  1. I'm re-reading your post and it would be great if they had a resident astronomer on board, even without the planetarium. Especially for TAs and other voyages where there are a lot of sea days.
  2. Well, it's certainly not their sales offices that are going to do that for them. It's the onboard ambiance, the crew and the $25 deposit. In our 5 years of sailing with Viking, we've only found 1 agent that is very good and on top of things and very responsive. She is the only person besides "our" travel agent that we now deal with.
  3. Too late. We're on Orion next month, but thanks. So do they have a menu posted at this window?
  4. That would explain how we have missed it. So it is a window from the kitchen then?
  5. That would be lovely. We would very much enjoy that.
  6. We were on Jupiter in 2022. So, like SantaFe1, we must have walked past it many times.
  7. They must have had to remove tables? Possibly the ones where the ship's officers often dine? I'm trying to imagine this and we'll certainly be looking for it. Would you happen to have a photo?
  8. I'll be looking for it now that I know it's there.
  9. That is very interesting information. So the Orion has the Asian station? When we were on Jupiter there was no Asian station, so it must have been added afterwards.
  10. I've just been corrected. She actually reached out to the GM on Viking Orion.
  11. I do think a Canadian office would be an improvement. Having said that, on our cruise in January the Guest Services Manager reached out to Viking about a question we had for our cruise next month. She ended up with someone based in South Africa who was of no help at all. The GS Manager had to call and make the inquiry several times, before she got the answer. I'm not sure what country the answer came from. So maybe it doesn't matter.
  12. Right, not very well phrased on my part. That is what I meant -- a deal not to be passed on, especially if one has been to Africa. Incentives for a future cruise.
  13. The information you're looking for should be on page 3 of your invoice.
  14. Same when we were on Jupiter. I was doing some research and came across an article that said Saturn, Mars and Neptune also have planetariums, but I didn't think that was the case.
  15. We know that Viking Jupiter has a planetarium. We are interested in what other Viking ocean ships are equipped with a planetarium. Thanks!
  16. Best of luck @FetaCheese. We're looking forward to your next update. It sounds like V is taking good care of you.
  17. Possibly there are incentives to depart early — future cruise vouchers, etc?
  18. I agree with both of these thoughts. When on board, the Viking crew know we are Canadian. And, yes, a Canadian office would be an improvement.
  19. It's very nice that there are several CC posters on this cruise. We did the TA from San Juan to Barcelona last March. I expected a rocky ride, but every day was beautiful with calm seas and sunny skies. The pool roof was open most of the time. We're looking forward to hearing often from you all. Enjoy!! Thanks to @FetaCheese for starting the thread.
  20. You're absolutely right about the ridiculous statement that Canadians require a US Passport and I roll my eyes every time I see it. I've also taken them to task on this and indeed nothing has changed.
  21. Yes, right. It isn't fun and apparently the process hasn't changed much. I've stayed in touch with people on our January cruise. We all started applying around the same time -- the beginning of December. Some still don't have them.
  22. You might want to start processing the visa now.
  23. I'm looking forward to it. I always find your "Live From" posts very interesting. Enjoy!
  24. It's good that you already have a priority list. In our case, we added them to our cart in 3's before we checked out.
