Yes, I was within 30 feet of the incident when it happened.  Maybe your looking for a video of the actual  incident which I don't have but I did shoot  a few pictures of the scene & didn't think it appropriate to post.

I learned ALL the details of her condition from what her husband told the group they're traveling with afterwards.

You don't have to believe that the deck on the Enchanted has a problem so just move on to another post for your entertainment.

Other's can take it for what it's worth and proceed with caution, or not.

I do not read posts for entertainment, so I do not need to move anywhere.

Be advised that there's a serious slipping situation with the pool decks on the Enchanted Princess. Over the past 20 days we've seen over 10 slipping accidents (my husband included).

The latest being today as an elderly woman at the Wakeview pool who had to be taken out on a stretcher. It doesn't seem to make any difference if the people were wearing deck shoes or bare feet.

They still haven't issued any warnings to the passengers about the issue.

Were you there to witness this fall? I ask as you first blame the fall on the flooring, and then post again that the person falling had A fib. I have posted to you previously about being quick to place blame when it turns out many of the stories you present are hearsay.

How would other passengers know such private details of the person who fell? Very confusing but of concern that private details are known by others. How did passengers learn of the person's condition in such detail such as a heart rhythm described as Atrial fibrillation?

The other ships have been following the same protocols and don't seem to have the infection cases as the Ruby.

If they really felt that strongly the masks would solve any future spread of infections,  they would have implemented the same restrictions on all their ships immediately and not wait until there was an outbreak.

I mentioned the incident to a few crew members and they just thought that the diafectent procedures were better on this ship.

You may be focused too much on the Ruby. If you read about other lines, the same uptick in Covid cases is also happening. Other Princess ships are also experiencing increased cases. Check out Sky Princess and the posting of CDC descriptions of Covid as CDC ranks ships and several are orange-meaning their cases are high enough to warrant an investigation.

BTW- in fairness to most crew members, they are not experts in infection control procedures or comparison of protocols across other cruise ships or lines. I am not sure when you say "this ship" if you mean Ruby. I also suggest  a spell check for disinfectant.

There is considerable research to demonstrate the effectiveness of masking-have you read any of those studies? You indicate you do not use masks as you do not feel they provide as much protection as others think they do. That is not supported by recent studies.

If Princess kept their mask mandates in place-would this uptick have occurred?

  4. I am getting further away from meat over time. I did not find Regal's beef of any quality and never even  mentioned our MDR experience!

I prefer seafood, chicken or other options.

Waynetor- I agree and posted to check the menus and narrow choices.

You must have had good experiences on your Caribbean Princess cruises! Good to hear.

We had the one weeks comparison from Regal for Sabatini's and CG and not here to share anything but our own experiences.

  5. Did you find the two menus on the Princess site or Internet? That would help to narrow your preferences.

We sailed on Regal in February. We had 3 lovely dinners in Sabatini's, but stuck to the seafood parcel and the linguine with clams and shrimp. Both very good. Appetizers we enjoyed included the calamari.

Loved the salad of arugula and pears. Service exceptional!

We had 2 dinners at Crown Grill. One night we had tasty lobster tails and great service. The last night of the cruise we returned to CG again. Filet was a cheap grainy cut of meat with a lot of fat. Disorganized service with multiple waitstaff coming to the table repeating what another just said or did. We left without eating as it would have taken forever to have new dinners served.

Just because they are termed "specialty" does not make them special all of the time.

  6.  Drinks in the concierge lounge during happy hour were complimentary. You could also have comped drinks at any bar during this time. If I remember correctly, the number of drinks was 3 or 4.

That might have changed as we have not sailed with RCCL for a few years-made a switch to other lines such as Azamara and Princess.

  7. We were on Regal in February. There was one trolley car at the most distant point of the pier and connected to nothing. On the way back, that car was gone.

No sign of any trolley but they sure could use it even with a small charge.

  8. We did not have an escort on of off Regal in February. Did not need one boarding as we arrived at 1:30 and we sailed right through all areas. Debarking was easy. We were allowed to leave at our leisure as suite guests. Hate to say I did not want to leave!

We had a nice Sabatini breakfast on debarkment and were able to walk off as we were already on that deck.

Interesting change for customs and immigration. No form listing purchases required and they use facial recognition from your passport instead of a passport.

  9. We were in a suite on Regal in February. First night dinner was comped in either Sabatini's or Crown Grill. Nice perk. I agree about the suite breakfast. It is a great way to begin the day. There was a Suite/Platinum and Elite lounge each night. Service was so poor we left. Two waiters for the entire room. You paid for your own drinks. This is not RCCL. We sailed many times on their ships and enjoyed their lounge.

In Sabatini's they check your stateroom number when you first enter for breakfast. No pax from non suites were allowed in.

  10. We have sailed on Royal, Princess,  Norwegian, Holland, Celebrity and Azamara. Sailed Azamara Quest and Journey. Out of all of our sailings, Azamara was definitely the best overall. Varied menus and high quality meats and ingredients in their servings. From their main dining to specialty restaurants, all was enjoyable. They have an outside grill area with tasty options throughout the day. Special events were just that-special! I will always remember their holiday buffets. Just incredible! Will plan on sailing with them again as I get tired of the less than good offerings. We are just off Princess and not impressed once again.

