Hint for Ruby: Use the Promenade Deck to get forward and aft without the crowds. The starboard side has handicap doors and all the elevators are where the doors are.
Great tip, thank you! Our cabin is aft, starboard side! Now to remember this! lol!

Botticelli for embarkation and (and all breakfast and lunch) for non-Reserve on the July 23 Ruby sailing.
Exactly. I asked which dining room was open (not where can I eat) and they told me the buffet was open. I had to get a little assertive until someone answered the question I actually asked.
Yes, I can get assertive when I have to. We can’t go all over the ship on embarkation day because there is a lot of traffic and I need to have a definitive answer. Not all people are sympathetic to truly disabled people. Elevators are very busy for example. I like to have a plan and be organized. Thank you all!

We’ll just play it by ear. My hubby cannot walk at all and on previous cruises the staff have always treated us with respect and consideration. For this reason, I made a point of booking us in the Da Vinci dining room early in our booking for all our evening meals and mercifully they were saved throughout all the hullabaloo surrounding the dining rooms. It will all work out! Thank you for all your input!

You don’t. Just go there. Don’t ask the crew, they’re going to say you can go to the buffet for lunch.
YesI have had tat experience in the past. Hubby is disabled and uses mobility scooter and don’t fancy trying to get him into the buffet and all the chaos on embarkation day. Looks like it changes on the day & ship. Thank you.

Which dining room is opened on embarkation day on the Ruby.
-
Does anyone know if they still open up a dining room on embarkation day. Hubby has to use a mobility scooter and buffet is usually too chaotic for him. Thank you!

I booked our dining and I have not fully paid yet. We are platinum, but choice of dining rooms was limited.

You may consider another thread to post your question. This thread is specific to DMW and all new dining questions.

Tried to book Honolulu accessible tour, but all booked up. I’m wondering if they’ll have a waiting list for this tour. Anybody experienced this and heard of a waiting list on some tours that sell out.

Is the elite bar set up free!

There was an entrance on deck 6 to the lower area of the theatre on the Crown last year for wheelchairs, scooters etc.,.We are on the Ruby this year, does anyone know if we can access the Lower theatre on the ruby on deck 6. Have looked at the deck map and can’t figure it out!

Where can I find an updated wine list.

Where can I find an updated wine list.

I was aware that it was 1 bottle per guest at embarkation, but thought if you bring on any more at port stops, you would have to drink in your cabin.
Thank you all!- 1

Can we bring wine on board, other than the two allowed, pay the $15?dollars corkage and drink anywhere on board including dining room!

We like to share and meet different people most nights for dinner. I have pre booked our dining table for 8 for our cruise which starts on 10th September. If we don’t wish to share a table the odd night, then it looks as if it is easy to cancel and just go to a walk in dining room instead. Just wondering if I am reading this properly. In general we really enjoy our cruises with Princess, but it really shouldn’t be this difficult to get an evening meal, should it?

I am wondering if a lot people will be happy to go back to just walking into dining ng room at ANY TIME and for this reason there might be long lines for Anytime Dining! What do you think!

Which ship? For what it's worth, I never smelled smoke in any Princess dining room (over 30 cruises.)
Neither have I and I have asthma and I’m particularly sensitive to smoke!

Yes, but I don’t go to the buffet unless I have to. I find the food is either cold or dried up and I like to sit down and be served!
-
Yes, he can manage a few stairs and make his way inside holding onto the backs of chairs. His scooter does fold down and breaks into 2 parts and is also airline approved. This is a New England & Maritime cruise and I suppose it also depends on the terrain at these ports.
thank you for your help! -
Are there tours offered/allowed for disabled passengers. My hubby uses a small, collapsible travel scooter?

We were on the Crown last September and we loved the food and entertainment. The desserts were particularly good - too good, if the truth be known! lol.

Looking forward to your live posts. We sail on the Crown to Hawaii on March 9th. Anxious to hear if all the bad reviews of the Crown are warranted. I hope you enjoy your cruise and the warm weather.
We sailed on the Crown from Vancouver to Alaska last September/October. We were very pleased with both the food and entertainment. The weather was dismal at that time, but the food and entertainment were both very good! She is an older/smaller ship, but as husband is disabled, this made it less tiring for him. One of our best cruises ever!

You've got us all holding our breath! What was the outcome?
I heard back from my Princess Planner that we are definitely booked, and that when you book an excursion and PAY for it, it is no longer in your cart! This makes sense now. It’s just like goin to the supermarket, you buy your goods and then it is no longer in your cart! Our Planner, Terry Hobson, is the best. All is well!

We will head to whichever dining room is open, as my hubby needs to use his mobility scooter and it is impossible to get it into the buffet on embarkation for lunch with all the chaos going on!
