Depends on the sailing. Sometimes upgrading to Aqua from a balcony cabin is only a few hundred dollars more. Other times it will cost you well over a thousand dollars more. In that case I would rather buy a specialty dining package. We have been in Aqua numerous times and have always enjoyed the service, but sometimes the menus do not offer what we prefer so we end up eating off the “classic menu”, which is basically MDR food anyway. On some ships, depending on MDR kitchen proximity, they will let you order off the MDR menu, but again, not what you are paying for. You are paying for a more intimate atmosphere and better service but you can always get that in the specialty restaurants if you decide to go balcony.

Sorry to hear about your end of cruise and disembarkation experience. It certainly doesn’t reflect well on Celebrity, as they should have these Covid protocols down to a science by now. Glad you are home safe and can finally relax. Wishing you a full recovery.

Sorry to hear about you getting hit with Covid. Wishing you the best with your recovery! We have been lucky avoiding it with going on 4 cruises post Covid so far and will be on the Summit next month. You never know. I have a question if you don’t mind…….Who is the Cruise Director onboard? I know Rich, the excellent regular Summit Cruise Director, recently left for vacation. Thanks!

Agree Jim. I found the Summit staff exceptional on my 10 day cruise in June and hopping for more of the same next month on the 12 day. Glad to hear some have been extended!

Agree! We will be on that cruise and to pay the Government of Bermuda $80 for a 6 hour visit is insane. What a money grab by Bermuda. Already paid them $80 this past May for a Summit cruise.

Wifi in AQUA 9080 was the worse I have ever experienced on a cruise ship last May

Hurray!!! Was broken since May when I was on and I will be back on the Summit in October so hopefully it will be still working! Was told they were waiting for a part to fix it.

Thanks for your humble opinion on the entertainment on the M class entertainment Jim! Glad to hear it wasn’t just us thinking this. We were on the Summit in June and it was by far the worse entertainment, especially production shows, that we have experienced on a Celebrity ship. We have been on the Summit on 8 previous occasions and always enjoyed the entertainment. Don’t know if it relates to post Covid staffing issues of getting better talent fleet wide or that the better entertainment gets sent to the E class and then S class leaving the M class with “The C team”, sort of speak.
