  1. Since I'm the OP, going to change the topic slightly (sue me)... I booked a cruise with a TA under some sort of TA Friends & Family sale. It was a good deal at the time. Using the current sale, flash sale, FL resident discount, and a promo code, I can get it for a little bit less doing a mock booking. While I'm waiting for my TA to get back to me, anyone know if she should be able to get me the price drop difference? Only asking b/c I don't know if there are special rules with whatever sale she used to get me the original price and I haven't used a TA in forever. It's after final payment so I believe I'd get OBC but that's fine. It's not a big amount but it would almost pay for dinner at Giovanni's and every dollar counts.
  2. Fine by me. Unfortunately for my TA, most of my bids are for low double digits pp so she's not gonna get much, lol.
  3. Which part of this thread was about eating in a 5-star restaurant?
  4. I'll let others debate the price b/c everything financial is relative. Additionally, if you pay say $1699 for 8 people it's not a fair comparison to paying a good deal more for 2-4 people. That said... My generous FIL got our family of 8 an over the water cabana last week as we were celebrating several milestone anniversaries and a birthday and it was amazing. The service could not have been better. Our server brought stuff without us even asking, brought extras of everything, went to the snack shack for mozzarella sticks, chicken sandwiches and many funnel cakes in addition to all the lobster and filet from the beach club. Frozen drinks were flowing. When we ran out of bottled water in the cooler he showed up with a whole case. I can't commend him enough. The food was also amazing btw. Just for context, I'm very frugal when I cruise with just my wife. We didn't spend a penny on Cococay in 2019 and also loved it. We're even going back twice on a B2B next month where we again won't spend a penny. Obviously you can have a great time without a cabana but we definitely enjoyed ours.
  5. Waiting for my "official" assignment for my July B2B with both legs guaranteed (I'm still 39 and 42 days out or something). I know my cabins from the bar code trick but can't try to switch until they're official... and I definitely want to switch one if not both.
  6. My impression was always that RC is perfectly fine with crew members asking you to fill out the survey and let RC know if you had a good experience... but they do not want them to essentially beg you for 10's. We've had some staff get "creative" with this but not in an obnoxious way. Hope you had a great cruise btw! Ours was enjoyable as always. Suite perks on Oasis class are pretty amazing. That said, still looking forward to our cheapo cruise next month, perhaps even moreso now b/c it will be so different (just the two of us, doing things differently than we do as a family, different class of ship we haven't been on in a long time, etc.).
  7. The app finally became functional for my 7/15 and 7/18 B2B on Indy and I was able to complete check-in by uploading my vax card info/pics. Before just now. the app wouldn't let me do anything and the website only worked up to the arrival time section.
  8. That makes sense. When I got my RoyalUp e-mail for the 2nd leg of my B2B I only then noticed she was CC'd on it. She also said RC should notify her (as well as me of course) if I win a bid but to let her know as well.
  9. FWIW, check-in went smoothly for Harmony last Sunday. We had 10:30am & were there a little early so may have been worse later but no issues early. Short wait outside, short wait inside, then on the ship around 11:00.
  10. On Harmony for another 11 hours or so 😭 My family saw Grease this afternoon. It ran as scheduled all week. The full version. A few shows were moved around (some due to medical, some due to technical issues) but pretty much everything ran normally. I didn’t care for the headliner but that happened pre-covid too. All restaurants were open normally as well AFAIK. This was my first cruise since 2019 & it hardly felt any different than a pre-covid cruise to me (masks notwithstanding).
  11. I’d help but my tags say Pinnacle/Suite & I’d be lucky to be able to upload anything with how slow/unreliable the wifi has been, especially in my cabin. Sorry.
  12. Yeah, it’s not a big deal. I only started this thread b/c it happened to be listed in my RoyalUp email & the min bid seemed oddly low. We’ll be fine with our cave or one of the minor upgrades I bid on besides the Panoramic. Indy is still Indy, Cococay is still Cococay, there’s lots of food & our Diamond drinks are plenty.
  13. Becoming more & more convinced of… 1. They’re great cabins. 2. I’m not getting one, lol.
  14. Nice. I’ve only been on two ships without a promenade & I really missed the open space & feel. Lots of people seem to find them cozy & enjoy the intimacy though. Can’t know til you try it.
  15. Still no check-in at all available via the app for my 7/15 Indy cruise.
  16. Thanks Ron. Definitely give Oasis class a shot. Can always go back to Freedom or Voyager class. We enjoyed Coastal Kitchen. It’s somewhere between a specialty restaurant & the MDR depending on the night IMO. The filet mignon night one was excellent. Other nights it was fine just not as good as the filet. It was also nice to go to the SL for drinks & hors d'oeuvres & then just walk to the other side of the room for dinner.
  17. Any thoughts on these? Wife & I are doing a B2B 3/4-night next month & currently have interior GTYs. We’re frugal & really don’t care about our cabin (hence the interior GTY) but as I was placing some RoyalUp bids for small upgrades mostly for the heck of it b/c the min bids are so low & we got a good deal on our current cabins I noticed the Panoramic Suite. The min bid is still pretty low (less than a Jr Suite) & comes with full suite perks from what I’ve read. We don’t ever use our balcony when we have one so that’s of no concern & the room looked neat but we’d mostly be paying for the perks. Reading my post, just take it as an open-ended question about Freedom class suite perks & if you have anything to share about the actual Panoramic, that’s cool too. TIA.
  18. Sorry, I’m sure this info is in an existing RoyalUp thread but I’m onboard Harmony right now & the wifi is awful. Could I get a quick explanation of how RoyalUp works when you’ve book through a TA? I bid myself, let’s say I win, then what? Does the TA play any role after that?
