  1. Ours delivered yesterday and was pleasantly surprised were near perfect condition. A big thanks for all involved.
  2. We normally have three large bags, along with carry ons. Don’t do theme nights with big outfits. End up leaving some clothes onboard for the crew, so we can pack souvenirs. Many buy boxes provided by Holland America for souvenirs and we have made odd shaped boxes out what ever the room stewards provided us for long souvenirs. Almost all world travelers have more coming home than going.
  3. Our letter from Holland America stated ours would be shipped by 10/16 haven’t heard anything from Fedx notices. Wondering if anyone has received any Notices or Received their luggage?
  4. I inscribed on our tags (1of3) (2of3)(3of3) going to this address for our three bags so hope they get it together for shipping all at once. We came home from a camping excursion, spent all day waiting for luggage that would be their by the end of that day only to find out on another email it hadn’t even been handed over to fed-ex. Life is great.
  5. we left the ship on the 22nd and transferred to the hotel. On the 23rd a bus transferred about seven to Perth airport we were not charged. Some took a taxi and pd their fee. They may have gotten money back.
  6. We’ve been very fortunate to have sailed aboard the Amsterdam many times always good times in remote destinations around the world. Captain Mercer positioning for one of the ports. Papua, New Guinea boy in a dugout canoe. The Amsterdam security team making sure we were safe in pirate territory. The last picture of them waiting final word for the last cruise passengers for disembarkation in Fremantle Australia March 2020. We all hope to continue the tradition on the Zaandam
  7. $3500 each which seemed like a lot early for a 2022 cruiseWC, and I may jumped to conclusions. After researching back we paid $7000 in Aug. 2017 for the 2019WC. Sorry all
  8. Anyone else a little nervous about Holland America increasing their required deposit amount for the 2022 world cruise?
  9. We didn’t insure our luggage, hopefully arriving at our home in a few weeks. Your idea of HA notifying persons of actions would be nice and should be standard procedure. Seeing actions on ones credit card should always have some kind company interaction.
  10. Yesterday received $200 from HA on my credit card. Thinking maybe payback. We paid $200 future cruise credit in 2019 onboard for the 2021 WC We paid $200 future cruise credit in 2020 onboard for the 2022 WC. Did anyone else receive this backup from HA. Didn’t try HA because of their latest challenge.
  11. Three months latter cruising on small ships just starting with the virus not contained on these small cruises, I believe your 100% right . We’ll see what it will be like in three more months In Nov.
  12. All of this could have happened because “ they wished to raise X amount of money” and just maybe the money didn’t come through. Imagine the double digit interest Yo pay on the loan. All the while no income coming I in from the US market. Just my thoughts
  13. It could be large ports on different trips givIng more people the chance to travel without having to drive great distances.
  14. I repeat I believe Carnival has made a major mistake by selling to a competitor. Fred Olson has now decided to send one of its 1325 passenger cruise ship to America for the first time itinerary. Just a start. Imagine a cruise itinerary going from LA to San Fran. to Vancouver every 21 days or so all year long going to the Polynesian Islands with other stops along the way. I believe it would be nearly full every time. Just right for one of these competitors with the right size ship. Just my thoughts
  15. Haven’t booked this world yet, could someone who has the 01/05/2021 Miami to Rome confirmed give me their penalty and cancellation dates. Thank you very much
  16. Received an email from. “ Nathan Brockmann, Holland America, office of the president“ guestrelations@hollandamerica.com
  17. I’ve thought I was the only one. After many many years things never got any better. Hopefully the new IP person Mentioned earlier can make things right.
  18. I’ve found the Holland America website to be one of worst I’ve ever used. Anyone else have problems
  19. we don’t know that those Lanai rooms aren’t going to be added since those rooms were sold for 2021world , and going onto 2022 world . There is a cost to adding these rooms which Holland may not want to absorb, for a ship this old
  20. they will only expand and will be more into Carnivals Markets and other cruise line markets as well. thats my thoughts
  21. I believe Carnival made a major mistake in selling ships to non Carnival Corp. companies, they should be scrapped. The loss in that revenue, is nothing they will lose in market share from lost passengers to the buying companies at bargain prices.
  22. Trouble is that when you sell a cruise ship it take market share. Maybe not so much Holland America but to Carnaval Corp. owned ships. When you strap it you may not get much but in the long run you might be money ahead. Just a thought
  23. We have very fond memories on the Amsterdam after doing a few WC . Hoping to continue on Zaandam in 2022. I remember one of a good in counter on the 2014 WC with A stranded small fishing vessel with 9 fisherman off the coast of Peru. We seen the fisherman waving shirts getting the attention of the Amsterdam. Captain Mercer position the ship upwind of the drifting fishing boat and sent out a security detail to assess their predicament. After giving them food and water the Captain contacted the shipping company owners with there position and we headed our way