  11. We sailed on Regal 2/19 and unfortunately, the week came to an end. We are foodies-except not big on meat. We were in a suite, so had the opportunity for breakfast in Sabatini's. We came to know Franco, the manager quite well and I echo others saying he would not want any guest to be disappointed with their meals. We actually also ate dinner there 3 times. Loved the seafood linguini, but asked for only those wonderful clams. Loved the seafood parcel-the broth was a delight.

I tried the burrata cheese and tomato appetizer as well as the escarole and celery salad-all tasty!

    The wait staff were exceptional.

We did go to the Crown Grill-once very good with lobster tails, and the second not so great as the meat was not good quality.

Alfredo's service and food very good. Did not do the MDR too often-went to Horizon Court for the Mongolian Barbeque night.  Each night, we checked the MDR menu, Horizon Court and decided where to go. We were able to eat at Sabatini's and Crown Grill without a reservation so that worked well.

I did not like the entertainment. Only one real show and it was so crowded, we left. You can easily tire of the few musicians that rotate among the ship venues and none IMHO were that great.

Overall, service was good. Not the perfect sailing, but still wonderful to be back on a ship.

Sorry we never received a post cruise survey so we could recognize Franco, Michael and Jose from Sabatini's among others.

Glad Enchanted was such a good experience for the OP.

  12. DUMB! Posted twice when I really wanted to tell the OP we sailed on Sky January 2020. That was our last cruise prior to the pandemic.

The ship was WONDERFUL. We had a suite and I know that helps but once you leave your stateroom, your accommodations do not matter.

The ship is lovely with so many areas of interest. I hope you enjoy Sky and it is laid back. I hope you have a great sailing and enjoy this beautiful ship!

We have one speciality restaurant included in with our booking.  Can we make reservations on the app before we sail?

Which should we pick between?  Steak or Italian restaurant?

We sailed on Regal and miss Sabatini's! Service exceptional. You have to like what is on their menu.

We loved the shrimps and clams with pasta and the seafood sampler. They cook the seafood in parchment and it includes clams, shrimp, scallops and mussels. I do not eat mussels so they did not include them. The broth is spectacular soaked with their bread.

I am not a meat eater so can only speak to seafood items.

We did eat twice in Crown Grill. First night was wonderful. We had lobster tails.

Second time was not good. Ordered an 8 oz filet mignon that was full of fat and grainy-not quality meat so we said thanks but we are out of here and they respected that.

Look at the menus and decide on your favorites.

We were never able to make dining reservations on our app prior to boarding! Maybe you will have a better experience.

We had an experience in Club Class dining where the "beef medallion" was so full of fat, I could not consider eating it.

When all failed, we went to Horizon Court and cruised the offerings and always found food of interest.

  14. Alfredos-We are just off the Regal 2/19 sailing and went to Alfredo's for twice for lunch. Very enjoyable.

Their menu includes a focus on pizza but rollatini and agnolotti (pasta pockets with veal) are offered. I do not see any other pasta dishes on the menu we have from the sailing.

Their two antipastos are excellent (one meat and one veg) and their minestrone soup is outstanding. Fresh vegs in the soup and light-not heavy as I so often encounter.

Pizza's are fresh, large for one person (IMHO) and you have many choices.

Service is excellent!  All food is fresh and tasty.

Wish we could go back for lunch tomorrow- so enjoy.

  15. We are just off Regal. The Horizon Court (buffet) menu was not listed even once on the stateroom TV. Agree with others that Patter does not feature anything but their hours.

We did have one night where they hung oriental red paper lanterns and that reflected Mongolian barbecue and other oriental dishes. We did sample the stir fry (pick your own contents) and it was quite tasty. You would have to go to the area to see nightly features-Princess could make an improvement here for sure.

  16. Onboard Regal right having left 2 19.

One nighttime show so far and we would not stay as it was wall to wall people.

Have to laugh as we are told to social distance in ports.

Nightly there are musicians in the bars, where maybe it is hoped you buy a drink.

There are 4-5 musicians that rotate the piazza and bars

I look at the Patter and see a trend of nothing of interest.

The day has knitters and knatters every AM! This reflects the level of activity.

MUTS are the same as stateroom options.

Overall, activities are lacking and our stateroom movies help.

Had I known that Princess would scale back so far, I would have cancelled or asked to reschedule.

We have a suite and even that does not make any difference. The service in the Suite/Elite lounge was so bad we left. Did they care? No!

So sorry for this experience as our previous sailings were magical.

There is a serious lack of adult leadership needed here.

I think it is time to rethink our next cruise and unlikely it will be Princess

  17. Fixed my problem with the cruise contract. I backed up and completed the health screening questions for both of us. Then I was able to return to the cruise contract area and the two "confirm" links were visible and after days of trying to fix this issue- something finally worked. Thanks to those who offered good advice!!
