  1. Odd I haven’t seen anything about it, Prima lost power last night maybe 3 am? We knew because the emergency lights woke us up and wouldn’t turn off. Then all the lights in our cabin came on multiple times and we couldn’t shut them off. Called the concierge and they said the whole ship lost power. We made it to our next port so more curious than anything if anyone knows more.
  2. 😆 good thing you’re not in the 13th sailing with us as we’ll be in the Haven with our baby. Although most of the time she’s so chill you wouldn’t know she’s there. We’ve noticed there tend to be kids in the Haven, probably depends on our sailing and the length.
  3. LOL. This was actually our exact thought. A baby is the best chance to travel Europe and see sights because anything and everything interests her and once we have a toddler things will change.
  4. Lucky baby!!!! A pack and play is a pop up portable crib 😊 you’ve probably seen them if you google it! the ship can provide, just call in advance to confirm. It saves you having to lug a pack and play on the trip. Most hotels (some Airbnb’s) have them too so call before booking.
  5. I agree. Some of the other Haven rooms in the Prima have asterisks for strange modifications to the rooms (like no bath tub) so we are sticking as is. They should throw those non hot tub rooms in a different category!!!!
  6. Not required as far as I’m aware. BUT, I would never ever ever travel without supplementary health insurance coverage outside of the country unless your plan covers it. Just pay for it because you never think it will happen to you. I had a coworker that was in a life changing accident overseas without insurance and ended up hospitalized in a foreign country for months. Family had to take second mortgage and raise tens of thousands to cover the medical bills and medical flight home. They ended up selling their house when they returned. The accident ended up being life altering physically and also financially because they had no insurance coverage.
  7. This!!! But beware on Prima (and maybe other ships - can’t confirm though) there is an asterisk next to the hot tub in a few categories (H4 haven aft facing owners suite on Prima) with the room numbers that do NOT have a hot tub. Would be fine if you book directly and pick your room but we purposely decided not to bid on that category of room because with our luck we would get the one without a hot tub. Lol
  8. It might depend on where they are going. We are opting for an umbrella type travel stroller for Europe.
  9. A lot of the newer NCL ships have stuff geared towards kids, some more than others. The old ones don’t have much so take a look at the ship first. As for the room, we only have a baby (will be 10 months at time of cruising) and booked a 2 bedroom family suite for this fall. I figured once she goes down we can relax in our room and on the balcony/living room area without waking her up. RCL, Disney or carnival should be okay as well although I’ve never been on RCL or Disney.
  10. Yes we are!! The only people crazy enough to drag their infant to Europe 🤣 definitely say hello! We are so excited too!
  11. Thank you!! Enjoy your trip, definitely sounds more relaxing lol The more I read we are lucky to depart from Barcelona and end in Rome so at least those we don’t have to worry about returning to the ship. Thank you for the heads up on Florence, I am going to research each port one by one 😵‍💫 we have an overnight in Florence. Also, side note for anyone that runs along this post, we were struggling with the car seat issue as we don’t want to taxi at port and lug around a car seat while we see sights. our baby is a little to big to sit in the stroller with the infant car seat attachment for long periods of time as she likes to face forward… so after researching for hours after this post we splurged today a nuchfolger car seat that was recommended in some baby travel in groups for Europe (maybe works in Australia too?). It is under 5 kg and folds up into a small bag and passed crash tests and is rear facing. What a concept! Now we can bring an umbrella stroller and toss the car seat in the underneath storage
  12. THANK YOU! So much awesome info I appreciate it. Now you have my brain going and I will have to research each port and decide whether a carrier or stroller is best. Hoping to find a collapsible stroller we can carry if needed. We are in the Haven and if memory serves me right we should get priority tender? I don’t think my status is quite high enough yet. We haven’t cruised since pre Covid. We have an overnight in Pisa so I will have to research that too. Thank you ❤️ that makes sense in the weather. Good for you for getting out there with twins and a 9 mo!!!!! Love that so much. If you have an umbrella stroller recommendation I will definitely need to research and buy one.
  13. That is true and don’t doubt it will be a workout. Do you think walking around Lisbon is more difficult than hiking a mountain (14er+) or running a half/full marathon? Obviously different but genuinely curious…
  14. THANK YOU! This is so, so helpful. Love the buffet idea (Hadn’t thought of that….), I will ask them to clear out the mini fridge and load up on fruit and yogurt…. We are already locked in for October - Spain, Italy and France. I think ports are Ibiza, Valencia, Provence, Palma, Cannes, Rome, Genoa, Florence/Pisa, Naples, Barcelona. I will have to read up on the tender issues. Is the tender that long due to the lines of people or due to where the ship has to dock?
  15. Thank you! The pool on the balcony is a fantastic idea!!! I was under the impression that we cannot take her on the splash pad since she is not potty trained. 😂 we’ll be in Lisbon prior so I will report back. We are more looking for people that have travelled abroad on a cruise with an infant. Of course most, especially US citizens, will say we will be miserable because the US is not baby friendly and tend to halt their lives with a baby. We’ve been on many trips already just not this long. We travel often and hike with her at high altitude frequently and live/train at high altitude so not worried at all about the hills…. We plan to get off daily.
  16. We have been on quite a few cruises and our infant has travelled a lot already, but looking for any tips or tricks from those that have been on NCL (Or the Prima or a Mediterranean with an infant!). She will be a little over 10 months when we board and we already requested a pack and play. Yes we know we are crazy 😂
  17. Our cruise dropped $5K and we were able to email the price drop and get a credit 😁😁 yay NCL
  18. Do you know what floors/cabins this issue touches? We are paying a lot for a haven and want to make sure we try move asap if we are in one of these rooms….
  19. Anyone have any insight on this Prima issue with a 15th floor haven? Looks like the haven pool deck and restaurant is on 16? Is it loud? Thinking we should see if there is an option to move to 14. We have a baby and will be towards the front.
  20. Love it!! Will they do special requests for food off the menu? Planning to spend more time reading through this thread for tips but I’ll take any and all topics, especially food wise
  21. Wow! Thank you - first time in a haven, only been in suites before so this is fantastic news. We love our lobster tail.
  22. Has anyone ever requested a pack and play and they didn’t have enough? We are doing the Prima in Europe so I would prefer not to drag a pack and play from the US but I get a tad worried what happens if they run out on a 10 day cruise. We are in the haven if that makes any difference for availability.
  23. I totally agree it happens… and when given the chance to make it right they should. And they did. To me it’s about principle and if a company pulls this I will spend my money elsewhere. I hope they fix your issue! I don’t know if I would call it dopey 😆 20% off the cruise goes a loooooong way when booking a Haven room for a 2 week Europe cruise
  24. I did. After posting this I called my PCC again and told him I would find a new favorite cruise line and it worked (politely of course- not the fault of my PCC or the agents that NCL sends out coupons that magically disappear from the system…. Although maybe it’s a marketing tactic 😂) I get if it wasn’t in my name or expired or something. Hoping it doesn’t happen again but now if someone else has the same issue hopefully they see this thread and fight for the coupon! 20% goes a long way on a Europe cruise.
