We were on Vista last month and really enjoyed Ember. It was a nice change from some of the fancier food we'd been eating and was very enjoyable. Please don't try it because of things some people who might not have ever been there say.
My husband and I were never a fan of Jacques. My husband worked for a French company for 30 years thus many trips to France, I've probably been there at least 30 times and I hate to think of how many times my husband was there. We never thought Jacques compared much to the real thing. At one time there was a restaurant in Des Moines that was had much better French food in my opinion but it's gone now. To me it seemed more like a 60s or 70s French restaurant which was meant to impress. But many people really enjoyed it and I respect their opinion. I love mille-feuille and I tried it twice there and both times it was not good. In fact it was bad.
We were very happy with the food on Vista. One of the highlights of our food experience was the wine luncheon they served. Yeah, it was expensive, $159 per person plus a $20 service fee but oh it was good. We were able to taste wines we probably will never buy a bottle of but it sure was fun to taste and the food was really, really good.
The new Aquamar Kitchen was excellent and we aren't health food nuts. It just had good food and we ate there several times and were always impressed..
I share your opinion of Jaques. It's my least favorite restaurant. Overprepared bland food.

On our upcoming April Riveria cruise, there are no La Reserve dinners being offered.
On our Marina cruise starting next Sunday no La Reserve dinners offered. Don't know if there will be any available on board.

Did you call or try to book online? We were able to secure passes for two 2025 cruises by calling.
Was trying to book online. Thanks for tip.

not sure i follow... pre-booking the vibe has been allowed for a year or so. it's a thing. the "glitch" refers most likely to a legitimate glitch in which more passes were sold than were available OR it's NCL's way of avoiding explaining that they sold all or a large portion of the vibe in bulk to a large group after they had already committed that same vibe capacity to individual travelers.
That's interesting as my cruise last year and upcoming cruise in April is not allowing pre-booking.

Speculation on my part. Was the "glitch" allowing prebooking of passes? Resulting in all prebooked passes canceled. If so OP would have a good chance of booking on board.

I applied for the stockholder benefit and received the $100, however they split it between the 2 guests in the cabin. This is strange to me because other cruise lines give it to the stockholder named on the statement. Is there anyway to get them to put it only on my account. We both have different accounts set up for onboard expenses. Thanks
No

Time line of our E-Visa Saga:
1) Dec. 2 Applied for E-Visa's My wife and I.
2) Dec. 4 Received email requesting 60 days of bank statement with 2K minimum. Uploaded new docs. Realized the statement did not have either of our names on it, but Brazil and VFS accepted it. Go figure....
3) Dec. 5 Received QC complete email and notice documents sent to Brazil Authorities
4) Dec. 16 Sent email to VFS help desk.
5) Dec. 28 Received email asking to reupload pictures. I was expecting this as my original pictures were not 2" x 2". VFS had accepted them for some unknown reason. The pictures were to be attached to a reply to that email, not on the website.
6) Dec. 29 Received notice our new pictures were received and sent to Brazil Govt.
7) Dec. 30 Received response from Dec. 16 inquiry stating meaning of status. No Help
😎 Jan. 2 Received E-Visa. Logged into website showing approved and visa was available to download on the website. Have not received email yet with "visa attached" but have them in hand.

Most of the cruises are 10 to 25 percent off. I was curious which were 50% off. Found the ones sailing from Dubai to Barcelona that went thru the suez canal and red sea in may 2024 were 50% off. Do I feel lucky(no)...

Moknows, my son spent two hours helping Me do ours last night. They kept rejecting my picture and he kept resizing it. He finally got a png to work after 45 minutes.
Now I have a question. I received a confirmation email saying my payment was complete and there’s a sentence that says you can now follow the status of your application here. Here was in red so I clicked on it. It says sorry you have been blocked. You’re unable to access vfsevisa.com.
What in the heck is this about? Anyone else have this happen? Thanks
Links in the emails don't work. You'll need to go to the vfs website and click on the staus link there.

Unfortunately i am going to have to wait till his gets further in the process because right now it says "submission success" so I can't amend anything till he gets an initial evaluation and then I assume they will ask us to "resubmit" his photo. I was able to submit his application without any passport photo attached...probably shouldn't have done that.
I wouldn't be too concerned. They will likely find other things to also require resubmission.

My husband’s photo was rejected because they wrote that his ears weren’t showing…and he has a military hair cut.
Now that's just funny.(and sad too)

So, I just heard from a friend, not on roll, that Visa Central rejected her visa photo because her ears weren’t showing. Has anyone else experienced this from any of the submission sites?
I haven't heard of anyone experiencing this but did read on some guide(don't remember where) you may need to stick cotton balls behind your ears to make them visible.

Mine was denied saying because I booked my cruise during their Summer Sale, it was ineligible. Anyone manage to get the credit with a sale booking?
Yes I received the credit on the summer sale.

Are you both using TA's or going directly with Oceania?
Direct . It shows as gift on my invoice.

Interesting as it's on my invoice but doesn't show on this page.

Always applied within 24 hours but it does not show up on the website. It shows up on the invoice if you have them email you a new one. Also generally no email. Never had a problem.

My DW's application was submitted on the third, we made several corrections the same day and got a quality control email that night, she showed as approved on the 8th and got her actual visa on the 11th. (I still have a valid visa from a previous trip so did not need to apply).
Thanks that is encouraging.

No - they look that the name matches - but the frustrating part is that the rejections seem almost random. I have had couples submit identical financials and one was accepted and the other rejected. In some cases they resubmitted the exact same thing and they were accepted. horrible process. But its the only show in town.
I have only seen applications submitted on Dec. 2 without errors that have received their E-Visa's. Have you noticed anyone else being issued an E-Visa? I submitted mine on Dec. 3., made correction and received email on Dec. 4 advancing to Under Check status on the 5th. Now in Under Check status since the 5th.

Ok, fairly new to NCL. (We've only done 2 prior cruises.) We currently have a third booked (and paid in full.) How do you get started in the bidding process? Do you have to wait for an email invitation or is there some website to go to?
Upgrade offers begin to occur around the 80 day mark plus or minus. There are three ways I have experienced. You may receive an email. The homepage when you login to your account will have a banner to click on to upgrade. Finally you can enter you info into this site to check:https://upgrade.plusgrade.com/offer/NCL/

Just received the latest Oceania brochure and it clearly states La Reserve menus are staying the same. I hope they aren’t shutting down Marina’s La Reserve ahead of the refit when it will become Aquamar.
They aren't shutting down the La Reserve dinner but moving it to Privee. So yes the space will be redone into Aquamar. I don't think they'll move it to Privee before the remodel but they might.
-
Apparently the menu's for LaReserve are changing. This according to an Oceania rep. As a result I cannot book for my Jan. 21st sailing on the Marina. Anyone have info or updates they can share?
-
Seems this thread is strictly about arguing for arguement's sake. If NCL had to provide a legal document for banned items it would be at least 10,000 pages long to satisfy comments here.

Mumbling about Marina
in Oceania Cruises
Posted
My alltime favorite happened on a Disney Cruise. A guy in the elevator was grumbling about all the gol darn kids. I was silently laughing hysterically.
