  1. My husband and zI did a B to B in SE Asia and we just got off the ship (escorted) and taken to a holding area right there on the dock. After about 10 or 15 minutes we were taken back on the ship again, after they checked passports etc.,. Obviously, it depends which port/country you are in, as to how they organize this. I think the onus is on you to ask for details on this , if your partner needs any sort of assistance. My hubby may need assistance next year after knee surgery and you can bet your bottom dollar I will be preempting as much as I possibly can, in order for us to have a safe and happy cruise.

  2. On our last cruise from LA to Sydney, Australia, I organized the M & M and it was a great success. I had quite a number of volunteers which included an MC who had a news broadcasters voice.  He was so good and so entertaining and could be heard, without a microphone, all over the large room that Princess provided for us. I consider the M & M was such a huge success because of this wonderful MC.

Also one has to remember  that Princess waits until the bus is full before departing to

the airport.  At times it makes for a huge que at the checkin and securities.  In FCO there is

a pre check to get into the terminal,  a check to get to the counter and a security check.

If going to North American, sometimes there is another check at the gate.   It all takes

time.  Go with a service and you can set your own time schedule.

Thank you. All good information. I have gone through FCO before, but it's been a few years. So you're from BC too?  Have you had much luck with flying out of Canada with EZAir. I can't find anything decent at all with them and then of course we have toconvert to Canadian!

They also don't offer the wine package at all on Australian cruises. 😡

My point was that it was a Pacific Ocean cruise and we were days at sea and had no chance to buy wine. So, we were a captive audience. Nowhere on our booking did they tell us there wouldn't be any wine packages. There were a lot of passengers up in arms about this.  Nothing to stop this happening again in my opinion.

  5. They don't offer them on every cruise longer than 7 days. We were on a 28 day cruise LA to Sydney and they were not offered on this cruise. We weren't told this before the cruise and so we had to buy individual, expensive bottles of wine. We had many days at sea on the Pacific and so had no other option. We weren't too happy about this and never did get a satisfactory explanation as to why!
