Hmmm... the unvaxxed are on the ship with you, in the elevators with you, in some of the theaters sitting next to you,,, in the dining rooms and buffet eating with your maskless, in most of the ship's venues with you. You flew in a big metal tube filled with unvaxxed from Ohio to your embarkation port. What makes a bus different?
Spot on!

Exactly no matter how many people get the vaccine we are not going to stop it from creeping on a ship or anywhere else for that matter, I wish it would but sadly it will not. Time for us to focus on the treatments we have and finding even better treatments, plus a healthy lifestyle.

I don't know why anyone would give you crap. I am very grateful to you for sharing information. Perhaps those who felt that NCL policy of 100% vaccinated would keep covid off the ship were faced with the hard reality that 100% vaccinated doesn't appear to be any more, or less, effective than the 95/5% policy and that realization made them uncomfortable? Who knows, but your experience is important for anyone thinking their sailing will remain covid free just because it's 100% vaccinated. It won't. It can't. Those folks should be thanking you.
Bingo! I have been saying this since day one.

I booked a few Royal cruises recently and do not mind their protocols, plenty of other lines for those that don't want to cruise with them.

Reevaluating why I didn't pick to cruise earlier than later this year. Let's go!!
Covid will be around forever at this point.
Exactly this thing is going nowhere.

What's crazy to me is that people can fly without even taking a covid test and sit within inches of another person for hours. The CDC was fine with it and is still fine with it, yet the risk is high. Cruising was singled out and shut down. Very hypocritical since it's obvious that sitting within inches of a covid positive person for hours on end is high risk.Well said and so true!

I do not think Carnival will change anything quickly, but there would be just as many who start cruising as those who leave due to more lenient policies. If they dropped the vaccine requirement, I would cruise this month.
BINGO!

Awesome news
I agree, I think the cruise lines are doing a good job on their own.

There's such an easy solution. Require vaccination and drop everything else.
No thanks!

This should bring to their knees all those who who have blindly supported the CDC. In fact, it should give all USA citizens pause. If we can't trust the CDC who can we trust? 😉
So very true.

They should actually stop this nonsense of sueing Florida and join Florida in their lawsuit of the CDC. Some of protocasls are outdated big time.
Bingo! Now that would have been the smart thing to do.

The ships are sailing... There are no issues... There are no fines... Their work arounds are not being challenged by the state of Florida. NCL is going to get embarrassed and put behind and even greater burden. This is a terrible gamble they didn't have to take. If I was an NCL shareholder I'd be furious right now.
Exactly! Not a smart move by NCL

Yes and in that closed NCL forum thread almost all the NCL cruisers are very supportive of the company wanting to sail at 100% vaccinated.
Unlike here where the anti-vax crowd is so vocal.
Yeah you have that really backwards, that is far from the truth.

So if you booked Norwegian thinking that you were going to get to cruise in August you may be sorely disappointed.
I'm curious to see if the same legal eagles who predicted that Florida had no case and the CDC would easily prevail in that lawsuit will now tell us how strong NCL's case is and Florida's law is now on death row.
I know right, that is exactly what I was thinking. It seems they are hiding these days lol.

This is just dumb, it is just going to make a bigger mess then it is already. Del Rio has no sense. If anything its going to slow things down and drag this mess out even longer.

Read the ruling. The judge requested the CDCs data concerning their reasoning for all the restrictions in the CSO and obviously what they gave him wasn't adequate to keep an entire industry shut down while the rest of the nation is open. He may not be an epidemiologist but he did a pretty bang up job in pointing out the complete inconsistencies in the CDCs CSO and he is backed up by real data.
You are 100 percent correct the judge did a great job.
