you boarded in Honolulu even though it arrives in Vancouver but ends in Seattle thanks

Hello all many thanks for all your help and knowledgable replies. It really seems I am not going to stay on the ship, there is no stop before the ship docks in Vancouver. so that option is removed. What a silly situation oh well look at other plans but I would have loved to have stayed on the ship. Once again many thanks

I have just looked at some other cruises. HAL sails from Seattle round trip but docks at Victoria from 8pm to 11:59 so why is that allowed I am really confused😵‍💫

So that is why when we sailed from Los Angeles round trip to Hawaii the ship pulled into Ensalada for an hour. However I will be booking 2 separate cruises which will have different booking references. This just does not make sense

Hi thank you for the heads up but I believe based on 24 sailings that as the Hawaii sailing finishes in Vancouver this does not effect a B2B which ends in Seattle 😎

Hello can anyone advise when Celebrity release the sailings for May 2025, we are sailing from Hawaii to Vancouver on the Edge and would like to stay onboard for the next sailing which looks like Alaska to Seattle based on 2024 sailing schedules. many thanks

When I sign into my account it shows my correct discovery plus status and points total but when I go into manage my reservation I have no status or points. I am sure either once I am on board if it is not fixed by then, it will be resolved.

Hi Jim I know it is unpleasant to complain but we had a situation on our last cruise which was not really acceptable. We or rather I did, again much to my Wife’s reluctance, complain. However it was done quietly on a one to one basis with the host at Laminae.it was sorted never happened again and was forgotten. But it should never have happened at all. I never complain but I expect civility and good service and when not delivered I will make my feelings known, but in a quiet and private way. I am happy to say that the service on celebrity is top notch, we just love our time on their ships. We cannot wait to fully retire and take more cruises like you. You and Iain are so very lucky, safe sailings.

Cranston is the best but I think Celebrity are not being too nice to him. When we last sailed they have brought some other bartenders into the retreat who are not as good. Cranston has been moved for some shifts to the OVC. Why no-one knows and Cranston being Cranston is as professional as ever.

The Riverside Hotel on Las Olas is a really nice hotel their tower corner suite is amazing. Just love your reviews they are so informative but also very very interesting. Safe travels and I am looking forward to when we too have retired and can travel so much. The good news is though, that it will not be too long for that to happen but we are lucky that even now we can take a month off to travel.

Hi Charla, if you get a chance can you ask when the Alaska cruises on Edge for 2025 will be released. We are on a Hawaii to Vancouver in 2025 and could not book the following cruise for Alaska as they have not been released yet. Did not want the future cruise voucher as have heard they are not such a good deal. Many thanks and I think it may not be too long before Gen Z wants to travel with you on all your cruises 😎👍
