Thank you RyderJ201!  It worked on the planner indeed.  I didn’t think of the planner and was just driving myself crazy trying to place the order.

The app is pretty bad for most pre-cruise purchases.  I always used the website as there is far more functionality and way more things in there than on the app.  App is good for onboard.

Hmmm  OK I will call RCL and let you know - don't want to spread misinformation...

not only that, but you will not have your wifi package now since your TA is refunding it.  It's one of my pet peeves that it's not included for GS and above on the older ships.  You'd think it would be an easy thing for them to do, to toss us a bit more, but nope. Just Oasis and Quantum class.  It's why I tend to not bid on upgrades on those ships because other than the bigger room and having a happy hour in the suite lounge, there's not a whole heck of a lot of benefits.

Can you get to Nellie's Beach and Columbus Cove and avoid the aggressive people? Did you feel safe while at beach/swimming etc?

Yes on avoiding--take the tram or walk the path that doesn't go through the market.  I have always felt totally safe swimming there.  Columbus Cove as very calm water.

  4. So it's been 45 minutes, his Covid test should have given you results by now.  If he's positive, check your insurance fine print to see if you have that coverage.  Secondly, you have been exposed and in very close contact.  You could be positive sooner than later.  They will ask you questions during the health check that would require you to lie if you want to board the ship.  Your fellow cruisers would probaby appreciate not being exposed.

If booked through Royal and it runs a little late past all aboard then yes they would more then likely wait.  If on a independent excursion no guaranty at all that they would wait. ...1025cruise must have had a bad experience.

The question is that if the OP books two excursions on the same day, and the first/earlier one runs late getting back, will the second excursion wait for them.  That doesn't seem fair to those booked on that other excursion if they end up having to wait and probably shortening their excursion.

Some ships imho really shone after their amp ups, Freedom for example came out a whole new ship.  Explorer, not so much they jammed in slides, no playmakers, and now no kid's area so literally to me all the hype for Explorer amp in March and we got slides?

Royal didn't say they were finally amping her.  They added some things, but a full amp wasn't what they moved forward with, likely due to budget.  They don't list her as being amped on the website.  I never saw any 'hype' from Royal themselves about it.  I did see a lot of speculation on these boards though.

Some of us were on Voyager last winter and I wouldn't say they've done much to amplify her except add a waterslide.  It'll be interesting to see what they plan for these two drydocks.  Are there any other Voyager class besides Navigator with the extra venues like Playmakers, Loco Fresh etc.?

I could be totally wrong here, wouldn't be the first time.  But Royal lists Voyager as one of the Amped ships. With Liberty, Adventure and Allure yet to be Amped, and Voyager being classed as already having it done, not sure they'll do much.  For Explorer, they didn't do an Amp, but added slides.  I would think if it came down to choosing, Allure and Liberty would be getting the Amp $$$.   Also, Voyager is the oldest in the bunch of ships that were already done, or were on the list to be amped. Not sure they'd be pouring more money into her other than keeping her up her maintenance.

I will be cruising out of Galveston to Western Carribean on Thanksgiving week.  Due to high conflict divorce, I do not know if mom of children will surrender their passports to me.  My travel agent told me that, based on my cruise, that I can use birth certificate instead of passport for the kids 10,8,8.

I just got the birth certificate, it looks official from the state, but it just says on there DOB, file number and name.  No foot imprint or any pictures.

Has anyone used a birth certificate to get on board?  If so, does this sound right to you?

Ones from the state don't have the foot prints or pictures.  Those are hospital ones and you can't use those to board anyway.  You need the official ones from the state, which it sounds like you have. Do you have joint custody and an agreement where either of you can take the kids out of the country. I ask because you say it's a high conflict divorce and if she won't surrender passports, that usually means she doesn't want you to take the kids out of the country.

