Depends on the sailing. Sometimes upgrading to Aqua from a balcony cabin is only a few hundred dollars more. Other times it will cost you well over a thousand dollars more. In that case I would rather buy a specialty dining package. We have been in Aqua numerous times and have always enjoyed the service, but sometimes the menus do not offer what we prefer so we end up eating off the “classic menu”, which is basically MDR food anyway. On some ships, depending on MDR kitchen proximity, they will let you order off the MDR menu, but again, not what you are paying for. You are paying for a more intimate atmosphere and better service but you can always get that in the specialty restaurants if you decide to go balcony.
