  1. This is a delightful and informative virtual adventure! Loved hearing the history of your cruising years ago.

The flight details were so well described, I felt like I was there with you.

We have not traveled to Singapore so are so interested in your observations.
You have done an incredible job and I look forward to following your adventure.

Thank you for taking time to post this virtual event.

  2. Double YUM!! Love the Tamarind menu and choices would be a challenge as so many items sound wonderful.

Same for the Pinnacle-lovely food and as usual, exceptional pictures.
Thank you for explaining the Pinnacle-we have only sailed once with HAL so I am not familiar with their restaurants.

Food looks excellent in both the Tamarind and Pinnacle-sign us up!

  3. Be sure to take a screen shot of your submission and save all communications from NCL once they say they received your request. Hate to say, it is a request until we start to hear NCL has issued refunds for the many that requested them.

  4. Great video and thank you for posting. You can see the number of Princess ships anchored off Manila on the Princess webcam site. Many there for long periods of time with more  enroute. It makes me wonder how long it would take for crew members to return before sailing begins. It has to be so hard for those on ships for extendede periods of time!

  5. I am so fed up reading the hurdles everyone has facing them just to have Princess do what they ask- either cancel or if you choose an FCC-fine!

This game playing of applying cancelled cruises to newly booked cruises defeats them but do they realize this?

I am waiting on 2 refunds and not booking anything until those $$ are returned to me.

Wow-for lines looking for cash for future bookings, they best work this out for the sailing passengers.

  6. This thread is a hoot!

I miss complaints about chair hogs-none here so no need to complain!

Complaints about the pools overrun with kids.

I miss reading complaints about food but likely they were spot on.

I miss complaints of being unable to access concierge lounges.

I miss complaining of my own experiences : )

    No cruise-no complaints!

  7. You can post "Cozumel taxi fares" in a search engine and they have actual pics of the rates. You do not mention where you will dock. The downtown pier (Punta Langosta) or the more southern International pier. Both are around $17 for 4 but that was in  2019.

We spent one Christmas at Nachi and had a good time. Good food and service and not crowded. Both the pool and beach were well maintained and enjoyable.

Have fun once sailing to Mexico begins again.

  8. Tedferg-Here is one more for you! We have sailed on the Caribbean Princess twice. First time we were upgraded to a suite on the Riviera deck. WOW! When we sailed on this ship again, we had to go back to that same suite area. Liked the ship! Had great times with their entertainment, food was good and we would jump on another cruise as soon as this pandemic is under control. You will enjoy your cruise and Canada/New England is a delightful experience.

  9. I see a request to get back on track to elevators on cruise ships, but feel it best to share a link from the CDC on masks.

I realize they as so many federal agencies have not done well in this pandemic, but I hope they can at least provide guidance on what are the safest masks. So many vendors are selling who knows what?

Take this as information to use or not. Hoping all stay safe and healthy.

  10. Well-We wear our N 95 masks when we do venture out. To be honest, I do not see anyone even reacting nor realizing an N95 mask from any other mask. Interesting that  you have others reacting. Most do not even notice what masks are in use.

We are in South Florida and I see you are also in Florida. What makes the difference?

  11. Coffeebean-There is no restriction on N95 masks to be used by  the general public. I am a nurse and am not aware of any CDC- or Dr. Fauci restriction on the use of N95 masks. Dr. Fauci does not set policy-he offers recommendations on pandemic issues.

The CDC has no guideline on the use of N95 masks for public use.

The issue is there are not enough of them for healthcare workers or the general public. Home made masks and other such facial coverings are in place of the more protective N95 masks.

Anyone prior to this pandemic could purchase N95 masks online.  CDC has published lists of approved lists in place of N95 masks and if anyone can find them, they are welcome to purchase these masks for personal use.  I purchased N 95 masks during the last outbreak and was fortunate to have them for this pandemic.

I would also add not too long ago, Dr. Fauci was downplaying the value of masks for the general public. He has since changed that position.

  12. We sailed on Regal for Christmas 2019 directly across from the concierge lounge. It was great to just cross the hall and enter all times of the day. No noise at all as we did not see many there at any given time. We were mid ship and loved the access to the lounge. In early January, we had a forward suite and it took time to walk from our suite to the lounge, so used it less.

Not to worry! No noise-it is not like an RCC concierge lounge.

  13. WOW! Through your virtual sailing, I have experienced so many new places that I need to see again. This has been such a wonderful tour and many times it did not seem virtual.

I will read this entire thread again for my favorites including Fernas Stew, Mont St. Michel etc.

I know we are all hoping to sail soon, but looking at the whole picture, we will have to wait.

Thank you again for sharing your tour. You did an incredible job.

When is your next virtual adventure?

  14. OP-after reading of your experience with a cancelled cruise, I went into my NCL account. We were to sail on Dawn 3 23 20. It was cancelled by NCL and I filled out and have an email receipt of my request for a refund. In my account, this cruise on Dawn is now listed in my cruise history and they gave us 14 points! This makes no sense to me. It looks like that Dawn sailing actually took place.

I called NCL and they said wait 90 days and the cruise fare will be returned. I asked why is a cancelled cruise listed in my cruise history and 14 points given??? They said that is a default. I asked what that meant? Default? YIKES!  This is one of two NCL cruises we had booked. The other would have been 5 23 20 and that was cancelled too. I again filled out a request for refund.