I just found out after our recent cruise we have moved up to platinum! Do we get a new card and pin or anything with our new status?

with the recent 'enhancements' to the C&A program, a pin is no longer given until you reach Emerald.  Maybe the loyalty ambassador will still have some, but it has been removed from the list of benefits. Here is the link where you can see all the benefits for each level.   https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/crown-and-anchor-society-benefit-grid.pdf

I think people with on board credits to use up from the covid days are driving the price increases for beverage packages, private island excursions, and the KEY.

The KEY price above 25 dollars makes no sense.

I had 7 cruises canceled due to Covid--and got Future Cruise Credit, but not really much onboard credit--two separate things.  I've already used my FCC.  I think there is more and more demand for a 'VIP' type of experience. It has been selling well, so they inch the price up.  If it still sells well at the higher price point, they made the right move for the company's bottom line.

Does "The Key" ever go on sale? I am sure I will not receive anything from RCL to let me know, but other than just keeping an eye on it, is there a better way to know?

It does, but the price overall has gone up a LOT in the last 6 months.  Also, there are only a certain amount sold, so they can and do sell out. Maybe that's why they have raised the prices so much.

I know we are allowed to carry on 1 bottle of wine or champagnes per each adult (drinking age adult).

And we can bring 12 (17 ounce) of a non-alcoholic beverage.  Is this per each adult or is it per state room?

Also will we check these "carry-ons" with our regular luggage and they will be delivered to our room or do we have carry these item onto the ship and walk around with them while we wait for our room to be ready?

A carry-on is not left with the porters and the rest of your luggage. It's exactly as it sounds--you carry it on...and keep it with you until rooms are ready.  If you're bringing the 12 pack of water and/or soda per stateroom as well as a bottle of wine per adult, I suggest you get a small bag with wheels because that stuff gets heavy. And by small, they have wheeled small backpacks or small wheeled luggage that would fit uder an airplane seat.  The ship is crowded on boarding day until rooms open up, so dragging anything too large will be a hassle.

On Allure in April, WJ had the same theme nights as the MDR. A few items were exactly the same, some were "variations" on the MDR item, and there were always additional items in the WJ that were unrelated to what was being served in the MDR.

This is what I'm hoping, because the WJ is where we go when we don't see anything on the MDR menu that sounds good.  I have seen the reports that they are mirroring the menu, which would mean going to the WJ would be pointless if there weren't additional choices beyond the MDR items.

Hopefully a simple question here.  Our original family group of 6 adults booked into 3 balcony rooms on the Wonder.  At the last minute, my sis decided to bring along two grandsons (ages 20 & 16) and they were booked into a room that can accommodate 4 pax.   Our other 2 balcony rooms accommodate 2.  Sis’s plan is to shift one of the teens to one of the other balcony rooms when onboard.  Will RCCL allow this when onboard?

    Thank you in advance!

If the other rooms only hold 2 people, there won't be anywhere for that 3 person to sleep.  Especially since they are not small children, but adult-sized.  So it wouldn't be allowed if the amount of people exceeds the room's sleeping capacity.

  15. Ouch.  But with massive bookings through April of 2025 for Icon along with all the other fully packed ships going to Coco Cay and Nassau, I guess they really couldn't cover that much $ that they'll need to fork over.  I might need to change my sailings booked with my friend "Jane Doe' to be just me.

I booked direct, would I just call customer services?

yes and if you do switch, cancel the Royal Up request.  Some have reported that if they didn't cancel the Royal Up after upgrading themselves the way you are planning to do, they got the Royal Up, card got charged, and they basically moved to the exact type of room they just moved themselves to already.  And paid for it twice.

I checked out the app for our coming cruise in Sept on Navigator and I can also make reservations.  We have the UDP yet when we try to book reservations it is showing a dollar value for the reservation.  How do you book reservations when you have the UDP?  Does that have to be done onboard?

That is the trade-off for the discount by buying the package.  You will need to book when you get onboard. As long as you're flexible with days and times you should be able to get into the ones you want, but the 'prime times' might already be booked by those who booked each individual restaurant and paid significantly more.
