  1. Examples of out of control tipping. Only encourages low wages and passes it onto the consumer. Reign it in folks.
  2. we will see what it is like when we dock in LA the first time, may reserve the uber then for a week later, when we disembark on the 27th... also will see if we have any obcs left, may just use them for O transfers...
  3. We did our own air as well. We have a 12:15 flight out of LAX. Hope it's not difficult to get Uber.
  4. our cruise ends at san pedro , Los Angeles port what is the best way to get to LAX, uber or ? cheapest, most reliable? thank you in advance.
  5. We need to get to LAX from Port in LA. Is supershuttle easier, less expensive than Uber?
  6. Thank you for starting this topic. I will be adding to it. We were offered a concierge level and although there are really few benefits, for 200pp we took it. Went from a b2 to an A1. For the second leg, we have an inside guarantee, not yet assigned. Will post what we end up having. Originally only going with carry ons, we have been doing that for the past 3 cruises, even a 14 day TA. But this is a 20 day with two totally different climates, so we added a small suitcase. Flying on the day, direct, air canada, 5 hours, leave at 7, arrive at 9. That's it for now.
  7. and you will get that "international crowd", when you travel internationally.
  8. Only one of our cruises is listed. We are in a b5 cat on Vista, March 16, colonial America. We could go to b4, for an extra 600pp, no sale, makes NO sense.
  9. And to add to that, the huge air prices make it silly to do short itins.
  10. We are attracted to O because of the longer itineraries. Other lines hope you will book their shorter ones back to back, so you wind up paying more.
  11. Prioritizing all the issues that make cruising enjoyable is how cruiselines aim for financial success. Food, itineraries, health and safety issues etc are most important to ALL cruisers.
  12. Now THAT is important to us. Food IS the main reason we sail O.
  13. Our only applicable sailing booked at opening prices for a b5 cat, can only get us to a b4, with additional 600pp. Nope not good. So that's all for this sale for us.
  14. To get back to the itinerary of this cruise. It is amazing, just wish it was offered in May and September. We are otherwise busy in the summers. Iceland and Greenland are on our bucket list, but because the optimum temperatures are in the summer months , we are not able to do it. Same with Alaska, although we are going next week. A bit colder is ok with us.
  15. I need to augment the above information. I have since learned that BA has merged with AA for this flight. BA is what we asked for and O gave it to us. Not sure why they gave us a 3 hour layover instead of the 4 that we asked for, but hope it is good enough. So all in all we are pleased.
  16. I tried to see if there is a way to book one more...nope...we are all booked up...every two months... best sale of the year and all I have is one cruise, waiting for the agent to get back to me... it is the one that we are waitlisted for a regular cabin instead of the handicap cabin... does B5 qualify for cabin upgrade?
  17. just one cruise that I will call the agent about, she did not call us back... yeah hate the chase...but got a hefty rebate, so cant complain and can only imagine how busy they must be with everyone calling... too bad O just cant be transparent with this...
  18. only one of our cruises out of 4 is applicable... will see what the agent comes back with...
  19. I also called my agent to check on the 4 cruises we have booked that qualify in the time frame. She said she will get back to us.
  20. the sale is from today till sept 30 and applies to sailings from 10/1/23 to 10/31/24 4 cat upgrade and some are including gratuities, depending on the consortium.... just called the agency we deal with and see how and if we can apply this to any of our sailings...
  21. Dont feel bad, I dont understand anything in this topic...lol I thought it is about the Labor Day sale, but seems to have veered in a different direction.
  22. I thought this topic is about Labor Day category upgrade sale. But maybe , it is relevant. To get a benefit from the upgrade sale, you need to cancel and rebook? but if you cant cancel and rebook without paying the penalty of 150 pp, then maybe the sale is not all that great. Am I on the right track here and this is why the discussion is about changing bookings?
