  1. Has anyone used the retreat, what's it like , is there plenty of space, can you move in and out of shade , is it sociable. We have a big balcony at the back , but it seems a bit unsociable to lock ourselves away , we my wife especially thinks half the fun of a cruise is talking to others. Yet don't fancy the daily fight for sun beds . Should we use the retreat.
  2. Clearly no one cares , the only standard "Cunarders" care about is dress code, and that's now the same as any other cruise line Any way I'll be happy in a restaurant no one uses as a shortcut
  3. Also because it would have not added much revenue. 100 cabins cancelled. A 10% reduction may have saved say 50 cabins , revenue 50*90% . At say orginal price £10000 per cabin £450000 extra 10% off the remaining 300 cabins 10%*300 at £10000 = £300,000 loss So a small marginal gain. If they'd given bigger discount could have kept more people , but a gamble, could have given the discount and only kept a few people and lost on people who would have stayed anyway. . 're the cancelled /aborted/ diverted etc cruises , shareholders may call it insane compensation, but its what they would most likely have ended up being made to pay. Anyway one other good thing about less than 60% occupancy, plenty of room for social distancing at meals. Should be no close contacts and forced quarantine, with 1038 dining seats and under 600 people, even if everyone turns up at same time
  4. 191 twin , 30 singles on sale. So should be plenty of room, but with just under 600 people on board still plenty of company, it won't be like the Marie Celeste
  5. Does it say requests or requires a mask to be worn. A BIG difference.
  6. A bit perplexed at whats this got to do with what i said. I was disagreeing with passengers who were not dining in Brittania, walking through Brittania and potentially distrurbing others to say hello. A practice you endorsed wholeheartedly, but now say it's only ok for another M.D and even they should ask first. I still think it's more considerate not walk though a dining room you are not dining in , but go around
  7. Whether other people notice or not. I would know that I wasn't dining there. So even if i felt it was creating only the very very slightest disturbance to others, I would take the long way round. As to paying respects, ie saying hello , to staff you know in a room you are not dining in .The question I ask is , if what would be the response of the QG , MD if people kept wandering in to say hello, I'm sure he would politely discourage them. Just because Brittania is more open , it should be treated with the same respect. But on the other hand , I'm far more relaxed about what others wear. Respect is what you do not what you wear. Clearly of course if like the pool terrace the only disabled access is through the Verandah this doesn't apply.
  8. 33 P&O cruises , they should name a suite after you. But a least the libraries are open on P&O , Saga are still pursuing last year's Covid restrictions.
  9. Once people have settled down can only apply to fixed time dining. There are stairs and lifts that go directly to club dining. I still think it's just more considerate to use these rather than walk though the Brittania dining .
